Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are most renowned for their time at BBC’s Top Gear, but they’ve been making their new series the Grand Tour, for Amazon Prime since 2016, and they’re back for this year’s special, The Grand Tour: Lochdown, which premieres on July 30.

I think we can agree that cars and girls go quite well together. Sometimes, even more so than one might expect. There are more than a few examples of influential women in the car scene, whether it’s in motorsports or automotive media.

Faye Hadley, also known as the automotive technician from All Girls Garage, is one such example. Between being a car mechanic, entrepreneur, co-star in a TV car show, and a teacher, Faye is one of the most diverse and interesting car people. And although there is an undeniable charm to a woman who’s not afraid to get some grease under her fingernails, this begs the question, how did she get where she is, and what makes her tick? Here are a couple of facts you may not know about this charming car girl.

Anybody who’s ever seen Misfit Garage on the Discovery Channel knows how popular the show has become since it first aired in 2014. The show has become a fixture in the TV calendar of car enthusiasts, and with its popularity still ever-present, Misfit Garage continues to roll along, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the car projects that happen inside Fired Up Garage.

The stars of the show, Tom Smith and Jordan Butler, have become household names in the business, but as much as we’ve come to know anything about these guys and the business they’re in, there are still a lot of things that we still don’t know about what happens behind-the-scenes. So let’s pull the curtains and find out a lot of interesting things about Misfit Garage.

Unless you’re living on a deserted island in the Pacific, then you’re probably stuck inside as the rest of us due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown isn’t going to end anytime soon so you’re probably looking for things to do. Watching car-related shows on the web is a good way to stay entertained these days, so we put together a list of the best car TV shows on Netflix.

The 28th season of Top Gear has arrived, and the boys are ringing in the new season the only way they know how: car bungee jumping. For a show that has a long track record of insane stunts, this one takes the cake.

As if bungee jumping isn’t nuts enough by itself, Top Gear’s Freddie Flintoff decided to do it inside a car, specifically a Rover Metro, with the goal of getting the benevolent Metro to go from 0 to 60 mph in two seconds. I don’t suppose using gravity to achieve that goal counts as cheating, but to even sign off on this stunt is indescribably nuts. We don’t know what you’re thinking, Flintoff.

Ford did a lot of things right with the Mustang Shelby GT500. It updated the Voodoo 5.2-liter V-8 used by the Shelby GT350 with a 2.65-liter supercharger, ditched the innovative flat-plane crank design of the GT350, and went for a more traditional cross-plane crankshaft, all while considerably upping the power output.

Plus, we don’t have to tell you just how much weight the Shelby name holds in the automotive industry. Then again, so does Ferrari. Or Porsche. However, as you’re about to see, that wasn’t enough to throw off the Shelby GT500.

Top Gear America is returning for a third iteration. The popular automotive show is set to come back in the U.S. with three new hosts — Dax Shepard, Rob Corddry, and Jethro Bovingdon — and a new viewing platform.

Previously distributed by NBC and A+E Networks, the new version of Top Gear America will be offered by the BBC Studios in partnership with the MotorTrend Group. The show will air on the MotorTrend App, the latter’s streaming service, starting in the spring of 2020. You’ll need to pay a $4.99 monthly subscription fee to gain access to the show, but it’s not just Top Gear America that you’ll have access to. A litany of Top Gear content will also be available for viewing, including more than 170 episodes of the parent Top Gear show.

LEGO’s lineup of car sets is about to get juiced up now that the toy company has announced a partnership with British motoring show Top Gear to develop a lineup of car toy sets. Naturally, a partnership of this nature will draw a lot of attention, in part because of the kind of sets that will come out from this new partnership. There’s no word yet on what kind of cars will feature in the collaborative sets, but it’s easy to imagine the possibilities given Top Gear’s long and rich history as the most popular motoring show in the world. For what it’s worth, look for the cars from some of the show’s most memorable episodes to prominently feature in the collaboration. As far as what those cars are? We have a few in mind already.

There’s a new show on Netflix called Hyperdrive, and if you haven’t been paying attention, it’s something that you need to binge-watch as soon as possible. Hyperdrive isn’t your typical car show. It’s not even a car show in the traditional sense. It’s a car competition with an outrageous obstacle course element. It is, according to one of its producers, a highly addictive mix between Fast and Furious and American Ninja Warriors. It has smoky burnouts, daredevil stunts, and real-life stories among a group of real-world contestants, each looking to become the first-ever Hyperdrive champion. Oh, and Fast and Furious star Charlize Theron is the executive producer of the show. That should be enough reason to watch this show, really.

You gotta love it when manufacturers bring race-proven performance to the street. Back in the ‘80s, that’s exactly what Renault did with the R5 Turbo2, a boxy giant-slayer that looks the part of a sideways dirt-slinger all the way down to the hugely flared rear fenders.

This thing is just dripping with old-school-cool, which means it fits right in at Jay Leno’s Garage. Originally, the mighty mite used to be (as Jay puts it) “just a front-wheel drive, front-engined, econobox.” Now, however, it’s so much more. For starters, the engine is in now behind the seats, and now features a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder producing just under 200 horsepower, all of which flows through a five-speed manual transmission. The suspension was also completely reworked, and of course, don’t forget that glorious new body work. The product of racing homologation, just 200 were produced with the same aluminum roof as the example seen here.

This thing is a straight-up rally superstar for the road. Check it out in length in this 27-minute, 44-second video, which includes a look at all the technical details, and a stint on the streets of Southern California.

Earlier this year, there were rumors alleging that the third season was going to be the final run of The Grand Tour. However, Amazon has now confirmed that the show will have a fourth season with the same hosts, but many other key changes. Are these going to be good changes or bad changes?

Good news for fans of The Grand Tour: The show is returning for a fourth season. Bad news for fans of The Grand Tour: The show’s studio-dominated configuration is getting the heave-ho. That’s the word from Amazon, which announced the renewal of the hit motoring show for Season 4, albeit with big changes in the way for the upcoming season. There’s no timetable on when Season 4 comes out, but don’t expect it to air until 2020. Season 3 hasn’t even come out yet; that’s on schedule to première on January 18, 2019.

You may remember Japanese manufacturer Mitsuoka used to offer a Morgan-like vehicle based on an older Mazda MX-5 - its replacement ditches the Morgan theme for a classic Corvette Stingray theme and applies it to the latest Miata (which is also the best one in the series).

Despite changing networks — ok, Amazon isn’t a traditional network — and continents, the trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are still massively popular in the U.K. That much was proven by a report from British broadcasting regulator Ofcom, which revealed that the second season of The Grand Tour was the second-most streamed show in the U.K. The only show that beat it happens to be a 24-year old sitcom about buddies that ended its run 14 years ago. Outside of that, The Grand Tour’s popularity in the trio’s old stomping grounds is a good sign that their fans haven’t left their side.

Although it was revealed in prototype form at the beginning of the year, the Lister Thunder is no more. Say hello to the Lister LFT-666. The Thunder - a Lister tuned F-Type is renamed to LFT-666 to better fall in line with the future products that will spawn from the revived British car company. As it turns out, Lister is on the way to become an exclusive tuner of Jaguar cars. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do something like Polestar did with Volvo. Nevertheless, the company is still in its infancy, but if we are to judge by the first car they revealed, Lister will be a blast.

Lister Motor Company, Lawrence Whittaker, CEO says, “Over the past six months the Lister Motor Company has been working hard on developing our Tuning Division, starting with modifying the Jaguar F-Type. Originally, we named the prototype the Lister ‘Thunder’, however, due to future model lineage, all 99-production models will now be known as the Lister LFT-666, a befitting title and one where an intrigued passer-by instantly knows the brake horsepower of each Lister model.”

Although revealed only in the prototype form, Lister received a record number of orders for the Thunder (now the LFT-666). Finally, the company released a lot more info about it and let me tell you right away - it’s an awesome car.

Now, there’s a third season about to drop, and it’s bringing all kinds of good stuff for you viewers. Not only will there be tons of new projects to check out, but there’s also a new host - taking the helm will be Aaron Hagar, owner of Rat Runners Garage in South Lake Tahoe, California, and a force to be reckoned with in the art of building rat rods. Aaron is a true artist when it comes to cars and fabrication, and his always affable personality is sure to be a perfect fit for the show.

Matt LeBlanc’s departure from Top Gear opens up arguably one of the most desirable jobs in all of television. Some of the world’s biggest celebrities have openly expressed their desire for the job. Unfortunately, it’s one thing to aspire to host the show; it’s another thing to actually sign up for it and work the schedule. If the latter wasn’t an issue, LeBlanc would still be the host of the show. But alas, his departure opens up a number of possibilities on who could fill in as his successor. We take a look at five good candidates that can do it. They’re not necessarily in the running, but they could fill the void left behind by Joey Tribbiani.

For the third time in three years, Top Gear is losing its frontman as Friends and Man with a Plan star Matt LeBlanc has announced plans to leave the show at the conclusion of the upcoming season. His included “extensive travel” and “time commitment” as the biggest issues behind his decision to leave the show behind. Just like that, the show’s hosting lineup is being thrown into turmoil.

Rumors are swirling that The Grand Tour may be in trouble and that Amazon may be thinking of axing the show entirely after its third season. The unexpected revelation comes by way of the Daily Mail, which is reporting that the show may not be renewed for a fourth season. No reason was given as to why that is, but a “source” close to the show said that “there is nothing to suggest they are going to do another season. No one has signed anything and employees are wondering where everyone will go once filming wraps.”

A car catching fire on Top Gear isn’t a new occurrence. A few years ago, a Zenvo ST1 burst into flames during filming. That prompted a bitter back-and-forth between presented Jeremy Clarkson and Zenvo. Fast forward to this year and it’s deja vu all over again for the hit motoring show. This time, the unwitting victim is a pre-production Renault Alpine A110 that was being driven by Chris Harris and Eddie Jordan.
