It should receive small updates to both the front and the rear, but the engine lineup will remain unchanged
by Alina Moore, on LISTEN 01:34Mercedes launched the fourth generation A-Class back in 2018, in both hatchback and sedan versions. Well, hatchback for the rest of the world, and sedan for the States. Now, almost four years later, the A-Class is due for a small update and spy photographers caught both the hatchback and the sedan prototypes out for testing session. This time it was the sedan that was caught testing around the artic circle. Rumors suggest an official debut should happen in the first half of 2022.
As the spy shots reveal the A-Class sedan will only receive some minor updates - hence the very little camouflage.
Up front we expect the facelifted A-Class to receive a redesigned front bumper, a new grille and slightly modified headlights.
Numerous rumors also suggest that the front Mercedes logo will also house the sensor for the electronic driver-assist systems.
As for the rear, it looks like the rear bumper and the diffuser will be modified, and the taillights will receive a more modern look. There are no images of the interior, but we expect to see a larger touchscreen with the latest version of the MBUX infotainment system.
The facelift will most likely retain the usual lineup: a 1.3-liter turbo-four offered in two versions - one with 134 horsepower and the other one with 161 horsepower and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel.
