Porsche Adds New Classic Colors To Its Paint-To-Sample Program
Porsche takes exclusivity to the next level. Over 160 new colors available, with some classic ones making a comeback

Porsche Exclusive Manifaktur has recognized the increased demand for custom colors, in recent years and has introduced the new Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus options. After Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program, this is the next step in exclusivity for the German carmaker.
Porsche is an old name with rich history, which gives plenty of opportunities when it comes to special colors. According to a Hagerty poll, the 10 most popular Porsche colors are Guards Red, Mexico Blue, GT Silver, Miami Blue, Black, Speed Yellow, Alpine White, Oak Green, Forest Green, and Irish Green.
Some other popular colors are Chalk, which is a unique and inconspicuous share of grey, Carmine Red, normally reserved for the GTS models, but nowadays available for other versions, and Lava Orange – the bright shade of orange that harkens back to 911 models from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as the 997 GT3 RS. and the 992 GT3 RS.
Alexander Fabig, Head of Individualization and Classic says: “Unusual paint finishes have been familiar throughout the history of our brand and are an important differentiating feature. With this offer, we are reviving cult-classic colors and expanding the extensive range of standard and special colors across all the model series by more than 160 shades”.
The German carmaker is taking its color-brewing techniques to the max, with a new color-mixing bench at the Zuffenhausen plant. There, paint specialists will mix several dozen ingredients to get the perfect desired shade. One batch will be responsible for the bodywork, while the other, for add-on parts. Porsche cars feature a variety of materials, such as aluminum, plastic, fiberglass, carbon, and other composite materials, necessitating the use of different color-applying techniques.
We have said in the past that few manufacturers are both innovative, yet nostalgic as Porsche. With this in mind, colors like the Maritime Blue, Mint Green, and Rubystar, known from classic models like the Porsche 964, are also making a comeback.
With this, Porsche Exclusive Manifaktur is introducing one of the most comprehensive color option lists, ever made. The 911 and 718 models, alone, will get over 100 new colors, while another 50 will be available for the Panamera, Cayenne, and Macan. Taycan customers will be able to choose from additional 65 colors. For the ultimate exclusivity, Porsche’s Paint to Sample Plus program will let you configure your own unique color, with almost no limits. This will be available for the 911, 718, and Taycan models.
