Owning a supercar is the dream of many gearheads, but with anything coming out of Maranello or Sant’Agata Bolognese these days trading hands for well over $200,000, it’s almost impossible for most people to actually boast that they have such a car in their garage. Even a basic Porsche 718 Cayman isn’t cheap when compared to a standard Toyota Corolla or anything else that people buy in droves. That’s why your best bet is to simply rent one of these prized exotic machines. Don’t expect Camry rates when going out to get a Huracan for the weekend but, at least, you won’t have to put a second mortgage on your house to afford it.
Just picture it: you with your favorite pair of sunglasses on sitting behind the wheel of a topless Lamborghini with the engine idling, ready for your command to fling forwards towards the horizon. It sounds like one of the best dreams you can ever hope to have but that’s the issue: it’s only a dream. Supercar ownership is out of reach for most of us - unless, finally, your luck turns around and you win the lottery. Luxury car renting companies know that and are always prepared to hand you the keys of a mid-engined thoroughbred. But don’t drive it like you stole it!
There are a lot of variables when renting an exotic car
If you’ve rented a car before, you know that the price per day depends on the type of vehicle you choose, the company you rent it from, your age, and your history as a driver. Most companies will charge you more to rent a car if you’re under the age of 25 and things get even stricter when it comes to renting a luxury car: quite a few of luxury car renting companies out there simply won’t give you the keys to anything they’ve got in their fleets if you’re under the age of 25.
What is more, all companies will ask for your insurance to make sure it’s fully transferable and security deposits are the norm. You must also keep in mind that price varies depending on when you want to rent the car and, on top of that, many companies would rather if you rented the car for two or three days at a time, especially if you want it during the weekend.
Lamborghini's three models, the $205,000 Urus, the $421,000 Aventador, and the $203,000 Huracan are quite easy to find and most companies are capable of dispatching the car to you no matter where you are in the U.S. - if you aren't able to make your way to one of their locations in person.
The Huracan, Lamborghini’s cheapest offering right now, is available from a multitude of rental companies. MVP Miami, for instance, boasts with an impressive variety of Huracans including a number of Spider models, a couple of Mansory-tuned coupes, and, also a base 2016 MY coupe that starts at $999 a day. The price to rent a spider is $1,199 a day before adding other fees. The security deposit ranges from $1,000 to $7,000 depending on the car you choose, so prepare to have a few thousand dollars readied up for when you head to pick up your dream ride. This particular company charges you $3 per mile covered while others allow you to drive a limited number of miles for free within the given timeframe before starting to charge you for every extra mile you’ve covered.
Gotham Dream Cars, for instance, includes in the daily price 100 free miles but any extra mile will cost you $4.95 while the deposit is a cool $5,000. Also, the price per day is a lot higher, anywhere between $1,950 to $4,450. Royalty Exotic Cars charges $1,499 per day for either a Huracan or a Huracan Performante but is also willing to let you run amok (well, not really) with one of their Bulls for four hours and that’ll set you back $749. Few companies let you rent a Lamborghini for one hour but YouTuber Samcrac found one and filmed a vlog on the whole experience. Through the usage of coupons, he was able to secure a Huracan Coupe for one hour in the Las Vegas area for just $99 plus some added fees. What is more, Dream Exotics will rent you the car even if you’re aged between 21 and 24 for a surcharge. You can also rent a Huracan via Enterprise but the price varies depending on your location and the period you rent the car for.

The spiritual successor of the LM002 is Lamborghini’s only SUV on sale right now. In fact, the Italians would like it if you called the Urus a ’super-SUV’ due to its bundles of power and torque that translate into insane 0-60 mph times and a supercar-esque top speed. Royalty Exotic Cars will rent you an Urus for just $999 a day or $749 for four hours but that’s one offer that nobody will be interested in. Centurion Lifestyle in Beverly Hills, California, charges $1,499 per day but this price may go up depending on when you need the model. MVP Miami’s price is $1,699 per day with a suggested 10:00 AM pick-up/drop-off time.
Usually, you won't get more than 115 free miles per day and you must bring the car back to the dealer with the same amount of fuel it had in the tank when you picked it up, just like with any other rental.

The last great naturally aspirated V-12-powered ’big’ Lamborghini is, just as well, available to pick up and have fun with for a day or two (or more). MVP Miami’s price of $1,899 per day is the same regardless of your choice of a standard Aventador Spider or one with the Novitec tuning kit on. Likewise, Royalty Exotic Cars makes no difference between the coupe version and the Spider, both priced from $1,999 per day. Gotham Dream Cars’ pricing is again steeper than much of the competition: anywhere between $2,250 and $5,450 per day with 100 miles included and a $7,500 security deposit. In other words, if you are to rent an Aventador Coupe from that dealer for 24 hours during the weekend when prices are sky-high, you’re displacing a total of $12,950. Quite a lot of money when you consider that the cheapest new car in the U.S. is the $15,125 Chevy Spark.
Of course, the looks you'll get when stepping out of an Aventador, avoiding the dihedral doors, is worth every penny you pay.
At the end of the day, it’s all about experiencing things that, otherwise, you’d probably never get to try out for yourself. On a side note, there are still dealers that have in their inventory Gallardos to rent. Broadway Supercars charges $1,000 per weekday, $1,525 per weekend day, and almost $3,000 for a three-day weekend extravaganza (the equivalent of 250 free miles).
