2023 Honda Civic Type-R - gallery

We finally get a glimpse of the 2023 Honda Civic Type-R and things look promising.

The upcoming hot version of the Civic seems to follow a very similar formula to the previous one.

It seems the Civic's transition from hatchback to a fastback style is finally complete.

Not that it's a priority, but this would probably turn the Type-R into a more practical hot-hatch.

Once again, we get a big rear wing, but this time it might be adjustable. This could also be an optional extra.

The tri-exhaust tips make a comeback, but they seem different than before. Could we get an active exhaust this time?

The camouflage still hides a lot of the bodywork, but it seems the new Civic Type-R design is much less busy.

Just no more fake vents, okay Honda? We've had enough of that!

It's hard not to notice the obligatory bigger wheels and Brembo brakes, as well as the lower suspension.

Honda has given us some great chassis, so we expect a noticeable improvement there as well.

The 2.0-liter turbo-four is expected to get a slight bump in power and torque. Just enough to make it worth the MSRP, compared to a used FK8.

Then again, Honda has never used the exact same engine on a Type-R more than twice, so could we see a new engine?

To our knowledge, the Civic Type-R will continue to be a non-hybrid vehicle and will be offered as a manual-only. Enthusiasts, rejoice!
