Overview
Now the Supra be it the older gen the latest one really needs no introduction and is a JDM icon. It is hands down already quite cool, but that simply wasn’t enough for whoever put this one together.
YouTuber AdamC3046 was out attending the Battalion30Five’s meet at Caffeine & Machine in the UK and at the event was north of 100 GT-R’s But among the Godzilla’s, one really crazy build stood out. It was of course this lifted Supra.
The Lifted Supra With a Tank Engine
Sitting next to a bunch of R35 GT-Rs was a high riding MK4 Supra finished in apocalypse spec matte black, which if I’m honest really suits this build. It was sitting there with its hood wide open. The car (if you can even call it that) is also rocking a wide body kit with flared fenders.
This Supra belongs to derv_supra. Now how exactly did these guys manage to fit a turbo-charged tank engine in the tight Supra is a mystery and fit it does, like a glove. We don’t really have the numbers on this one, but considering that this mill was once used to lug around a battle-bred tank, expect it to be big. Walking around the car, you can see that it’s still got the stock headlights, however, you’ll find a gaping hole to let in air for the massive radiator through the custom bumper if you can even call it that.
This one looks like it was purpose-built to take on some land mines. Moving to the side you’ve got some nice off-road tires with an extended side still and some custom rearview mirrors, which I think is a cool touch. You’ve even got a roof rack, which looks like the best place to put the spare off-road wheel. A pair of light bars mounted to that roof rack, finish off the front end nicely.
Moving to the rear, you’ve probably never seen a Supra with, wait for it a tow bar. Yes, you heard that right. With the might of a diesel tank mill, I’m sure that towing with this thing should be a breeze. The rear end looks particularly nice, because it still retains the form of an original supra, with that giant rear wing and those iconic lights. A peek inside also reveals a pretty stock-looking 90s interior with a pair of Sparco racing seats, however, the shifter has been swapped out for a different one that’s compatible with the diesel engine.
Brief moments later, the guy who owns this Supra came along and fired it up. Now while you’re probably used to a high pitch whine with a Supra, this one sounds more like a Semi, and instead of flames, it’s spitting black fumes. Surprisingly, the car has air suspension as well. It dropped to its lowest setting, making it look even more purposeful.
To Sum It Up
Now does this build make any sense whatsoever? The answer is probably no. But does it turn heads? Hell yeah and it’s builds like these that really do draw in the crowds, don’t they? The purpose of such a vehicle, you could obviously hit the trail or even beyond with a Supra like this one, and you’ll probably even make it there with ease, given the clearance and torque of this beast.
