Sam from ‘Sam CarLegion’ uploaded a video of an Audi S3 taking on a Mercedes-AMG A35 on his YouTube channel. Both the cars feature a four-pot turbo engine and an all-wheel-drive system, but the A35 is slightly more powerful on paper. Do you think this will play a role in the end result, or will the S3 be able to take down the A35?

Hennessey Performance is celebrating Christmas by delivering Christmas trees as fast as possible. The company’s previous sleigh, a Jeep Trackhawk, managed to deliver it by touching speeds of up 181 mph. But, this time, they want to get it done even faster. So, they’ve upgraded their sleigh to an Audi RS6 Avant that’s been tuned to make 800 reindeer; err., I mean 800 horses. They tried the same with a tuned Porsche 911 Turbo S recently, but it failed. But, the Audi RS6 Avant managed to break the record and is now officially Hennessey’s fastest Christmas tree transporter!

The Porsche 911 GT3 is the ultimate, normally-aspirated 911 and the YouTube channel AutoTopNL recently got its hands on a 992 GT3 Touring – the more street-oriented, “less shouty” version of the normally-aspirated track weapon, without the crazy aero. And while race tracks are the home of the GT3, here, we see how capable the wingless version is, on the Autobahn. Is the “purest 911” capable enough, in the age of turbocharged performance cars?

Christmas day is literally three days away, and if you haven’t set up your Christmas trees yet, then you’re in a lot of trouble. Some years ago Cadillac tied a Christmas tree to the roof of a CTS-V Wagon to perform a holiday burnout. Six years later, Hennessey Performance tied a tree to a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk to give us the world’s fastest Christmas tree. Sort of.

Everyone has that one car that means the world to them. Be that it is the first car you drove, the first car you bought with your own money, or the car you always dreamed of owning despite not having the money - there is always one that has a special place in your heart. But what if that car is even more special: what if that car was the car you bought for your wife a long time ago on that special Christmas? And what if life was hard on you and took your wife away from you?

Decorating the Christmas tree and then waiting for Santa to deliver his gifts can be hard for any kid out there. Hennessey however has another problem: it wants to know how fast can you deliver a Christmas tree in a 750 horsepower beast?

Remember the famous Christmas lights scene from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”? Well, the Griswolds reunited last year after two decades to reprise that scene, with the only change being the addition of a Ford Mustang Mach-E this time. Ford roped in Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo to play Clark Griswold and Ellen from the Christmas-themed movie. Do you the Griswolds managed to have a drama-free Christmas this time at least?

Just as Christmas is finally ready to descend on our weary but grateful souls, automakers left and right have been on a commercial rampage, touting their models in TVCs with the hope of getting some Youtube love. Mercedes-Benz isn’t immune to such strategies and the company proved as much by releasing the “Silent Night” commercial promoting the C350 e Plug-In Hybrid’s ability to balance its gas engine and electric motor.

The commercial starts off in a snowy landscape, capturing a downtrodden man pulling a recently cut-down Christmas tree. Before any of us can feel bad for the poor dude, the scene immediately shifts to the C 350 e Plug-In Hybrid speeding along and lugging its own tree, while rock music starts blaring. Care to guess where this is going? A few quality angles go by and the hybrid sedan passes a sign that says “Elektra”. Just as quickly, the music stops and the car goes eerily quiet as the lights go up in a surprisingly desolate Christmas village. This is Mercedes’ way of showcasing the aforementioned hybrid technology on the sedan, because as soon as the C 350 e Plug-In Hybrid exits the village, it roars back to life as it speeds past a rock band playing a rock version of “Silent Night”.

It’s not the best car commercial I’ve seen this holiday season, but for the purposes of getting its message across, I’d say that Mercedes accomplished that.
