It’s probably the result you expected, but not one that you hoped for
by Sidd Dhimaan, onThe days where fuel-powered cars used to fight amongst themselves are gone. Now it seems like they’ve all united to fight against electric vehicles and try to preserve the records that they’ve set. The folks at Lovecars have picked out two cars for a drag race, each of them being one of the best performers in their respective worlds – the Lamborghini Aventador SV and the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. Who do you think is going to win?
How Are They Spec’d?
The Lamborghini Aventador SV is powered by a 6.5-liter, naturally aspirated V-12 engine that dishes out 750 ponies and 509 pound-feet of torque.
It takes just 2.8 seconds to its 60 mph dash from a standstill and goes all the way up to 217 mph before losing its breath. The car weighs 3,900 pounds, making it significantly lighter than its battery-powered German counterpart.
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S receives its power from two motors, one mounted on each axle, that produce 761 horses and 774 pound-feet of torque combined.
It silently sprints to 60 mph from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 162 mph. Thanks to the heavy batteries, it weighs 5,225 pounds.
Final Thoughts
While the odds are honestly still in favor of the Taycan Turbo S, given the instantaneous torque from the moment you floor that A-pedal, but can the Aventador SV touch the finish line first? I’m not going to spill the result here, but in a similar contest recently, we saw the Lamborghini Huracan Performante obliterate the Tesla Model S. Can the Italian supercar prevail against the silent German speedster? Watch the video to find out and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
