These guys took a perfectly working Lamborghini Aventador and swapped the wheels for a set of snow tracks. What followed included loads of fun, even though the experiment did not seem to end well.
While the video starts with some light driving through the snow that doesn’t seem to affect the Aventador, which yes, is a finely tuned supercar design to offer maximum performance on public roads and on racetracks, things get awry as the wannabe snow basher gets pushed too hard.
At one point, youtuber HeavyDSparks, the tracked Aventador’s driver, takes the Italian supercar in an area covered with a thicker layer of snow. Heavy revving ensues in the attempt to keep the Raging Bull moving forward through the sea of snow, which at one point stops and needs to get pulled out by a Jeep that’s also riding on snow tracks.
We’d be very interested to see a follow-up of the video because it surely sounded like the Aventador was getting a beating. The fact that it’s not designed for fun in the snow, albeit on snow tracks, the Aventador (although all-wheel-driven) sounds like it’s struggling a lot. Sure, it can take a beating on asphalt, but we’re pretty sure its performance character doesn’t cover the kind of abuse shown in the video.
As Road & Track points out, the car is functioning way outside of normal parameters: there’s basically no turning radius, top speed is a joke and the gearbox’s clutches keep overheating.
It all looks fun on camera, although we’re left wondering how many days is the Lambo going to spend in a workshop and what will the repair bill look like.
