Developing a car from scratch starts with some drawing and calculations, then the building of test prototypes, then pre-production cars, and eventually the pilot production vehicles. Most of the time, test prototypes are usually destroyed when their use has been exceeded, yet here we are looking at a test prototype of the Porsche 959 – a car that is believed to be one of the few surviving examples of the F-Series prototypes from 1985. It’s currently listed for sale on Mechatronik for an undisclosed price, but is It truly authentic?

The Lexus LFA needs no introduction. It was in production for two years and the company made 500 examples in total. For some reason, Lexus wasn’t able to sell all the 500 examples. As of the end of 2020, there was still one LFA unsold! But, that doesn’t mean the car doesn’t have a demand. An LFA with 7,000 miles on the odo recently hit the Bring-a-Trailer auction and it has already attracted the highest bid of $650,000! It could receive higher bids since there are three more days at the time of writing this article.

You Can Own This Unique 1968 Mercury Cougar GT-E XR-7 4-Speed
The first generation Mercury Cougar was released on September 30, 1966. It was instantly a success, and, as no surprise, in 1967 it received Motor Trend’s Car of the Year award. During its lifetime, the first generation Cougar received a series of V-8 engines, but one of the most powerful ones came in 1968 with the launch of the XR-7 GT-E package. Just FYI, the most powerful one was a 427 ci V-8 engine with a total output of 390 horsepower.
Only 394 units of the GT-E was produced in 1968 and, more importantly, there was only one unit that combined a 428ci Cobra Jet V-8, a four-speed manual transmission, and a 3.90:1 Traction-Lok differential. This specific unit is now being auctioned on bringatrailer.com.

The Ferrari 500 Mondial was inspired by a design created by Dino Ferrari to freshen up the look of the old 166. The first three of the 500 Mondials were built by Scaglietti, a young coachbuilder from Modena. Later, Pinin Farina made 15 of these, although a Ferrari historian, Marcel Massini, notes that 16 were made. The CLK GTR is a road-going race car that Mercedes-Benz produced in the late 90s to comply with racing regulations that required them to make a set number of road-going variants. Only 25 were built, with 20 being coupes and 5 being roadsters. This particular example was number nine of those 25. Also, aside from the name, the CLK GTR had nothing in common with the CLK of the time.
