Performance luxury sedans are the perfect middle ground for those seeking comfort, practicality and performance in a single package. And while we have gotten plenty of great examples like the BMW M5, Mercedes AMG GT63, Porsche Panamera, and others, there are those that came to us as concepts, but never delivered in the real world. Here are the most prominent culprits.

The Bentley Bentayga is one of the most luxurious and opulent SUVs that money can buy you today. While it is a sufficiently big vehicle with a decently long wheelbase, there is a demand for a more spacious Bentayga in certain markets. We can attest to this because a long-wheelbase version of the Bentayga has been spied winter testing in Sweden.

Few cars out there look as sinister as a black, 1970s Cadillac Hearse. Apparently, the people at Detroit Muscle thought it would be a good idea to bring a neglected, 1976 example back from the dead. The YouTube video from "POWERNATION" is full of subtle black humor, as it resonates with the type of project, presented here. After initial sketches of the TacoZilla were shown by Toyota a couple of weeks ago, the Japanese automaker has now officially taken the wraps off of their concept of an Overlander at SEMA 2021. It uses the Tacoma TRD Sport pickup truck as its base and was built by Marty Schwerter and his team from Toyota Motorsport.

A while back, we talked about how Mazda is in the process of reinventing itself. The Japanese carmaker shared, on its official newsroom that three new SUV models are coming out by 2023 and that the expansion of its lineup will be accompanied by upgraded dealer facilities. Mazda’s transition to a more upscale image has never been more apparent and we are going to see the first models with longitudinally-mounted inline-six engines debut as early as 2022.

What has the world come to? Just a decade ago, you wouldn’t think much of pick-up trucks in terms of straight-line acceleration. Sure, we’ve had things like the Ford Lightning or the GMC Syclone, but nowadays, you can buy a pick-up truck with well-over 600 and even 700 horsepower out the box. On today’s drag racing video from Sam CarLegion, we have a RAM 1500 TRX going up against a Ford F-150 Roush. The goal is simple – to find out who’s quicker at the quarter-mile.

When you think of iconic, classic American cars, Cadillac Coupe DeVille, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette, and Dodge Challenger are, often, some of the first to come to mind. And while each of them has had their fair share of special editions, we can’t help but wonder what classic American cars can be like, with a European twist. Whether it’s their design or an unusual engineering solution, these are the most obscure American classic cars ever to exist.

Daimler debuts its very first all-electric Maybach, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS concept, at the IAA show in Munich. This SUV is a glimpse of what the production car will look like.

Audi’s onslaught in the EV segment continues. Less than a month after debuting the convertible two-seater Skysphere concept, the automaker has now unveiled another concept; this time a four-door concept called the Grandsphere. The concept comes with interesting specs like a dual motor setup, 711 horses and 708 pound-feet of torque, 0-62 mph in just over four seconds, etc. The stretched model which Audi calls “private jet for the roads” is surprisingly even longer than some Ford F-150 models! Seems like an interesting product, doesn’t it?

Lincoln debuted the 2022 Navigator with a fresh face and a whole lot of tech upgrades. The tech upgrades include a bigger touchscreen system and hands-free technology called the Lincoln Glide that’s a disguised Ford BlueCruise system. The SUV will also support over-the-air updates to save time at the dealerships. Things under the skin, however, are nearly identical to the 2021 model, with the only change being the loss of 10 horses from the model it replaces.

Toyota just showed off a limited edition model of its iconic Land Cruiser. It commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Land Cruiser family, the very first model of which debuted on August 1, 1951. Yes, you heard that right, since the Land Cruiser is 70 years old, what better way to celebrate than with a limited edition of one of Toyota’s most iconic models that is still in production to this day. However, this special edition, based on the top-of-the-line GXL trim of the 70 series, will only be available in select markets around the world.

If we’re being honest here, the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class was just a matter of when not if. So here it is in all its chrome-y flashiness, coming to satisfy the needs and desires of those who believe the regular S-Class simply won’t cut it.

California-based camper manufacturer Nimbl has designed a motorhome based on the Ford F-350. Campers and trailer homes are becoming popular these days and Nimbl has joined the bandwagon.

This camper-manufacturer has an ideal expedition vehicle based on the F-350, called the Evolution. The Motorhome is loaded to the gills and comes with all the creature comforts you can ask for. If you’re someone who loves road trips and likes to stay on the road for months together, the Evolution will be a perfect match. However, Nimbl is selling this product for $249,000. Are you willing to spend that much on a motorhome?

Rumors about an all-electric version of the Hummer have been soaring over the internet for a while, but it looks like they will finally come to fruition thanks to GM.

According to a report concocted by The Wall Street Journal, General Motors will breathe life into the discontinued Hummer nameplate as it wants to place it on a new electric pickup truck.

The Infiniti QX80 isn’t exactly a spring chicken. If you count the three years that it was on the market as the “QX56,” this full-size SUV has been on the market for nearly a decade. This is a rather long lifestyle for an SUV in today’s automotive climate, but the QX80 is a very niche vehicle; not in size and purpose but in terms of sales for the brand. When you look at overall sales of the QX80, the figures don’t look that great. In 2016, Chevy sold more than 103,000 Tahoes, and even Cadillac sold some 23,000 examples of the Escalade. The QX80, though? Infiniti moved just 14,085 over all of 2016, and that was an 8.3-percent increase over 2015. With that in mind, the company can’t exactly give it a short lifespan like other automakers can their full-sized, wide-selling SUVs.

That doesn’t mean the QX80 has been ignored, however. On the contrary, it was actually refreshed when Infiniti swapped its name over from QX56, and it was refreshed again in 2017. The overall appearance of the QX80 isn’t displeasing to look at, and when we were offered the chance to spend a few days and give it a good thorough test drive, we couldn’t turn down the offer. Immediately we started asking ourselves questions: Can it still hold its own in a market with much newer, more advanced vehicles? Does it’s aged chassis still deliver driving dynamics and comfortability that’s on par with other full-sized, luxury SUVs on the market today? Should someone really pay anywhere between $65,000 and upward of $90,000 for a vehicle that’s due for retirement? Well, we’ve set out to figure out just how well the QX80 has aged over the years – you just might be surprised.

The Italian automaker, known for creating raging bulls that have been every child’s dream at some point in life, is actually known for much more than just the super fast hypercars it is known for lately. Speak to the Generation X folks, and they will reminisce Lamborghini as a company that once used to build a hardcore truck that made them go weak in the knees. Fast forward to 2019, and the company is actually considering the prospect of building an SUV that falls in line with the iconic LM002. Time to pop that bottle of 1986 Disaronno again!

The 2020 GLE is about to hit the US showrooms in late spring 2019, and let me tell to all SUV buyers out there, wait for it! This new generation is absolutely ground breaking when it comes to technology. No wonder Mercedes-Benz skipped the 2019 year model and jump straight into 2020. The new infotainment system called MBUX is stunning to look at and I wondered how I lived before without the self driving capabilities offered in these kind of vehicles. Nikola was founded in early 2016 and announced plans to make a production version of the big rig concept they showed at the time, one which they planned to make and sell for North America. Two years later and the company has come out with this futuristic looking concept for a truck destined to exclusively operate in Europe, although it uses the same hydrogen-electric setup as the original concept.

Let’s not beat around the bush – the Divo does, kind of, look like a Chiron at a glance. But then you look at it, and it becomes clear that there’s a lot of tweaks and changes that make the Divo what it is – and agiler, corner-eating beast from which there is no escape. These things just ooze opulence from every pore, and now there’s a new one sporting a restyled front end, new interior color schemes, and the latest audio entertainment features, all packed into more 20 feet of baller automobile.

Ford’s smallest van, the Transit Connect, has just received a facelift at the 2018 Chicago Motor Show. Exterior updates are mild and interior upgrades are mostly about new tech and options, but there’s big news under the skin, in the form of a brand-new diesel engine.

The outer shell of the van remained largely unchanged on the sides and around back, but the front fascia now sports the company’s latest corporate face. The large grille seen in the newer models found its way on the Transit Connect, as did slightly bigger headlamps, and a revised, sportier bumper. Inside the cabin, there’s a reshaped dashboard with a cleaner center stack, with a 6.5-inch touchscreen floating on top. The display is optional though. The instrument cluster now has a digital information center. Ford now offers wireless charging, with Waze compatibility to be introduced soon.

Moving over to tech, the Automatic Emergency Braking system comes standard with the segment-exclusive Pre-Collision Assist. The optional Adaptive Cruise Control system makes highway driving easier by automatically slowing the vehicle when radar detects traffic ahead. The available Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert rounds off the driver assist package. Continue reading to find out about the engine lineup.
