Cringe In Pain As You Watch the Glickenhaus 004S Go Through Crash Testing
Crash-testing a car is, sadly, an unavoidable and expensive procedure, if a manufacturer wants to make a road-legal car. The YouTube channel AMMO NYC has mostly to do with car detailing tutorials, but it’s not limited to that. However, the following video is quite different from the channel’s usual itinerary, as it takes us on a ride in the Glickenhaus 004S prototype, which is about to be crash-tested.
You Might Be Able to Buy a Street Legal Glickenhaus 007 Le Mans Racecar!
Nowadays, the term “Racecar for the road” is awfully misused, mostly by marketing “experts” who are desperately trying to seduce people with more money than sense. That said, there are a few companies out there that do not mess about. Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SC Glickenhaus) has been getting a lot of exposure in recent times. Their philosophy is simple. They build racecars for the toughest races out there and then, they build street versions of them. It seems the same might be true for one of their latest creations – the SCG 007 Le Mans racecar.
One of the things we love about internal combustion engines is the sounds they make. This is especially true when we talk about high-performance and racing engines. With that being said, the LMP grid for the 2023 FIA Endurance Championship will be quite busy. Big names like Ferrari and Porsche are making a comeback, joining alongside others like Toyota and Audi. Scuderia Cameron Glicenhaus is also bringing in a proper challenger and it sounds like the devil.
Feast Your Eyes on the Glickenhaus 008 Dakar Buggy
They say there is no rest for the wicked. In this case, the wicked are represented by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, who is always keeping us on our toes and who, in good spirit, just dropped a couple of renderings of a revised 008 Baja Dakar Buggy.
Check Out This Weird Glickenhaus Jeep Gladiator Competitor
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is known for its motorsport-oriented builds. The company became the talk of the town when it beat the Bronco at the 2019 Baja 1000. SCG has now come up with an environment-loving, pickup truck version of the Boot off-roader called the Boot Zero that comes with a hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain.
2021 SCG 003S
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus – aka SCG – knows a thing or two about racing. So, when they say the SCG 003S is a race car for the road, something we hear way too often these days, you can bet that is exactly what they mean.
Developed with the expertise gained from racing at Le Mans or the Nurburgring, the SCG 003S is hand-built from the ground up in Sleepy Hollow, New York. And as you can imagine, it is nothing to sneeze at. Let us take a closer look.
The Baja 1000 Just Let the SCG Boot Prove That It’s Infinitely Better Than the Ford Bronco R
Ford entered the off-road Bronco prototype, the Bronco R, at last year’s Baja 1000 and it took a lot of people by surprise because the Bronco was not unveiled yet. It couldn’t complete the race, but it managed to add to the ongoing buzz surrounding it. This year, the Bronco R completed the race, but couldn’t beat its rival, the SCG Boot. The SCG Boot just scored its second consecutive Class 2 victory despite a punctured tire during the run. Is the Boot on the verge of becoming a legend in the Class 2 category?
SCG 007 Will Drop Its Twin-Turbo V-6 In Favor Of A Twin-Turbo V-8
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, so far the only American outfit set to field a prototype built to the new-for-2021 LM Hypercar rules in the FIA World Endurance Championship, has finally settled on its choice of engine for the 007 prototype that will now house a twin-turbocharged V-8 instead of an Alfa Romeo-derived twin-turbocharged V-6 as originally planned.
SCG Wants You To Build Your Own Off-Road, Mid-Engined Buggy
In March 2020, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, or commonly known as SCG, posted a random rendering on Facebook which looked like the lovechild of the company’s 004 sports car and the Boot off-roader that took part in last year’s Baja 1000 event. Although it looked funky, no one took it seriously. Fast-forward a couple of months, the company announces that it is becoming a reality. The company will be selling this buggy soon, but as a DIY vehicle. Yep, you’ll have to make your own. Will you?
SCG Wants to Make a Kit Car Out of This Sketch
Since Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus focuses mainly on designing and building boutique, high-performance exotic sports cars, it’s safe to say that the 99 percenters out there can only dream of driving the likes of SCG 003, 004, 006, and 007. Even the Steve McQueen-inspired Baja Boot is bound to cost an arm and a leg.
Have no fear, though. Mr. Glickenhaus is apparently not ignoring the masses, as he wants his company to develop an affordable car that would lure in more customers for the brand. Are we on board with this? Well, of course we are.
Glickenhaus SCG 004C Spotted Testing, Looks Ready to Rumble
Previously seen only in computer-generated pictures, the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus 004C race car finally appeared in public, and it looks every bit like the showstopper those CG images hinted at. The race-spec version of the 004 supercar was spotted performing some test runs at the Cremona Circuit in San Martino del Lago, Italy.
Wearing nothing but naked carbon fiber panels, the 004C looked completely at home and in its element, racking up precious testing and development ahead of its competitive debut in this year’s VLN Series in Europe. There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding the status of the SCG 004C and its street-version alter ego, the SCG 004S. Now those speculations can be put to rest. The SCG 004C is now out and about and judging by its track test runs, it’s ready to take a bite out of the competition.
The SCG 003S Will Come to the New York Auto Show With "320 Changes"
Let’s be frank for a moment – Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus isn’t exactly an automaker than anyone talks much about. It’s classified as a “low volume automaker,” but that’s probably only because there isn’t a smaller designation. Since the summer of 2017, when the company started building the 003S,it has produced just two customer examples and is currently working on the third. It’s not exactly a groundbreaking number. Be that as it may, it was just announced that the SCG003S is going to show up at the 2020 New York Auto Show with “over 320 changes” in place compared to the original car. It’s kind of a big deal, really.
Glickenhaus Targets Le Mans Glory With Hypercar Program
James Glickenhaus, owner of one of the most amazing car collections in the world and an avid racing fan, says his team’s latest creation, the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 007 built to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar category, can win the 24 Hours of Le Mans outright. The car will also spawn a road-going version of which some 20 to 30 units will be built depending on customer interest. Glickenhaus announced that the car will be powered only by its internal combustion engine although a hybrid system was on the table at the early stages of development. The SCG 007 is set to debut in 2020.
Ever since we first wrote about SCG’s ambition to take on the world’s best at Le Mans, all the way back in July of 2018, the American team/manufacturer has been using its Instagram profile as the main place to post updates on the development of both the 007 and the 004, a volume sports car that’s bound to be turned into a GT3-like race car, similar to SCG’s first car, the 003 that has competed in the VLN, the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring, the International GT Open Series, and the 24 Hours Series.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus Wants to Win Le Mans With SCG 007 LMP1
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, also known as SCG, just announced its latest project. It’s called the SCG 007 LMP1 and it’s designed to bring home the glory at the most famous endurance racing event in the world - the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Announced in a recent post to social media, not much is known about the new hypercar, but the boutique automaker has piqued our interest all the same.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus Has a 650-Horsepower Throwback Roadster in the Works
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, the low-volume manufacturer that is the brainchild of James Glickenhaus, is preparing a new model to join its recent creations, the SCG 003, SCG 004S, and the Boot. The new model is going to be called the SCG 006, and according to Road and Track, it’s pegged as a two-seater, retro-styled throwback sports car that will be offered in either coupe or convertible body types.
SCG Teases New Road and Racing Cars for 2020 Model Year
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, the boutique high-performance automaker best known for its SCG 003 monster machine, just released a pair of images teasing its latest design work. Details are scant at this point, but apparently we’ll see this thing debut or the 2020 model year.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus’ SCG004S Will Have 700 Horses of Nissan GT-R Goodness
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus never ceases to amaze. The auto company created by Jim Glickenhaus is preparing its latest performance car, and the latest word is that it’s going to come with the bleeding heart of Godzilla itself. In case the reference escaped you, Godzilla is the Nissan GT-R, and according to Glickenhaus, his new creation, called the SCG004S, will feature the GT-R’s 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. More importantly, the entry-level version of the supercar will have 690 horsepower at its disposal. A high-performance package will also be offered with more power on tap.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is on a Mission to Build a Modern Baja Boot
If for nothing else, nobody can accuse James Glickenhaus of being boring. He was the brains behind the Ferrari-Enzo based, Pininfarina-designed P4/5. He was also the man who brought the SCG 003 to life. Now, Glickenhaus is turning his attention to the off-road segment with plans to build a modern road-legal version of the Boot off-roader that Steve McQueen famously raced in back in the ’60s.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus Is Now Officially A Low-Volume Automaker
James Glickenhaus’ dream of unleashing his own brand of demented supercars is now one step closer to becoming a reality. It took some years and more than his share of headaches to get here, but it’s official after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) granted Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) the status of “low volume manufacturer.” This means that SCG now has the green light to produce as many as 325 cars per year that will be exempt from a number of federal motor vehicle and emissions regulations.
With its status now official, SCG has confirmed plans to develop three different models for public consumption. We’re already familiar with all three models, but for those who need a refresher, prepare yourselves to hear and see more of the SCG003S, the SCG003CS, and the SCG003C. Each of the three cars is expected to fetch prices in the vicinity of $2 million and will all be out on the market, possibly as early as 2018 or 2019. It’s unclear at this point which of the three models will be released first, but the company’s goal now that it has NHTSA clearance is to build anywhere from four to six models for 2018 with an eye towards doubling that number in 2019.

Glickenhaus SCG003C Racer Storms the Nurburgring: Video
If I may state to obvious, the Nurburgring is an absolutely terrifying place. Jackie Stewart was dead on when he dubbed it the Green Hell, given its nearly endless series of blind corners, elevation changes, bumps, subtleties, and technical challenges. Then, of course, there’s the raw speed of the place. Few tracks in the world can test a car’s performance quite like the ‘Ring, and if a driver doesn’t have the mental fortitude and skill required, the end result can be deadly. All told, this is not a place for the timid. However, if you manage to avoid the pitfalls, hit your apexes, and keep it off the grass, the rewards can be enormous. And that’s exactly what we see in this video of a magic flying lap taken from inside a Glickenhaus SCG003C race car.
Shot during the Glickenhaus’ 6-hour qualifier for the upcoming Nurburgring 24 endurance event, the video provides us with an in-car perspective, revealing not only the driver’s steering inputs and the spaceship-esque control layout of the SCG003C, but the talent required to put in a hot lap in a 500-horsepower speed machine. Rumor has it the SCG003C might even have what it takes to best lap times laid down by the Porsche 918 Spyder and Lamborghini Huracan Performante. Either way, watching this thing run around the ‘Ring is a real treat, especially with a smattering of slower traffic complicating the issue.
James Glickenhaus’ Idea Of A Nürburgring Lap Time Competition Is Never Happening
Say what you will about James Glickenhaus’ braggadocious tendencies, but the man is good for some headlines. He was confident enough to launch his own car company. He was confident enough to compete at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. And he’s confident enough to call his own shot at the production car lap record at the Nürburgring. Yes, the same man who recently unveiled the intense SCG 003S at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show believes that his newest creation can lap the Green Hell in just 6:30, which would be 27 seconds faster than the current record-holder, the Porsche 918 Spyder.
Glickenhaus is apparently so confident in his road-going SCG 003S that he told Car and Driver in Geneva his intention to create a competition at the iconic German racing circuit to determine, once and for all, which production car is the fastest around the track. Not stopping at simply proposing the competition, the man behind the P4/5 also wants the competition to be held immediately after the qualifying stage of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring with the added caveats that automakers who participate in it are required drive the cars from Cologne to the Nürburgring using only a single set of tires and then using the same set of tires during the competition.
He does admit that it would be too late to hold the competition this year since the 24 Hours of Nürburgring is scheduled to begin on May 25. But if other automakers get on board and Nürburgring authorities give the green light, Glickenhaus believes that the competition could have its inaugural run in 2018.
The proposal is interesting, but don’t expect it to happen anytime soon, even if Glickenhaus champions it to the high heavens. Between getting automakers to agree on participating and having the blessing of track officials, there are a lot of holes that Glickenhaus needs to jump through before it can even get people to take his proposal seriously. Then again, he might just be doing all of this because he has a car he thinks can win the whole thing.
Whatever the case may be, this is as good an example of how the mind of James Glickenhaus works. He may not say the right things all the time, but when he does say something, people tend to listen, no matter how strange his statements may be.

James Glickenhaus’ Dreams Of Supercar Supremacy Lives On In The SCG003S
You can’t fault James Glickenhaus for dreaming big. The man, after all, is known in automotive circles for pushing the envelope in ways that very few people with his means are inclined to do. It started when he brought to the world the P4/5, a
created,
bodied racer that enjoyed tremendous success in races all over the world. From there, Glickenhaus set out on expanding his lineup of performance machines, first with the SCG003C before following that up with the SCG003CS. Now, the third iteration of Glickenhaus’ vision is making its presence felt at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The model is called the SCG0003S, and it’s an 800-horsepower, road-going supercar of unbridled fury.
The debut of the SCG003S will create headlines. That much I can guarantee considering its capabilities on the both the road and track. Glickenhaus himself says that his new pride and joy is capable of blasting around the Nürburgring in 6:30, a time that would easily make it the new lap king of the track. By almost all metrics, the SCG003S is going to be a handful to deal with for all the right reasons.
But there’s also something more meaningful about the SCG003S, and it has very little to do with form or function. The supercar, for all intents and purposes, is the culmination of an ambitious goal set out by its creator when he first thought of the idea of asking Pininfarina to rebid his Ferrari Enzo and turn it into the P4/5. It seems like a long time ago, but through grit, hard work, and determination, Glickenhaus is well on his way to achieving his goals.
Make no mistake, though; the man is far from settled. The SCG003S, as awesome as it looks and sounds, isn’t Glickenhaus’ end-game. Once the car is launched, the plan is to sell at least three cars a year at a price of $1.8 million for each unit, all while setting the long-term goal of competing in the GTE category of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the SCG003. Think the SCG003 would be out of its depth in Le Mans? Yeah, try telling James Glickenhaus that.
