The Chinese automotive industry has been steadily gathering momentum and they are now offering some viable alternatives, especially in the more affordable price range. Not long ago, Geely’s upscale brand, Lync & Co introduced its newest model – the 06. Regardless of the name, this is actually the smallest and also fifth model of the luxury brand. The Lynk & Co is a compact SUV, aimed at younger buyers.

Lynk & Co is not exactly popular outside China, but it’s been doing well in the Asian country and it’s looking to expand in the near future. The brand is already selling five different vehicles, which share underpinnings with Volvo, as both Lynk & Co and the Swedish carmaker are owned by Geely. At the 2020 Beijing Auto Show, Lynk & Co unveiled the Zero Concept, a crossover that previews an upcoming production model with an all-electric drivetrain.

Established in 2016, Lynk & Co is a Chinese brand owned by Geely, the same group that owns Volvo. Lynk & Co cars are positioned between those from Geely and Volvo, so they’re pretty much entry-level premium products. Although it’s a very young company, Lynk & Co has already introduced six different models in three years, all based on the Compact Modular Architecture that underpins the Volvo XC40 and the Polestar 2.

Among them there’s the 03, a compact sedan that’s now available in a sporty version with a "+" badge. Sports sedans are something you see very often coming from China, so YouTube’s Wheelsboy got his hands on one to find out what it’s all about.

Nürburgring lap records are a way bigger deal today than they used to be. That’s due to the fact that pretty much every carmaker is heading to Germany sooner or later during R&D and pre-production testing to see whether their new cars can overcome the dynamic challenges the Green Hell poses. Believe it or not, the Nürburgring has seen its fair share of non-sporty cars being tried and tested on its bends. One such car that pops into mind immediately is the Toyota C-HR crossover, a car that’s supposed to, first and foremost, greet its owners with comfort. But that’s a story for another time.

Coming back to the topic at hand, Jaguar and Renault have just been dethroned as Nürburgring record holders by the 528-horsepower, front-wheel-drive, Lynk & Co 03 Cyan Concept sedan. Yes, the car is still a concept and officially speaking, what it just pulled off on the ‘Ring might not hold much weight in that regard, but technically, the feat is no less impressive and valid.

Get ready for yet another coupe-like SUV, this time from a fledgling manufacturer that has yet to establish itself: Lynk & Co. This time the vehicle in question currently doesn’t yet have a name, but we do know it is the more rakish and slightly less practical version of the high-riding 01 model.

The vehicle was recently spotted by our spies under thick camouflage, but we are able to make out its

inspired rear end design, as well as the same front end as on the 01 - the car in the photos looks like it’s the same until the B-pillar, but from there on its roofline dips in fastback style.

Its interior and engine range will be the same, although the coupe variant of the SUV may come with sportier suspension tuning and slightly less emphasis on comfort - this is also what other manufacturers that have such vehicles do to give these models more than just a visual differentiation.

And in the not too distant future, we may start to see lots of Lynk & Co vehicles not only in Europe but also the States. Geely, the Chinese automotive giant that owns Lynk & Co (as well as Volvo), is examining possibilities to open manufacturing facilities in Gent, Belgiu as well as in North Carolina.

Lynk & Co is a Chinese mobility company owned by Geely (the same parent company to Volvo), and the simply named 01 is its first production vehicle. It’s a high-riding crossover that shares its platform and drivetrain with the Volvo XC40 - they both use the Swedish manufacturer’s modular CMA chassis architecture.

The 01 has been on sale in China for over a year now, and the company’s initial plan was to start selling it in Europe as of next year. But European automotive journos have had a chance to drive the 01 in production form, and first impressions were very positive.

It looks interesting and distinctive in person, according to first impressions from those who’ve driven it, and the level of fit and finish quality is also high. The driving experience is also rated as good, showing its link to the excellent XC40.

Its designer is actually the same person who penned some of the newest Volvo models, Peter Horbury, and his team. The 01 is definitely a bit strange to behold for European and American tastes, but still familiar enough to not be considered ugly. In other words, its design is much more in tune with Chinese tastes in automotive design, than it is with what Europeans or Americans want, but we wouldn’t call it ugly.

However, the really unique part of the Lynk & Co proposal is the subscription-based way you will be able to get behind the wheel. They will not sell you the car, but instead, present you with a choice of cars in different specs that’ll you’ll subscribe to from month to month. According to the company, this is said to eliminate the stress associated with car ownership (maintenance, servicing and insurance) all of which will be taken care of by Lynk & Co.

The system is currently being tested in China, and if it proves successful, it will be adopted once Lynk & Co hits Europe. You will be able to buy one outright, but the company expects that 70 percent of its customers will opt for the subscription, arguing that people will appreciate the flexibility of being able to return the car at the end of the month, instead of when a conventional lease is concluded.

The plan is to introduce it in Europe in 2019, but there are no guarantees that they will be able to stick to it.

There’s certainly no shortage of compact crossovers out there, but now it’s looking like the game might see a pretty big change in the future. That’s because Lynk & Co is gearing up to offer the 02 stateside, bringing a mix of new ownership models, new styling, and affordable technology to the already saturated compact crossover market.

The 02 made its debut in the spring of 2018, with a full reveal in Holland on March 26th, and it’s already available in China. Up next, the 02 will head to Europe, with a U.S. debut planned for sometime around 2021. The 02 is essentially a smaller, sportier version of the Lynk & Co 01, and like its bigger sibling, the 02 comes with a raft of features bearing both European and Chinese influences. The question is - how will it fit in on these shores?

Lynk & Co is a new car brand created by Volvo owners Geely, and the Lynk & Co 03 sedan is the first production model. In order to promote the car and attract attention, Lynk & Co has enlisted the help of Cyan Racing to create this purposeful-looking touring car that will actually take part in the 2019 TCR racing series.

Cyan Racing has worked with Volvo to prepare their race cars since 1996, but now it’s working on the Lynk & Co sedan to have it ready for next year. The vehicle you see in the photos is a concept that looks like the racer, but it isn’t really ready yet - it is a study.

It is based on the same underpinnings as a Volvo XC40, but looks nothing like a Volvo either outside, or inside (although the latter won’t matter as much because this racer has a completely stripped out interior).

Lynk & Co 03 TCR car is also being worked on by the newly formed Geely Group Motorsport, which as its name suggests is the motorsport arm of the Chinese automotive giant. Development work on the racing car actually started in early 2018, and Lync & Co is expected to take delivery of the first cars in 2019, before the start of the FIA WTCR championship.

Price for one is €130.000 or $149,090.

Starting a car company is like trying to reinvent the wheel. In other words, it’s almost impossible. It all comes down to offering something no one has offered before and making a marketing campaign so massive it would leave Coca-Cola PRs impressed. Pagani survived thanks to its exceptionally expensive and detailed cars, Tesla offered the first appealing electric cars, while Rimac is still fighting its way in the world of cars without actually producing any (except for some hypercars).

Rimac is developing tech, and things could stay at that. However, we have a newcomer to the world of cars. It is from China and in its first three years among the living it is doing well. At least considering what we can see on the surface.

Lynk & Co was launched as a new company by Zhejiang Geely Holding in 2015. These people own Volvo and are actually sharing Volvo technology with all the cars produced under the Lynk & Co name. While this is a formidable alliance, it is not in itself the most important fact about Lynk & Co. As reported right at the get-go, Lynk & Co cars will be the most connected cars on earth, and they will all offer a special subscription service that releases its users from any hurdles of car ownership.

In essence, like TopGear and many others have reported - Lynk & Co is the Netflix of cars. You subscribe to it via monthly payments and choose a car of your liking. You do not buy, own, maintain, insure, register or take care of anything except for driving. Lynk & Co will do it all for you.

Lynk & Co 03 is the Chinese company’s third production model. Previewed by a concept car in 2017, it became a production vehicle in 2018. The sedan made its debut in China, but it will soon be sold in Europe, and maybe even in the United States in the future.

The 03 joins the 01 and 03 SUVs to form a three-vehicle lineup only two years since the brand was established. Owned by Geely, the same company that purchased Volvo in 2010, Lynk & Co is positioned between those of the Geely brand and the Swedish carmaker. The 03 rides on the Compact Modular Architecture platform that also underpins the Volvo XC40 and will underpin the next-generation S40 sedan. Unfortunately, the 03 had a rather quiet release, and we don’t know much about the European version.

Lynk & Co started out as a curious novelty, but since launching the intriguing 01 SUV in 2017, the Geely-owned start-up is now turning more than a few curious heads. In a span of a year, Lynk & Co has gone from launching the 01 to doing succeeding unveilings of the 02 and 03. Now, the brand’s fourth model — a hatchback — takes center stage, thanks in large part to a new batch of spy photos showing the car in proper prototype form, complete with thick black wraps and lots of camouflage. The model is tentatively called the "04," and it has the makings of being a serious challenger in a market dominated by heavyweights like the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf, and Chevrolet Cruze.

These days in the car world, everyone is looking for “the next big thing,” whether it’s some new convenience technology, some new powertrain technology, or some new model to entice buyers. However, for Lynk & Co, it’s all of the above as it gears up to introduce new all-electric vehicles built specifically for the sharing economy. In a recent interview, Lynk & Co boss Alain Visser said it was focused on competing with ride-hailing apps like Uber and Lyft, rather than the old guard of traditional automakers.

Lynk & Co. is making another statement with the launch of its latest vehicle, the eponymously named 02 crossover. Unveiled in Amsterdam, the 02 — it’s pronounced as “zero-two” — is the latest creation from the off-the-cuff sub-brand that Chinese automaker Geely created in 2016. Despite its name, the 02 is actually the third model to come out of Lynk & Co., following in the footsteps already laid by the 01 SUV and the 03 saloon. The compact crossover is expected to spearhead the automaker’s plan to ingratiate itself to a younger market that embraces a “shareable and ultra-connected” lifestyle with plans to offer the model online or through a subscription service.

From a mysterious start-up a year ago to a record-breaking company today, Lynk & Co is living it up in the auto industry. The Geely-owned car brand that prides itself more on being a connected and sharable mobility brand than a traditional automaker has made headlines for receiving 6,000 orders for the 01 SUV, all in a span of 137 seconds. The record sales event occurred after Lynk & Co’s first online store started pre-selling the 01 SUV on November 17. What was supposed to be a three-day sales event took less than three minutes to complete, a startling pace for a company that only has one model in its portfolio, and is itself barely a year old.
