The wait is over ladies and gentlemen: Lamborghini’s next hypercar has made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show, and dare we say what a hypercar it is! The new Bull God will feature an earth shattering 700hp V12 and the highest power to weight ratio of any car in its class. Yes, this is the new, long waited Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.
Lamborghini is really good at creating sinister super sports cars, but it is equally as talented at naming them. According to the company, "Aventador" was the name of a bull that entered into battle on October 1993 at the Saragossa Arena, earning the "Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera" for its outstanding courage. Having the courage to go up against a new world of super sports cars will be the name of the game for the new Lamborghini flagship. Today’s world is extremely high-tech and many new players have entered the arena. Lamborghini has been promoting its carbon-fiber monocoque technology and the Aventador’s 2.9 second 0-62mph, but will that be enough?
According to Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "The Aventador is a jump of two generations in terms of design and technology, it’s the result of an entirely new project, but at the same time it’s a direct and consistent continuation of Lamborghini’s brand values. It is extreme in its design and its performance, uncompromising in its standards and technology, and unmistakably Italian in its style and perfection. Overall, the dynamics and technical excellence of the Aventador LP 700-4 makes it unrivaled in the worldwide super sports car arena."
UPDATE 06/21/2012: Everyone has to admit that the Lamborghini Aventador is a cool supercar and despite its $387,000 price tag, the demand for it is pretty high. Currently, the waiting list is set at about 12 months, but Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s CEO, recently announced that the company is working on reducing the waiting period, especially now when the demand is almost double of what it was. Currently, Lamborghini is producing a total of 600 Aventador units a year, but they are working on investing in the plant so that they can increase production capacity. (Autovisie)

The Lamborghini Aventador’s Successor Spied, And It Has A V-12!
When Lamborghini launched the special edition Aventador Ultimae LP 780-4, we knew the end of an era was coming. After a decade on the market, the Aventador is finally going to be retired. Previous rumors suggested that it will be the last Lamborghini model to feature a V-12 engine, but it looks that Lamborghini is not ready just yet to give up on the V-12.
A successor for the Aventador is right around the corner, and despite many rumors, it will continue offering a V-12 engine- it’s a hybridized engine, that’s true, but still a V-12.
The V-12 Hybrid Lamborghini Aventador Has Finally Been Spotted
Back in July this year, Lamborghini debuted the LP780 Ultimae. Well, the name gives it away, doesn’t it? The Lamborghini Ultimae is apparently the ultimate expression of the Aventador line and blends elements from the Aventador S as well as the Aventador SVJ.
It is the last Lamborghini to feature a naturally aspirated V-12 engine. However, while that car marks the end of the line for the glorious V-12, sort of, the folks at Santa Agata Bolognese say that the V-12 is destined to live on for some more time.

When initially launched on the market back in 2019, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster came with a starting price of $517,770! Quite an increase when compared to the Avantador S Roadster priced at $460,000. But it was all for the right reasons: more power, most aggressive look, improved performance figures.
But, Fusion Motor is trying to sell an SVJ Roadster with 2,300 miles on the odometer for $874,950. That’s a little over $350,000 more than the new car!

The 2021 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is a track-only supercar produced by Lamborghini. Unveiled in 2020, it’s developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the company’s racing division, and designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile. A bespoke design that looks nothing like Lamborghini’s other vehicles, the Essenza SCV12 is limited to only 40 units and comes with its own racing program. Like other bespoke customer track cars from the past, such as the Ferrari FXX K and the McLaren P1 GTR, all examples of the Essenza SCV12 remain with Lamborghini outside specific customer events. Labeled as a direct descendant to the Miura Jota and Diablo GTR, the Essenza SCV12 is powered by a V-12 rated at more than 818 horsepower, which makes it the most powerful Lambo V-12 supercar developed so far.

Lamborghini’s highly-anticipated track-only car is finally here, and it’s called the Essenza SCV12. Developed by Squadra Corse, the company’s racing division, and designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile, the Essenza SCV12 is a limited-edition, track-only supercar that will be built in just 40 units. Lambo says it’s the spiritual successor to the Miura Jota and Diablo GTR, and the customer experience includes an exclusive club with special programs starting 2021. Just like the regular production Aventador, it’s powered by a V-12 engine, but this mill was revised to produce "more than" 830 horsepower, which makes it the most powerful V-12 Lambo to date.

Lamborghini’s True Christmas Story for 2019 is a Real TearJerker
Back in October 2019, we brought you a story about a father and son that loved the Lamborghini brand and the Aventador so much that they decided to build their own. Long story short, the two worked tirelessly, 3D printing parts, and a little bit of help from a GM-sourced LS1 V-8 engine. Make no mistake, it’s not a Lamborghini Aventador at heart, but for something built in the home garage, it’s a pretty damn good replica.
Well, that was the last we heard about the 3D-printed Aventador replica, but thanks to our reporting (and the reporting of other outlets like ours,) Lambo got word of this replica and decided to do something about it. Fortunately, the brass at Lambo have a heart and gave this father and son duo a Christmas gift they never expected, and the fulfillment of a life-long dream neither thought they would ever see.
One day, the duo walked out to the garage to get to work, only to find that their 3D printed car had been replaced by a real, true-to-life Lamborghini Aventador S. To the best of our knowledge, the father and son don’t get to keep the car, but Lamborghini sure did let them drive it for a few days and that, my friends, is what separates Lamborghini from other exotic car brands like Ferrari. Launched at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Lamborghini Sian ticked a lot of boxes for Sant’Agata Bolognese. It’s the fastest Lambo ever made and also the first hybrid car to wear the raging bull logo, but it won’t pass on its technology to the upcoming Aventador replacement.
The Lamborghini Sian - renamed to Sian FKP 37 to honor the memory of Ferdinand K. Piech - is the first car to employ a supercapacitor system instead of the run-of-the-mill Lithium-ion battery pack. The solution has been adopted by Lamborghini in the name of performance, but not necessarily range, so it’s not suitable for a whatever will come next after the Aventador. Let us explain.

2019 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster
When you tout a car as “the most extreme” of something, there usually aren’t many ways to make improvements on such a model. But Lamborghini is Lamborghini for a reason. The Italian automaker, with the help of its Centro Stile design division and Ad Personam customization division, managed to turn a model that’s already exclusive to 63 units into something more exclusive. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster, and it is a showstopper. To be clear, the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster isn’t a special edition within a special edition. It’s a visual interpretation of what any of the 63 Aventador SVJ Roadster models could look like with the proper exclusive touches from Centro Stile and Ad Personam. Since all 63 units of the Aventador SVJ Roadster are already accounted for, the showcase model that Lamborghini unveiled at Pebble Beach is nothing more than a 759-horsepower press release on four wheels. Still, it’s hard to take your eyes away from the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster. At the very least, it makes you wonder what other personalized options are out there for this exclusive piece of hardware.
Lamborghini Is Successful as Hell, and That’s Actually a Problem
Lamborghini sold 4,553 cars in the first six months of this year. To put this number into perspective, let me tell you that in all of 2018 Lamborghini sold just 5,750 vehicles in total. According to Lamborghini officials, the company expects to sell 8,000 cars this year. How it comes that Lambo made such an incredible growth this year?
Well, they have the Urus, which found way to 2,693 customers in the first six months of this year (plus 1,211 units of the Huracan, and 649 units of the Aventador). Interestingly enough, 70 percent of Urus buyers are new to the brand! So, what is the problem then? Lambo CEO painted the picture a bit.
"We must not go on growing forever. We now have to consolidate these results and preserve exclusivity," Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali said at the new Paint Shop inauguration at St. Agata.
"The 2019 sales level is the right dimension of our company with our current product portfolio," he added.
With a massive market for the Urus, Lamborghini could lose exclusivity and emerge into a segment of conventional vehicles. That’s something Lambo cannot do. Or is it?
You Don’t Need Tons of Money To Own a Lamborghini Aventador - Just Get a 3D Printer
What do you do when you want to own a Lamborghini Aventador, but you don’t have the money to go buy one? Some people will save up to buy one while others will probably just resign themselves to not getting a chance at it no matter what they do. Then there’s physicist Sterling Backus. Without the financial means to buy a supercar that starts at $330,000, Backus decided to build his own Aventador, using nothing more than spare parts, a few original parts, and a 3D printer. Backus started creating his 3D-printed Aventador — he calls it the AXAS Interceptor — and has so far invested $20,000 in the build. He and his son have been at it building the car for the past 18 months, working on it for at least one hour every day. Progress has been slow, but seeing how the car is coming together may make the long build worth it in the end. To think this whole idea to 3D print a Lamborghini Aventador came after a video game run of Forza Horizon 3.
Kids Have It Good These Days - They Can Even Learn to Drive in a Lamborghini Aventador
A Lamborghini Aventador is not the kind of car you’d expect to be used as a learner car. But once again, reality has proven to be stranger than fiction because U.K.based driving tutorial company Get Licensed is offering you a chance to learn how to drive an Aventador. No, this isn’t some kind of belated April’s Fool prank or a gimmick meant to draw people into the company’s website where they can book learning sessions with a 1996 Honda Civic. The Lamborghini Aventador learner car is a real thing, and if you want to take Get Licensed up on its offer, you’re going to have to book 10 sessions with the Aventador for a princely sum of £20,000. That’s around $26,140 based on current exchange rates. Would you be interested to pay that much to learn how to drive a Lamborghini Aventador over a period of 10 sessions? Seems like a lot of people are.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce is an incredible machine, meticulously built to dispense speed at every opportunity thanks to a plethora of carbon fiber weight-saving measures, advanced aerodynamics, and a fire-breathing 6.5-liter V-12 engine. However, all that won’t stop someone with too much time, too much money, and not enough taste from utterly ruining it, as evidenced by this particular example covered in 2 million Swarovski crystals.
Lamborghini Won’t Offer the Aventador or Huracan With a Manual Transmission Because It’s Too Expensive
Regardless of your take on manual transmissions, you can’t deny the added layer of involvement they provide to the driving experience. This is why it’s sad that modern supercar makers have all but ruled out the usage of such old-school transmissions for the sake of both costs and performance. Lamborghini is one of them although they were close to offering one on some special edition Huracan and Aventador models.
You and I both know that a robotized automatic transmission with one or multiple clutches is quicker at shifting through gears than any biped creature we commonly refer to as a human. In spite of this, you and I both would like to be able to do things our way, at our own pace. Of course, that’s what flappy paddle gearboxes are for, but there’s nothing quite like the added difficulty of a third pedal and a stick between the seats. Lamborghini has been telling us for years that the manual is dead - at least as far as it’s concerned - but the Italians prove they are genuine petrolheads because, in the meantime, they did at least look into it to make sure once again that the initial assessment was right. Props to Sant’Agata for that!
2019 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is the most extreme iteration of the company’s range-topping supercar. The SVJ combines the complex aerodynamic systems first introduced on the Huracan Performante with the "Jota" badge, first used on the Miura and then revived for the Diablo. A Roadster version of the SVJ will follow in 2019.
Lambo has yet to confirm that a drop-top version of SVJ is underway, but has already sent a certification request to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for such a model. The SVJ Roadster is one of four cars certified by CARB for the 2019 model year. This also means that the drop-top is only a few months away and will likely to break cover in early 2019. The awesome Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the successor to the iconic Diablo Jota and Miura SVJ, joined the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in Roadster trim. The fastest Lamborghini around the Nurburgring is now available without a roof with similar performance, infinite headroom, and a louder engine soundtrack.

Lamborghini is no more about show over go and the new Aventador SVJ is a prime example of that. Yes, it looks bonkers, as it should, but it also drives great and goes stunningly fast on track, something that’s not exactly a characteristic of classic Lamborghinis.
The folks over at Lamborghini glanced at the Aventador SV with its protruding front splitter, big nostrils, and sizeable rear wing and thought that it’s quite tame, actually, and that they could do better. Late last year, the company thus unveiled the SVJ where J, obviously, comes from Jota which is only attached to those Lamborghinis that have successfully broken out of a mental institution.
Below, you can watch it go around the newly-repaved Estoril circuit in Portugal. The surface is quite slippery due to the lack of racing that has occurred since the repaving, so there’s not much rubber to hold you stuck to the racing line, in spite of the mechanical grip provided by the new Pirelli rubber.

Having friends with a lot of money pays off. I am presenting to you an awesome drag race between the Ford GT and the Lamborghini Aventador. The two supercars went head-to-head in a showdown where we could witness two completely different supercar cultures clashing with a bang.
Yet, before I get into the subtle intricacies and nuances about the Ford GT and the Lamborghini Aventador, I have to say that guys at DragTimes did a wonderful job of taking the right time for the cars they let loose at the drag strip.
I have to reveal one secret right now though. The Ford GT did a few ¼ of a mile runs even before going head-to-head in a rolling drag race against the Aventador. It achieved a top speed of 132.3 mph and covered ¼ of a mile in a freaking 10.89 seconds. It could do it in 10.5 with some subtle tweaks.

But while Ferrari has produced over 50 nameplates to date, Lambo remained a lower profile carmaker. The rarer Aventador SVJ 63 carries that name as a nod to 1963, the year patriarch Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company. Lamborghini has yet to release the price for the Aventador SVJ 63, but expect it to be heavier on the pockets compared to the $517,770 price tag of the “standard” Aventador SVJ.
