MotoGP 15 Video Game Now Available In Stores And Digital Markets

MotoGP 15 Video Game Now Available In Stores And Digital Markets

After months of anticipation, Italian video game developer Milestone has finally released MotoGP 15, the third instalment of the popular video game franchise centered around the awesome world of top-class motorcycle racing.

The release of MotoGP 15 comes at a perfect time for fans of the series. The Assen Grand Prix is taking place this weekend and what better way to gear up for what promises to be an exciting race than spending all those hours before the actual race playing its virtual counterpart. I can’t think of any, which is why I’m more than likely to stop by Best Buy over the weekend to scoop up the game.

I’m excited to give MotoGP a whirl because I’ve been a fan of the franchise since Milestone began making the licensed game in 2013. There have been some hiccups along the way, but for the most part, I’ve enjoyed my couch time playing MotoGP in my PlayStation 3.

This time, I’ve upgraded to a PS4 so I’m particularly intrigued at how the game translates into Sony’s next and latest generation platform.

If you’re an avid gamer like I am, you would know that there are certain levels of technical gaming that we subscribe to. Whether it’s the graphics or the gameplay, we’re more particular with the way the game was created. More than anything else, I want to see how MotoGP 15 has evolved from its 2014 counterpart and judge for myself whether or not Milestone lived up to its promise of a richer and more immersive gaming experience.

For now, though, I’m content to keep this latest video preview of the game in constant loop until I have the time to actually buy the game. So in the unlikely event that you don’t hear from me over the weekend, you already know what I’ll be doing.

MotoGP is now available in stores and in digital markets for $59.99.

Video: MotoGP15 Video Game Inches Closer To Release, Download Content Now Available

Italian video game developer Milestone is getting set for the highly anticipated launch of MotoGP15, the officially licensed video game of the top-class racing series. The game isn’t expected to hit shelves until June 19, 2015, but as early as now, Milestone’s already taking pre-orders of the game with the promise of a free download pack that will exclusively be released to those who are willing to fork out money for the pre-orders.

The allure of a free DLC pack isn’t entirely new in the video game world, especially with developers who are looking to attract cache from casual gamers. To its credit, Milestone chose the perfect DLC pack to dangle to potential customers. No special edition bikes are part of this pack, but what it does have is a roster of some of the most iconic premier class riders of the modern era. Oh, and the bikes they used during their respective heydays are also included.

Legendary riders like Troy Bayliss, Neil Hodgson, Kenny Roberts, Max Biaggi, and Valentino Rossi are all included in the pack, as are the bikes they used in from 2004, 2005, and 2006. These five riders are by and large considered the crème de la crème of the motorcycle racing world so essentially having their “classic” selves in MotoGP15 is a cool wrinkle to the game.

Those who miss out on pre-ordering the game can still acquire the DLC content, but a literal price must be paid for the tardiness. Suppose you don’t get to pre-order on time, Milestone will be offering the DLC pack as soon as the game hits shelves for a tidy sum of €13, or around $14.5 based on current exchange rates.

I don’t think I’ll need to remind anyone who’s interested in the game to get their pre-orders set if they don’t want to miss out on getting the free DLC content. The game is available in a handful of consoles and platforms, including the PlayStation4, PlayStation3, Xbox One, Windows PC, Steam, and Xbox 360.

Video: RIDE Drops Demo Gameplay Ahead Of Release

Video: RIDE Drops Demo Gameplay Ahead Of Release

I can’t tell you how long I’ve waited for the Ride video game to hit shelves. But now that we’re just a few days away from the March 20, 2015 release date, I’m slowly turning into a ball of pure excitement.

Thankfully, the game’s developer, Milestone, was kind enough to keep me and the rest of those who are equally excited about the game busy in anticipation for the actual game to be released, thanks to a demo game that is now available on Stream and on the PlayStation Network.

While it doesn’t cover a large part of what we can expect from the game, it’s more than enough to keep me from losing my mind. Like most demos, the package only contains a few snippets of the entire game, and in this case, Milestone added the quick Race game mode to go with one country track - the Sierra Nevada - and three motorcycles: a naked heavyweight bike, a superbike, and a supersport bike.

The demo also includes a sneak peek on the customization features found in the game. It doesn’t have every customizable detail available, but there is enough there to give us a taste of what we can expect when the whole enchilada becomes available on March 20.

Until then, enjoy this demo as much as I probably will. There’s a good chance that I’ll be spending all of my free time in the next few days glued to my PlayStation 4.

Pre-Order Ride And You Can Get A Yamaha Pack

Pre-Order Ride And You Can Get A Yamaha Pack

The wait is getting closer to being over. I know that I’ve been waiting for the Ride video game to release for quite some time now. So now with March 20 drawing closer and closer, you can bet that I’m pretty excited about it. Turns out, we all have ever more reason to get geeked up about Ride’s release. If you decide to pre-order the game, you stand to receive two free downloadable packs - Yamaha 2015 Bike Models pack and the Yamaha Historical Bikes pack - that will add a slew of Yamaha motorcycles to your garage. Oh, and these Yamaha bikes include the new YZF-R1 and the YZF-R1M.

Excited yet?

For those who aren’t familiar with Ride, you’d be wise to get yourselves acquainted with it. It’s essentially the motorcycle-equivalent of some of the more heralded car racing video game titles out there like Gran Turismo and Forza. It’s got up to 100 real-world motorcycles, though it’s not yet clear how many bikes will come with the game itself and how many will be available as downloadable content.

In addition to the YZF-R1 and the YZF-R1M, the Yamaha 2015 Bike Models pack comes with the 2015 YZF-R6. Meanwhile, the Yamaha Historical Bikes pack nets you the 1998 and 2012 R1 and the 1998 YZF-R7. IN case you don’t pre-order the game before of its March 20 launch, you can still avail of the two packs independently. But why waste your money on that when you can get them just be pre-ordering the title.

Ride can be played on a number of video game platforms, including the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation3, Playstation4 and PC.

Say you’re a little burned out from playing Gran Turismo 6 or Forza Horizon 2. Maybe you need a new racing game to get your juices flowing again. There’s no law against going the grain a little bit, right?

This is where RIDE comes into the picture. Created by Milestone, the same team of developers that brought us the MotoGP and SBK titles, the motorcycle racing video game has been announced for a worldwide release date on March 20, 2015.

That’s a two-month waiting time, which really isn’t a long time for video games like this. Besides, it should be enough time to get you excited about the myriad of features RIDE will have at its disposal. It’s got over 100 bikes from some of the biggest bike manufacturers in the world, ranging from superbness, supersports, naked bikes, and yes, even historical bikes, some of which we may have forgotten about already.

A motorcycle Poker run board game coming?

A motorcycle Poker run board game coming?

While we were plying through the 1000’s of motorcycle patents filed recently (that’s right, it’s part of our job description), we stumbled upon this patent. It’s a patent for a board trivia game, based on the successful motorcycle poker runs.

The game is a bit of a combination of trivial pursuit, Poker and roll-and-move games. You start your game at the START location and travel to the hosting cities (like Sturgis, Laughlin, Daytona, etc), ending at the FINISH location (eventually).

Like in other roll-and-move games, you can end up on a trivia question; Trivia questions are all motorcycle related. There are also visual recognition cards, which again are motorcycle related photos or illustrations (called ’WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?’). Apart from the trivia and recognition cards, there’s also a normal set of playing cards (used for the Poker game).

The objective is twofold; 1) finish first going through the USA, and 2) have the winning Poker hand.

There’s also real money and drinking involved, so a real biker game.

Looks like an interesting game to play when the snow has blocked us from riding our roads. Round up a couple of riding buddies, and play the game.

The patent has only recently been registered, so I do not know when the board game will be available, but I don’t think you’ll find it in this year’s Christmas stocking.
