Watch The Lamborghini Urus Fight It Out Against The Audi TT-RS, The Porsche Cayman GT4, and The Volkswagen Golf R
by Sidd Dhimaan
Mat Watson and his team from ‘Carwow’ pit four very different vehicles against each other on the drag strip. The mix included a Lamborghini Urus, a Porsche Cayman GT4, an Audi TT-RS, and a Volkswagen Golf R. With the difference in size, shape, weight, and engine capacities, the race is quite unpredictable.
The Lambo Has A Distinct Advantage In Terms Of Specs
Power is sent to all the wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Power is routed to the rear wheels exclusively via the famed seven-speed PDK.
It is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system.
It is also mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system.
The Urus weighs 4,848 pounds, making it significantly heavier than its rivals. The four-pot 3,419-pound Golf R is next in line, despite featuring the smallest engine. The Cayman GT4 and the TT-RS weigh the same – 3,197 pounds.
In the first standing drag race, the Urus got a pretty good start and stayed in the front all the way. The Audi and the Porsche fought till the end for the second position, but the latter seemed to have pipped it by the nose at the finish line. They raced again with the Porsche’s Traction Control on. It made a difference as it managed to get ahead of the Audi straight away. The result was the same this time, too. They raced yet again, just for the heck of it, and it didn’t make any difference whatsoever. Coming to the timings, the Urus took 11.5 seconds to complete the quarter-mile. The Cayman GT4 took 11.8 seconds, the Audi TT-RS took 11.9 seconds, and the Volkswagen Golf R took 12.7 seconds.
Next up was the rolling race from 50 mph in automatic mode and comfort setting. The Porsche had the best kickdown. The Polo also was surprisingly impressive at the start, but soon lost the plot. In the end, the Porsche won the race, followed by the Urus, the Audi, and the Volkswagen.
The next rolling race was from 50 mph in third gear and the sportiest setting. The Urus got back to its winning ways this time, but surprisingly, the Porsche came third. The Audi took its drag race revenge against its fellow German to claim the second position. The Polo, on the other hand, was just… there.
The final round was a brake test from 70 mph. The Audi TT-RS stopped in the distance, then it was the Golf R, then the Urus, and at last, the Cayman GT4.
