Drift & Gymkhana legend, Ken Block, is selling his modified 1977 F-150 truck for crazy amounts of money
by Khris Bharath, onKen Block startled his followers and the motorsport world by announcing the end of his over-decade-long partnership with Ford at the beginning of 2021. After a decade of living and breathing the vehicles with the blue oval, several of his renowned gymkhana and rallycross vehicles have gone up for sale in the six months following that announcement. Since the year began, Block has been steadily selling several modified Ford cars in his garage.
The most sought-after of his vehicles from his fleet is now up for sale. Yes, the Hoonitruck is for sale. Here’s what you need to know.
Ken Blocks Hoonitruck can be yours for $1.1 Million
This heavily modified1977 Ford F-150 joined the Block fleet back in 2018 and was unveiled at SEMA. The tubular frame truck was built from the ground up, inlcuding new aluminum body panels, so it looks like a 77 F-150 on the outside. But something really special lurks underneath the metal.
Under and through the hood lies a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 from a Ford GT Le Mans race car with about 930 horses (682 kilowatts). It has the potential of becoming the most expensive F-150 ever if Ken Block has his way.
Engine | 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 |
---|---|
Power | 930 HP @ 7,400 rpm |
Torque | 702 lb-ft @ 6,450 rpm |
Transmission | Sadev six-speed |
All four wheels are driven by a Sadev six-speed gearbox, but you already knew that because he performed some truly incredible power slides in Gymkhana 10.
The collection also contains a wealth of spare parts such as wheels, body panels, lighting, suspension components, and maybe the most intriguing extra of all: that Le Mans Ford GT 3.5-liter V6.
We believe that just this section will be of substantial value to buyers.
The Hoonitruck will set you back a cool $1.1 million (around €921,000). Although more than $1 million is a large sum of money, the extravagant pick-up will undoubtedly find a buyer and make a wealthy drift enthusiast very happy.
Block has entrusted LBI Limited with completing the sale. The car is now available at the exotic dealer’s showroom in Pontiac, Michigan. We can’t wait to see what else Ken Block pulls out of his garage.
