The new Lamborghini Countach is an Aventador with the original Countach vibes, but it missed out on a few very important elements and cues

The automaker revived the moniker on its 50th anniversary and based it on the Aventador. While the new Countach came with a lot of elements from the yesteryear model, it wasn’t as old school as a lot of people expected it to be. For a modern car with retro vibes, it did well. But, for a moniker as beloved as the Countach, the car missed out on a lot of stuff.
Since the looks drew polarizing opinions, some rendering artists took it upon themselves to show us what the Countach could’ve looked like if it was a lot more retro and old-school. One of them is Siim Pärn who shared his renderings with us.
Some Important Elements That The New Countach Missed
There are some design cues that Lamborghini has incorporated into this reskinned Aventador, like the flat nose, the headlights with a depression, the wedge shape, the scissor doors, and the NACA air ducts. It isn’t just from the original LP400 alone since the cues are borrowed from the LP400 S and the LP 5000 S QV as well.
However, there were a lot of things synonymous with the original model that weren’t incorporated here. I’m sure Lamborghini has its reasoning for it, but stuff like the big wing at the rear, the massive fender flares, and the pop-up headlights missed out. Siim’s renderings have the rear wing and the flared fenders, but not the pop-up headlights. But, these two things themselves have made such a huge difference to the appearance. What’s Special About The 2022 Lamborghini Countach?
- Based on the Aventador
- Powered by a 6.5-liter, naturally aspirated V-12 engine with an electric motor
- Produces 803 horses and 557 pound-feet of torque combined
- Seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system
- 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, 0-124 mph in 8.6 seconds. Redlines at 8,700 rpm
- Top speed rated at 221 mph
- Features a carbon fiber monocoque with aluminum front and rear frames
- Old-school elements like the flat nose, the wedge shape, the NACA air ducts, etc. are present
- No massive fender flares, no rear wing, and so on
- Rides on 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch at the rear
- Wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber all around
- Countach badges, red upholstery, and carbon fiber elements inside the cabin
- Limited to 112 examples as an homage to the LP-112 prototype
- Priced close to $2.6 million and all the 112 copies are sold out
- Deliveries to commence from the first quarter of 2022
