Performance luxury sedans are the perfect middle ground for those seeking comfort, practicality and performance in a single package. And while we have gotten plenty of great examples like the BMW M5, Mercedes AMG GT63, Porsche Panamera, and others, there are those that came to us as concepts, but never delivered in the real world. Here are the most prominent culprits.

Ferrari launched the F8 Tributo as the 488 GTB’s successor in 2019. It came with the 488 Pista’s drivetrain and underpinnings, but slot itself as an entry-level supercar, unlike the track-ready model. German aftermarket company Novitec quickly snapped the 2020 model year of the F8 Tributo and came out with its own iteration of it, which consisted of a body kit, new wheels, an engine tune-up, etc. Seeing the popularity, Novitec came up with one for the 2021 F8 Tributo as well.

Now, the company has come another version of the 2021 F8 Tributo called the F8 N-Largo. This limited-edition model comes with a new set of wheels, an engine upgrade, and a widebody kit.

When Ferrari unveiled the Portofino M we thought that its work with the Portofino was done. However, Youtube user Varryx just proved us wrong: it caught a camouflaged Portofino prototype testing on the Modena streets.

If you’re a regular viewer of ‘DragTimes’, you’d be aware of how fast Brooks’ McLaren 765LT is. He’s got another really quick car in his garage – a Ferrari SF90 Stradale. We’ve seen it go up against his Model S Plaid in the past, but this time, we get to see it take on the McLaren 765LT, which has been very dominant in most of the races it has competed in. When Ferrari launched the Roma back in 2019 we were impressed by its looks. The small front-engined, 2+2 grand tourer based on the Portofino looked like no other Ferrari in the lineup and was ready to take on the competition. If you ask us, the Roma is a supercar that needs no improvement. But of course, there are people out there who do not agree. This is the case with the German tuner DMC who now only improved the looks of the Roma, but also found a way to put more power under the hood.

Hoonigan has been staging some of the craziest drag races, seen on YouTube. As part of the channel’s “This vs That” series, we now get “Hoonicorn vs the World” – a series of drag battles, where Ken Block’s teenage daughter – Lia Block – who is only 14, rocks the 1,400-horsepower Mustang, known as the Hoonicorn. In the previous episode, Lia Block raced an NHRA C6 Corvette and now, she’s going up against a Hoonicorn-inspired, 2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta twin-turbo.

Brooks from ‘DragTimes’ took his Ferrari SF90 Stradale to the drag strip for a fight against a McLaren 720S. The 720S isn’t stock. It features upgraded intake, downpipes, and is tuned to make close to 900 horses at the wheel. This puts the power outputs very close to the SF90 Stradale’s. A while back, Ferrari promised that it will be more unpredictable in regard to its upcoming models. It seems the Italian company relies on its ultra-exclusive Icona models in order to do so, as it recently unveiled the $2.26-million Ferrari Daytona SP3, of which only 599 will be made. Ferrari’s Icona series expands from a two-piece to a trio with the debut of the Daytona SP3. The mid-engined supercar with a ’Targa’ top that revives the glory of the triple from the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona in a current car, was presented at Mugello. With the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V-12 engine the Daytona SP3 hides the DNA of the La Ferrari under its stunning carbon fiber bodywork.

Ferrari is known for many things, their incredible brand image, not winning a Formula 1 championship in nearly 13 years despite practically inventing the sport, selling comically over-priced luggage and keychains, and of course, producing some of the best supercars on Earth. However, the German tuner NOVITEC has just released their upgrade kits for the Ferrari Roma, and it should make the best-looking Ferrari currently on sale go even better than its looks.

Ferrari Roma is a front-engined, 2+2 grand tourer that came to attack on cars like Aston Martin DB11. For a Ferrari priced a little over $220k it had enough power and looks to actually put competition in real trouble. As it was to be expected, the car caught Novitec’s attention who decided there is room for more power under the hood.

When you’ve got the money, you don’t just buy the most exotic cars; you get them commissioned based on your preference and needs. Top-end automakers aren’t new to this as they customize every car based on the client’s needs, but sometimes, they cater to demands that literally change the shape and style of the vehicle. A car that can break the 200-mph barrier uses some pretty beefy bits and pieces to make that speed a reality. However, the equipment needed to bring you back to a standstill, most notably the brakes, is just as integral as the other parts. So imagine you are driving your 200+ mph Italian supercar when you press the brake pedal and nothing happens. That is a possibility, we are finding out, in the Ferrari 458 and 488 models made between September 26, 2009, and August 28, 2019.

Back in September 2021, Novitec announced its first tuning kit for the Ferrari F8 Spider. Now, after more than a month, the famous tuner finally announced the N-Largo package for the Italian roadster. Of course, the F8 Spider N-Largo looks very similar to the F8 N-Largo - the kit based on the Ferrari F8 Tributo. Just like the kit offered for the coupe version, the F8 Spider N-Largo will be limited to only 15 units.

Brooks from ‘DragTimes’ has come up with yet another Tesla Model S Plaid race, but for once, its legacy is at stake. So far, the Plaid has remained pretty much unbeatable, except for losing to the Rimac Nevera. This time, it faces the Ferrari SF90 Stradale – a hybrid car that makes close to 1,000 horses and is significantly lighter than the Plaid, thus giving it a better power-to-weight ratio.
