• Lamborghini on the fence between building the Estoque or the LM00X SUV

A few days ago, a report came out that Lamborghini is teaming up with Porsche to build its very own SUV that will be based on the latter’s latest GT architecture. While this news poses a shift in philosophy for the Raging Bull and could potentially undermine its tradition, the latest word - at least according to Car and Driver - is that Lamborghini is on the fence on which model will join the Gallardo and the Aventador in the lineup.

Apart from this long-rumored SUV - it’s been codenamed as the ’LM00X’ - the other choice is the production of the Estoque. The Italian automaker is considering both vehicles, but has made it known that only one is going to be green-lighted for production.

While no decisions have been made yet, the company is looking at October as the time to decide. As it stands the SUV has a slight edge over the Estoque because the car will be on a class of its own as far as high-end SUVs are concerned whereas the Estoque will have its hands full going up against competitors like the Porsche Panamera Turbo S, the Aston Martin Rapide, and the recently launched Ferrari FF.

The final decision is still a few months away, but it’s never too early to put your two cents in. For us, we prefer seeing the Estoque finally come alive after years of drooling over it. Besides, just like Ferrari, the words ’Lamborghini’ and ’SUV’ don’t belong in the same sentence.

Let us know which model you prefer in the comments section below.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read full bio

They should probably go for the Estoque. It will be able to take the FF head on.

As expected from the Lamborghini car it has an impressive performance as well as its look! The competitor of this production vehicle are quite tough when it comes to speed performance.

The future line up of the Lamborghini have an impressive performance. I like the sportiness of this vehicle. I bet the aftermarket version of the car would be lovelier.

Well, in my case, I am bery open to them coming out with a new model. But I also agree that they should continue the development of the Estoque, that one is definitely a great looking car.

Yeah, I would agree, it would be better if they proceed with the Estoque’s production version. They already have done the concept and many liked it, so there is really no point in stopping now that they have announced the possibility of a production version.

Well, if I were them, I would really go more for the Estoque, rather than going for the SUV. Let’s face it, Lamborghini is known more for sports cars, so there is really no need to shift now.

I think its better if they go with the Estoque one. It has cooler presence plus again, they can compete with the Ferrari FF.

The Lamborghini SUV concept looks a bit weird, it’s more like a Murcielago with too much steroids rather than a proper SUV. But let’s just wait and see what they would come up with.

I would like to see a four door version of this car rather than a SUV model. I have seen the images as well and its concept really look so odd! I will consider to buy its competitor compare to this car!

The debut of the LM00X will be out later on 2012.

Does it mean that the platform of the crossover vehicle is differ from the SUV?

I have seen the images of the crossover and SUV in the gallery and IMO I don’t find them good looking. Well, let’s see if the Lamborghini will released this as production car or not.

I like both, but since I need to pick one, I’d prefer to see the Estoque in production, as long as the design remains the same... and as long as i see one on the road somewhere. "Now, where’s that Aston Martin Rapide?"
