If you find that name weird, don’t coax yourself. Even I needed a while to familiarize myself with the Spanish brand.

Active for a very brief period from 1924 to 1982, OSSA (Orpheo Sincronic Sociedad Anónima) first made movie projectors and then shifted to being a motorcycle manufacturer only in 1949 that was best known for producing lightweight, two-stroke-engined bikes used in observed trials, motocross, and enduro.

Paying tribute to the brand and the OSSA 250 Monocasc GP motorcycle, the folks at a Barcelona design company concocted an electric concept bike that according to my tastes is the most soothing looking thing ever made on two wheels. It is almost as if your eyes can just flow over those curves. It’s called the Monocasco.

There are many women taking up riding now and unlike before it is no more a taboo as perceived by society. Then there are those few who kick out all norms and do what they believe in. Enter Sarah ‘Lezito’ Vignot.

A girl who has been gifted with a bank of talent to dance around with a machine on two-wheels. Where, for some, balancing on two wheels becomes a task, Sarah takes it to a different level altogether.

Most fans of motorcycle racing are familiar with some of the biggest names in the sport. From Valentino Rossi to Marc Marquez, to Jorge Lorenzo, and even Casey Stoner, these names are about as familiar to us as the names of our family friends. But for what it’s worth, none of them could have a bigger impact in the world of motorcycle racing than Krystyna Kubran.

Kubran is actually a mechanical engineer, but when she’s not doing things mechanical engineers usually do, Kubran is an accomplished motorcycle racer. For what it’s worth, she races in a Kawasaki ZX-10R, too.

In any case, the feature talks about Kubran’s life in and out of the race track. More specifically, it talks about how Kubran has managed to ingratiate herself as a legitimate racer in a male-dominated sport. The woman is more than just legitimate, though. She’s actually pretty fast, too, routinely posting blazing laps that make you wonder why big motorcycle racing teams haven’t given her a shot yet.

She may not have the cache of some of the sport’s biggest names, but rest assured, Kubran’s involvement in motorcycle racing is paving a way for young girls looking to follow in there footsteps. That’s the message she essentially wants to espouse. If you want to be a motorcycle racer, don’t let your gender get in the way of accomplishing that goal. Chase your dreams, she says, and don’t let anyone get in the way of them.

Sounds like a woman who knows what she’s talking about.

Aprilia revealed its new SR Max grand touring scooter which is available in 125 cc and 300 cc versions. The new scooter draws inspiration from the racing world featuring a sporty design and a set of sharp headlights. The dynamic style of the scooter is enhanced by the sleek and sharp tail fairing and the two colour saddle.

Both SR Max versions come with front hydraulic shock absorbers with 35mm traditional telescopic forks combined with rear 3 position adjustable spring preload shock absorbers.

The single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4 valve 125 version, is equipped with electronic injection, and delivers a maximum output of 15 HP at 9,250 rpm. On the other hand, the stronger model comes with a 300 cc single cylinder 4 valve liquid cooled electronic injected engine with a 75 mm bore and 63 mm stroke. Its maximum torque is rated at 23 Nm @ 6000 rpm.
