One of the rarest and most expensive Lambos of the noughties
The Lamborghini Reventon isn’t just a styling exercise that sits on the chassis and drivetrain of the Murcielago LP60. It’s the pole bearer for a new direction in Lamborghini design, a direction whose cues can be seen in future Lamborghini models such as the restyled Gallardo or the Aventador. The source of inspiration? Fighter jets.
Marcello Gandini all but dictated that all V-12 Lamborghinis have to be brash and dramatic with razor-sharp edges, clean surfaces, and aggressive angles all around. The Italian manufacturer didn’t have a visual identity before the year 1974 so they went with it, seeing how well the wedge-shaped mid-engined supercar faired. Then came the Diablo, then the Murcielago, all of which following the same path. However, with each new car, Lamborghini refined the edges, added a few curves here and there, made things softer.
The Reventon looked like a return to the roots. It looked like an F117A Blackhawk with that bespoke grayish green color covering all of the pointy surfaces and, for all the work Lamborghini put into the car’s exterior, you can forgive them for leaving the underpinnings taken straight from the Murcielago LP640 untouched. Just 20 examples were made a decade ago - yes, it’s that old! - and then Lamborghini set to work again cutting the roof off the car to create a Roadster version. Some thought it’s a bit weird while others love it. The going rate for one of these suggests there’s not much interest in them now they’ll still turn heads anywhere they go.

For all of the attention being paid to Gran Turismo 6, Forza 5 must be feeling pretty left out. So, in an attempt to steal some of the spotlight back, game developer Turn 10 Studios has released a new downloadable content for the Xbox game, called the IGN Car Pack.
Made up of 10 very diverse models, the IGN Car Pack features a wide variety of rides ranging from old supercars like the 1957 Ferrari 250 California, the 2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello and the Lamborghini Reventon, to present-day makes like the 2013 Caterham Superlight R500, and the 2014 Mercedes A45 AMG), and old-school classics like the 1977 Ford Escort RS1800, the 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 409, the 1969 Nissan Fairlady Z 432, and the 1984 Peugeot 205 T16.
There’s a lot to like about the list, although we would’ve liked to seen a bigger list than the one the IGN Car Pack has. If anything, Turn 10 Studios needs to get its game up to another level because its nemesis, Gran Turismo 6, is doing it these days in spades.

It’s no secret that Lambo has huge plans for its 50th anniversary and that the Aventador is due to lose its top in the U.S. market… officially. The Italian automaker decided why not just kick them both off at the same time, which it did today in Miami and we were there to witness it all.
The day kicked off at noon today in Miami, and began with a press conference across from the Breakwater Hotel and a 40-car parade down Collins Avenue. During the press conference, Lambo unveiled the much-anticipated Aventador LP700-4 Roadster to us media folk and it was definitely worth the wait. Have a look at our collection of images and you can see just how sexy the car really is.
On top of the official unveiling of the drop-top supercar, Lambo also satisfied our appetite for some speed. It accomplished this feat by closing off a runway at the Miami International Airport – the first time MIA has ever close a runway for an automotive event – to allow 12 Aventadors to run wild down the long straight stretch, peaking out at over 180 mph.
What a phenomenal showing by Lambo.
Generally, we don’t like to focus on design concepts, but this particular one caught our attention because it is simply amazing, and it gives us something Lamborghini-related to look at until the company unveils the Gallardo Nova at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.
This new concept is called the Lamborghini Perdigon and was designed by Ondrej Jirec, a final year Transport Design student at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. The concept car was named after a famous fighting bull to follow along with Lamborghini tradition and was designed to compete with models like the ever-sumptuous Bugatti Veyron.
Jirec styled his Perdigon Concept after the Lamborghini Reventon which took its design inspiration from stealth jets. He then took that inspiration a step further adding sharp angles and polygonal surfaces reminiscent of aircrafts like the F117 Nighthawk and the F22 Raptor. The vehicle also features a very unusually large air intake mounted just below the windscreen. The futuristic look of the exterior continues on the interior, where inspiration was taken from fighter jet canopies.
We can ogle this concept car all we want, but truth of the matter is it will never make it to production.
In recent years, Lamborghini has made so many strictly-limited production vehicles, they’ve almost become its specialty. Case in point, the Aventador J and Reventon Roadster.
As we’re sure you know, the Lamborghini Aventador J was created in just six weeks, ahead of its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. With only one unit being built, it’s literally as rare as a car can be. Based off the standard Aventador, yet featuring an array of visual changes, the Aventador J is the ultimate expression of what the Italian firm is capable.
In a similar fashion, the Reventon Roadster based off the Reventon coupe, which was based off the Murcielago, was limited to just 20 units through its production run and seemingly served as quite the influence on the design of the eventual Aventador.
As a result of the extreme exclusivity of both of these cars, coming across one of them on the streets would be downright amazing, but both at the same time? One can only dream.
Or can they?
Well our dream was actually the reality of many onlookers in Marbella, Spain when both of the aforementioned cars were spotted together on a ‘dark night.’ Get it? Because the Aventador is in the new Batman movie…….never mind.
Nonetheless, this is a might impressive spot and if you can cope with the horribly grainy footage, then it’s definitely worth checking out!
Okay, so we wrote a nice review about the Arrinera Venocara supercar hailing from Poland and we make the observation that this car “looks a hell of a lot like a Lamborghini.” Apparently, the Polish media thought the same, as Jacek Balkan outright accused Arrinera of building this new supercar from a Lamborghini kit available through Polish kit car manufacturer Bojar. Later, Arrinera’s CEO Lukasz Tomkiewicz adamantly denied all accusations and even addressed the usage of an Audi A6 C5 air conditioning panel and instrument cluster.
We can admit that the resemblance between the Lambo and the Arrinera Venocara is striking, but the automotive world is chock-full of copycats and information sharing, so it may just be happenstance. We are not prepared to pass judgment until we put all three of the vehicles in question, the Lamborghini Reventon, the Bojar El Toro Kit, and the Arrinera Venocara on trial in TopSpeed court.
We will closely examine all of the evidence on each car and come to our final ruling as to whether or not this truly is a slightly modified kit car to help boost the blossoming company’s stock, or simply a case of copycatting gone too far.

Now that Lamborghini has officially unveiled the new LP700-4 Aventador, it seems many people have forgotten about the Reventon - one of the coolest supercars launched in the past few years. But, while others have ousted the Reventon from their minds, Media Merchants - a Canadian company that specializes in projection based technologies - has unveiled a very cool video featuring this spectacular sports car.
Don’t think for one second that this video is all about revving engines and high speeds; the nature of this company’s work alone should tell you it’s definitely not going to be that kind of video. What you’ll see is some creative minds at work with their computer.
This may just be the perfect way to promote a car. Let us know what you think after watching it! Enjoy!
Every once in a while, Lamborghini comes out with a special edition model that will knock your socks off. Back in 2008, it was the Reventon and in 2011, they debuted the Sesto Elemento, both limited to just 20 units. But Lamborghini seems to be far from finished.
In a recent interview with AutoCar, company boss Stephan Winkelmann confirmed that the company has plans to develop more special edition supercars.
"Once in a while we should do one-offs or special edition. In this case we made the concept and then got enough interest in it to make a limited run. If the car meets the image of Lamborghini and there is demand, we will build them."
"The key is that every car we build meets the emotional standards of our company, and that it is profitable. We build the cars of dreams for car lovers, and that must stay core to the brand."
Profitable may be one thing, but wildly expensive is another. Winkelmann also stated that Lamborghini has gone as far as they could with the Sesto Elemento: "To build something lighter with a car such as this would be too expensive."
We’ve already taken a good hard look at Lamborghini’s future and just the thought of another addition to the lineup sends chills up and down our spines.
What happens when people want a car so bad, but don’t have enough money to buy it? Well, they start building replicas. Sometimes these things go well, but most of the time they go horribly, horribly wrong. This Lamborghini Reventon is probably one of the more severe cases of instances when the result is one of the ugliest and most unsuccessful builds to date.
There’s a man over in China that drives an old Nissan A31, but his dream car has always been a Lamborghini Reventon. He eye-balled his Nissan and found ways to convert his daily driver into his version of a Reventon. We say his version because there was no way his $13,800 and his homemade parts could ever match the precision and quality of a true $2.3 million Lamborghini.
He started by buying a scale model of a Reventon and day by day, his 1995 Nissan A31 took on some replica parts and some homemade parts resembling the pieces from one of the most exclusive cars on Earth. He dropped in a Lamborghini RB25 engine and 12 days later, had himself what he calls his Lamborghini Reventon.
It’s sad. It’s just so sad.
Any time you have a garage that has its own Lamborghini section in it, you know that you’re a certified gearhead with probably one too many cars at your disposal. Of course, we might as well be talking about Jay Leno, one of America’s pre-eminent auto nuts and the owner of the aforementioned garage with the Lamborghini section.
In the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, the affable comedian shows us his Lamborghini collection, which includes two Miuras, a 1986 Lamborghini Countach,, and a Lamborghini Espada. For this particular episode though, Leno takes the time to get a closer look at one of the most exclusive Lamborghinis on the planet: the stealth black, jet-inspired Reventon.
Limited to only 20 units – the car that makes an appearance in the webisode was number 07 of 20 – the Reventon was essentially a re-bodied Murcielago LP640 and is considered a rare and exotic Lamborghini gem. It’s so rare, in fact, that even Jay Leno, the owner of thousands of cars, doesn’t even have one to call his own.
Even so, Leno was given a chance to take the Reventon out for a spin around the block and while he went easy on the supercar – probably out of fear that something bad would happen to it – the Reventon still left quite a bit of an impression on Leno’s obviously high standards. Then again, that’s what a sexy car with a 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 650 horsepower will do to you.
How much would you really spend on a toy? If you said somewhere along the lines of about $100 tops, then congratulations, you’re not as crazy as we think.
But if you shell out anywhere from €25,000 to €88,000, then forgive us if we start to question your sanity.
That’s how much it’s going to cost you if you ever decide to buy this 1/43 scale model of a Lamborghini Reventon. Don’t worry, it’s not like this collectible doesn’t warrant that stratospheric price tag. After all, some parts of the Reventon come with some pretty expensive pieces of jewelry. For starters, the cars come in three materials: silver, gold, and platinum. Then there are the tail lights that are rubies and the headlights that are diamonds. The silver model will cost you €25,000 ($35,000), the gold model will set you back €55,000 ($77,000), and the platinum model will be sold for €88,000 ($123,000).
So really, there’s some reason behind the madness. But if you ask us, spending something close to that amount when you can buy a pretty nice sports car is a no brainer of a decision. We’ll take the latter any day of the week as opposed to ponying up $123,000 on a car that even our fingers can’t get into.
Let’s face it; there aren’t many people in the world that can afford the Reventon supercar. Not to mention the fact that it is limited to only 20 units. So, in the case that you don’t have an extra $1,200,000 in your pocket to spend or you can’t get on the super deluxe, ultra special list to purchase the Reventon, Lamborghini is offering you the possibility to get an officially licensed RC version, scale 1:10. And what Lamborghini RC car would be complete without its own limited number? In true special edition style, the mini model will only get 65 units.
The RC car was built by De Agostini and has more features than some production models: a two-stroke 3cc petrol engine, a two-speed transmission, and permanent four-wheel drive. For "optimum road holding", designers installed an independent suspension, hydraulic shocks, and disc brakes.
Of course, it won’t develop a total of 650 HP and won’t hit a top speed of 211 mph, but it will make your dream of getting your hands on a Lamborghini Reventon come to life, in a mini way. If only they would let us know how much it costs.
Only 15 cars have been made, so you can expect that when one of them is up for sale, it wouldn’t come with a price tag of anything less than seven digits. We’re talking about theLamborghini Reventon Roadster, a jet fighter-inspired, 6.5-liter V12 engine matte gray monster of a supercar. And like we said, the car - at $2 million - isn’t cheap and comes with a lot of zeroes on it.
The Lamborghini Reventon comes with a 6.5 Liter V12 engine under its hood that makes an astounding 670 HP and 486 lb-ft of torque coupled to the automaker’s six speed e-gear transmission. This combination of high performance pistons and electronically controlled cogs will allow the upcoming Reventon Roadster super car to go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.4 seconds while reaching a top speed of around 205 MPH.
What makes this particular Reventon Roadster all the more exclusive is that it’s the very first - "No. 1" - Reventon built straight out of Sant’Agata. With a carbon fiber body and an engine powerful enough to produce as much as 670 horsepower and a top speed of over 205 mph, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more exclusive Lamborghini Reventon Roadster than this particular one. It’s being offered by the Collection Motor Sport of Madrid, Spain for €1,465,500, or around $2 million.
When you paid millions to get a car, you paid that price because you love the car and there is nothing you will change about it. Or at least this is what we thought! Apparently, a car like theLamborghini Reventon, with only 20 units in the world, needs to be improved! How? With a new set of wheels from ADV1.
We do not say that this ones don’t look amazing, they do, but not for the Reventon. The Reventon looks amazing with its original wheels, the opaque ones made with carbon fiber insertions!
So, would you change the wheels of your Reventon?
For most of us who don’t own a Lamborghini Gallardo, this bit of news is pretty irrelevant to us. But if you’re one of the lucky – and rich – few that does have a Gallardo, the German tuning house CDC-International has a package that can turn your Gallardo into a Lamborghini Reventon, or close to it, at least.
To be fair, CDC-International’s body kit doesn’t exactly hit every nook and cranny of the Reventon to a tee. But it comes pretty close. For starters, the protruding front bumper is a staple of the Reventon, as are those aggressive side skirts.
In addition to those Reventon styling cues, CDC International’s custom body kit for the Gallardo also comes with a rear spoiler, red mirror covers, a modified front apron, bonnet, and rear grill.
If you’re looking for those extremely rare supercars that are probably stowed away in some dimly-lit garage, your best bet is to check out eBay and see if any of these rare exotics happen to find its way into their classifieds. That’s what we were doing when we chanced upon this Lamborghini Reventon that is being sold for an eye-gouging ‘Buy It Now’ price of $1.5 million.
In all fairness to the price tag, this particular Reventon – tagged as Car No. 3 - is one of only 20 cars that Lamborghini ever released and one of only 10 that made its way across the Atlantic. To make things a little more enticing for anyone with that much money to spare for a car, this Reventon has a grand total of 78 miles on its odometer!
Now that we think about though, we can’t for the life of us figure out why somebody would buy this car and not even use it at all. We understand the whole ‘it’s too pretty too drive’ logic, but with over 650hp underneath that hood waiting to be unleashed, you would think that the owner would have taken it out of the block for a spin or two.
Apparently, there are things in life that are more likely to happen to us before we can even get a chance at owning a Lamborghini Reventon Roadster.
At least that’s what the new promo video for Lamborghini’s new super car is saying.
While we don’t necessarily agree with their assertions – for example, they said that we would have an equal chance of owning a Reventon and climbing the peak of Mt. Everest 350 times – we can’t fault them for saying just how hard it is to be sitting behind the wheel of a newly-bought Reventon.
We have to admit that the video is a guaranteed attention-grabber, not because of the otherworldly odds the promo lays out, but because the stunning shots of the Reventon at the tail end of the ad makes us all want and yearn for the car even more.
Now that some of the big names like Mercedes and McLaren have finished revealing their beasts for Frankfurt, the exotic Italian automaker Lamborghini is preparing to put them all to shame with the Reventon Roadster! However, before you get too excited, take this into consideration: there will be only 20 examples of this kind of open air beauty on the road, and each of them will be priced at a very lofty $1,600,000. Deliveries will begin October 2009.
Like its coupe brother, the Reventon Roadster features a jet-inspired carbon fiber body complete with aggressive 18 inch wheels while under the hood Lamborghini will place a 6.5 Liter V12 that makes an astounding 670 HP and 486 lb-ft of torque coupled to the automaker’s six speed e-gear transmission. This combination of high performance pistons and electronically controlled cogs will allow the upcoming Reventon Roadster super car to go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.4 seconds while reaching a top speed of around 205 MPH. How’s that for wind in your hair.
UPDATE 02/02/2011: Check out Jay Leno’s review of the Lamborghini Reventon after the jump!
Press release after the jump.
The race to unveil the next must-have super car at the Frankfurt Motor Show has a new entry, and by the looks of things, it just might blow away the competition.
Meet the Lamborghini Reventón Roadster.
The car originally debuted in Frankfurt two years ago but since then, very little has been heard about it. It wasn’t until rumors started surfacing again that the stealth fighter-inspired Reventon supercar was giving birth to a Roadster version that talks surrounding the car’s reappearance began to intensify. And now, all the speculations can be put to rest: the car is on its way back to Frankfurt.
Specifications of the car are still being kept under wraps but what we do now is that the car comes with a jet-inspired carbon fiber body and 18-inch wheels. In addition to that, the car is being rumoured to have a 6.5-liter V12 engine that can produce an maximum output of 650 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque, topping at speeds in excess of 340 km/h.
It’s unveiling at Frankfurt is the surest sign we have that the car is finally ready to be rolled out of the plant, although were expecting limited models considering the price for each one is rumoured to start at around $1.75 million.
There are a few internet speculators that are anticipating the exotic Italian super car builder Lamborghini will unveil their topless version of the jet fighter inspired Reventon at the upcoming auto show this September. It would make sense for the Reventon Roadster to say hello to the entire world from Frankfurt, after all it was at the same show two years ago that the very stealth like Reventon made its official debut.
Details about the upcoming open air Lamborghini are not very clear, especially when it comes to the engine that will power the new Reventon. Initial rumors said that vehicle will use the same engine as the Lamborghini LP670-4SV, but the automaker might have problems putting all that power to the ground safely in a Roadster body. So the only thing that is left is the engine from the Lamborghini LP650-4 Roadster.
Either way it won’t matter which engine they choose, because the most attractive feature of the Reventon is its exterior, and because the it will be built as an extremely limited edition model, demand for the open air Reventon will always be in the stratosphere no matter how much power it makes, but will it be ready in time for Frankfurt?
No one expected to see a roadster version of the jet fighter inspired Lamborghini Reventon supercar before the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. However a few lucky individuals will have the opportunity to see it as early as today. That is because the Italian exotic builder has decided to unveil the exclusive luxury speed machine to a select group of likely Reventon Roadster clients.

The Lamborghini Reventon is not only one of the most desired super cars in the world, but it is also the most exclusive Lamborghinis of all time. One of these jet fighter inspired raging bulls has been caught this weekend at the Norisring in Germany. We have no need to remind you, that it looks amazing!
The Reventon is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 engine that produces 650 HP and accelerates the all wheel drive speed machine from 0 to 60 MPH in only 3.4 seconds and can hit a top speed of 211.25 MPH!
Enjoy the gallery below.
The Italian automakers proposed hybrid drive train is not the only special project coming out of the Lamborghini workshop. As Top Speed previously reported, the coachbuilder from Sant’ Agatha is preparing a Roadster version of their Reventon supercar.
The super car branch of the Volkswagen Group is also hoping to launch a new model by the end of 2009. The future Lambo’s power plant will be an advanced version of the 640 HP V12 from the Murciélago LP640, meaning more power and better performance than the factory hot rod. The new car will have a shorter wheelbase, making it more nimble; and will be wider for added stability through the turns and be constructed from lots of lightweight composite materials for efficiency. If all this is correct, this promises to be one of the best Lamborghinis ever. Ferrari’s next 450 might want to watch out.
If you thought that life would never be as sweet as when you were a child sitting under the tree on Christmas morning opening presents, we have some good news for you. If you want to recapture that feeling of of innocence and excitement all you have to do is call up your local Lamborghini dealer, and order a brand new Reventon.
Unfortunately all 20 Examples of the jet fighter inspired super car are already in the hands of collectors, but if you can find one that didn’t throw away the original packaging, you can once again enjoy the feeling of unwrapping one of the greatest presents in the world.
Check out the image gallery to the right to see what we are talking about.
Although it is not quite a Lamborghini Reventon, this clone does a very good impression of one. However; for $20,000 the replica is a huge discount compared to the Million dollar asking price that some owners are looking for. The car is being developed in Central America and comes complete with three year warranty. Maybe they could have done something about the wheels. See for yourself.
When we talk about cars limited to only 20 units, when one changes its wheels photographs are posted all over the internet. So when we are talking about the $1.4 Million Lamborghini Reventon, you can imagine the stir it creates.
Now, details are scarce, but Top Speed can confirm that this Reventon had a "little problem." As seen by the flat bed tow truck, oil and bits of engine left behind the car. Only one thing is for certain, on a car that rare, the repair bill won’t be pretty.
If you happen to be from the UK and have more details about the broken down Reventon, please let Top Speed know!
A Middle-Eastern Lamborghini Reventon owner recently pushed his Italian supercar to its limits conducting a top speed run which ultimately showed an astounding 356km/h (222mph) on the jet fighter inspired instrument panel.
For those who are a little confused by the title, V Max stands for maximum velocity, so now you know.
It’s not too hard to imagine the rumoredLamborghini Reventon roadster, just chop the little roof section and voilà la. But if the people at Global Motors are going to take the time to make a rendering, then we’re happy to revisit the idea of a 670 hp, €1,200,000 (about $1.6 million) roadster.
When a high school band needs to raise money, it has a bake sale; when Lamborghini needs to raise money, it drags out the old castings it has for an ultra-rare supercar and whips up an new batch without a top.
This seems to be the best explanation for rumors going around about a roadster version of the Reventon in the works. After all the current economy has caused Lamborghini to see a slowdown in sales and it possibly put the brakes on the Estoque, so what better way to get some cash by tapping into the ultra rich one more time.
Lambo won’t have a whole lot of work it has to put in to taking off the Reventon’s top. The roadster can likely utilize many of the production molds from the coupe. Also much of the engineering work can likely be borrowed from the Murciélago LP650-4 Roadster, and it will likely borrow the 670 hp engine from the Murcielago LP 670-4 SV.
Although the coupe was limited to only twenty units, the topless version will be an even more exclusive show. The roadster will be limited to nine cars, priced at €1,200,000 each (currently about $1.6 million).
Even with the state of the world’s economy it is almost certain that this supercar will be sold in no time all, even with its €1,580,000 (almost $ 2 Million) price tag. Let me tell you why, this Lamborghini Reventon is sitting at a dealership in Dubai. The emirate that was once rich with oil now profits from being a hub for business and destination for tourists. Dubai has become a center of wealth and extravagance. The Reventon exudes both.
The Reventon is a limited production supercar with only 20 examples being manufactured. The Lamborghini is powered by a 6.5 Liter V12 engine that delivers 650 HP at 8000 RPM and can hit a top speed of 211 MPH (340 km/h).
However this is not the only Reventon up for grabs. Jameslist is tracking 7 of the Italian supercars that are up for sale! One of them is for sale just up the street from our Topspeed Miami Beach office in Boca Raton, FL. We just might have to find some expensive suits and ask the dealer for a test drive.
Just because the Lamborghini Reventon is out of production, doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy watching it make some high-speed runs through Italy. Besides we just wanted a reminder of how cool the 6.5-liter 650 hp V12 engine is before we see it again in the Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster.
It’s hard to sell a used car these days, even if it’s only gone 73 miles. It probably doesn’t help that this Lamborghini Reventon cost about $1.5 million when new. So how should a Silicon Valley area dealer try to move its off the used car lot? Why not make it sound more rare.
For staters the car is described as one of ten imported to the U.S., but production numbers are double that. Also the is listed as having its power increased to 660 hp, but all Reventons have 660 hp. The increase is reffering to the 20 hp boost over the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 from which the Reventon is heavily based.
C’mon guys, you don’t need to try to drum up sales by trying to make your Reventon special. One of twenty made, 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph should be good enough for any Google executive to take notice.
There is no price tag revealed on the newest presidential limo. But if a country’s wealth is somewhat related to the presidential motorcade, then having a fleet of exotic cars including the 1 of 20 Lamborghini Reventon seems a little odd for the poverty stricken Chechen Republic.
President Ramzan Kadyrov doesn’t necessarily have to drive the Reventon because there are over 50 cars in the whole fleet. In a group that large, going for a Sunday drive can’t be that exhilarating. But it probably does help that the entire motorcade takes care of blocking all the roads for the prez.
The final bull has left the corral. If you were still hopping to buy the million-euro (over $1.25 million) Lamborghini Reventon, it’s time to check the auctions. According to Lamborghini, the final Reventón is now in the hands of its owner.
The U.K.-bound V12 Reventón, number 20 of 20, has a minimum 650 hp and a top speed in excess of 211 mph (no one has had one long enough to get a real test.) This now concludes Lambo’s Reventón project. If you feel like you missed out, remember these car were not exactly sitting on the lots. Each ultr-exclusive supercar was sold prior to its public reveal in September 2007.
The buyer, who wishes to remain nameless, seems like the kind of collector we like. He promises to drive the car instead of letting it collect dust as a trailer queen. He also says that he may let the U.K.’s only Reventón come out and play at motorsport and social events.
One of the most exclusive cars in the world (limited to only 20 units) was sold for $2,5 million on eBay. The lucky owner is from somewhere in California. He bought a Reventon with a mileage of only 73 miles.
The Reventon is powered by the same 6.5 liter V12 as the Murcielago LP640 but gets an additional 20 horsepower now producing a total of 660 bhp and a top speed of 211 mph. The car features very distinct styling both inside and outside which is inspired by aircraft and the body is made entirely of carbon fiber as well as significant portions of the interior. The car features all LED and Xenon headlights which is a first in the automotive industry. Only 10 Lamborghini Reventon’s have been built for the US, making it one of the most exclusive cars available today.
Lamborghini is bringing a few of its “must-see” cars to the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach this weekend. Included in this showcase will be the 2009 Gallardo LP560-4, 2008 Reventón and the 1989 Lamborghini P140 prototype.
The 2009 Gallardo LP560-4 is the latest from Lamborghini. It replaces the current Gallardo by offering a new 5.2 liter V-10 engine, permanent four-wheel drive transmission and an improved suspension.
The Reventón is Lamborghini’s ultra-exclusive supercar. It is Lamborghini’s most powerful and most expensive car ever. It is built from carbon fiber, and there are only 20 in the world. Although the mechanics are heavily based on the Murciélago LP640, the output of Reventón’s 6.5-liter V-12 is upgraded to 650 horsepower.
The P140 is significant because it bridges the gap between the Jalpa and the Diablo. The Jalpa was the “affordable” Lamborghini. It was built to compete with sub-supercar types, similar to the current Gallardo. Although it was never it was put into production, the P140 provides a clear visual evolution that took Lamborghini into the 90s.
If you’re one of the 20 luckiest people who will buy a Lamborghini Reventon unit, then you will definitely be interested about this new set of wheels manufactured by Forgiato. For those who don’t know the Reventon has 650 hp and can hit 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Due to this, the 20 inch Estremo wheels are manufactured carefully in order to support these performances. No words about the price yet!
The city of Turin looked to the sky today to see the new heights achieved by Lamborghini. The Lamborghini Reventón was carried by military helicopter over the automotive capital of Italy, thanks to the special co-operation of the Marina Militare Italiana (the Italian marines). It landed on the rooftop of the Lingotto building, and closed a conference hosted today by Lamborghini, entitled ”Lamborghini and speed – a project in record time”.
The conference explored the extraordinary timescales and design and production abilities demonstrated by Lamborghini in producing its € 1 million euro supercar, of which all 20 units have been sold worldwide. The conference was attended by local, international and academic VIPs including representatives from the automotive industry. Lamborghini’s conference was part of the “Turin 2008 – World Design Capital” programme of events.
The Lamborghini Reventon is limited to only 20 units; 19 of them were pre-sold for a price around $1.4 Million. The last of them, the first and only Reventon available for private sale arrived in Las Vegas. So, if you want a Reventon and have like $1.5 million (considering is the last one the price will be higher) here’s your last chance!
