New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center should have been preparing to host the 2020 New York Auto Show this time of the year, but instead it will be turned into a field hospital for COVID-19 patients.

Local authorities announced that the center will be ready to receive patients in seven to 10 days. The 2020 New York Auto Show was originally scheduled to open on April 10, but it was postponed to late August due to the coronavirus outbreak.

A new report as surfaced that the 2021 Ford Bronco will actually debut in April of 2020 at the New York Auto Show. During the debut, we’ll apparently get to see the two- and four-door versions of the revived SUV with the Bronco pickup and Bronco Sport (otherwise known as the “Baby Bronco”) set to debut sometime later. Does the report hold any merit or is someone playing with our emotions?

Let’s be frank for a moment – Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus isn’t exactly an automaker than anyone talks much about. It’s classified as a “low volume automaker,” but that’s probably only because there isn’t a smaller designation. Since the summer of 2017, when the company started building the 003S,it has produced just two customer examples and is currently working on the third. It’s not exactly a groundbreaking number. Be that as it may, it was just announced that the SCG003S is going to show up at the 2020 New York Auto Show with “over 320 changes” in place compared to the original car. It’s kind of a big deal, really.

The previous third-generation Toyota Highlander debuted back in 2013, with a facelift performed in 2016 that added an eight-speed automatic transmission, an updated spec for the V-6 engine, and a few aesthetic upgrades as well. Since then, the Highlander has proven to be one of the brand’s most-popular nameplates, selling some 245,000 units in 2018. That means it’s time for Toyota to give the Highlander a full-fledged generation update for 2020. Making its big debut at the 2019 New York Auto Show, the latest fourth-generation Toyota Highlander brings new styling inside and out, a raft of fresh technology for infotainment and safety, and a number of powertrain updates as well. However, can it still stay at the top of the segment?

Originally arriving in 1994, the Toyota RAV4 is one of the Japanese brand’s older nameplates, especially within the crossover segment. In the quarter century since the debut of the original RAV4, demand for crossovers has grown substantially, and sales of the compact Toyota have grown with it, eventually becoming the Japanese brand’s number-one seller in the U.S. However, the RAV4 last got a redesign in 2013, so to keep it fresh, Toyota just pulled the sheets on a new fifth-generation at the 2018 New York International Auto Show, bringing updated exterior styling, a redesigned interior, the latest safety tech, and a new architecture under the skin.

The Acura TLX PMC Edition is a special-edition version of the premium company’s compact sedan. Unveiled at the 2019 New York Auto Show, not long before the first-generation TLX is set to go out of production, the PMC Edition is more than just a limited-edition car with a few extra features. Unlike previous special-editions from Acura, the TLX PMC Edition is handcrafted in the Performance Manufacturing Center, where the NSX supercar is produced.

Combining the premium interior features of the Advance Package and the sporty exterior elements of the A-Spec line, the TLX PMC Edition stands out among its siblings and climbs at the top of the TLX lineup. The first vehicle to be part of the PMC Edition line, the TLX will soon be followed by an MDX crossover with similar features. Let’s find out what makes the PMC Edition stand out.

The Genesis Mint is a concept car that the luxury firm unveiled at the 2019 New York Auto Show. The first city car from Hyundai’s premium brand, the Mint concept was designed as "an accessory for the modern, urban lifestyle." There are no plans to put this design into production.

The Mint concept comes as a surprise from a company that aims at the larger car and SUV segments. The company’s vehicle that’s smaller than a compact, the Mint embraces the runabout body style that was popular in the early 1900s. A light, short vehicle with only two doors and seating for two, the Mint concept is a futuristic take on the Kei car, a highly popular segment in Japan. On top of the sleek, futuristic design, the Mint concept also features an all-electric drivetrain.

The 2020 Hyundai Venue is the company’s smallest and most affordable crossover yet. Introduced at the 2019 New York Auto Show, it slots right under the 2018 Hyundai Kona, but it sports a boxier design inspired by the full-size 2020 Hyundai Palisade.

Designed to compete against the 2020 Kia Soul and the 2019 Nissan Kicks, the 2020 Hyundai Venue is only available with a single four-cylinder engine that’s not overly powerful. However, the crossover offers substantial value for the money through numerous standard features, modern technology, and plenty of options usually available with more upscale vehicles. Mercedes-Benz attended the 2019 New York International Auto Show with a special edition electric SUV that pays tribute to its past and looks ahead to its future, all at the same time. It’s called the Mercedes-Benz EQC 1886 Edition, and as you might imagine, the “1886” in its name is a direct nod to the year Karl Benz applied for a patent for a “vehicle powered by a gas engine.” The EQC 1886 Edition is, in many ways, unique in its celebration of the German automaker’s history and its plans for a new electric-powered era of models. Like most special edition models, the EQC 1886 Edition benefits from a bevy of aesthetic upgrades in its exterior and interior. There’s no mention of any power and performance upgrades, though it’s hard to expect one from a vehicle whose identity is less about actual performance and more about showcasing Mercedes’ electrified future. Mercedes has yet to reveal a price tag for the special edition EQC, but it will be available sometime in 2020.

The 2020 Lincoln Corsair is a compact crossover and the company’s smallest SUV yet. The Corsair replaces the MKC, a crossover sold between 2014 and 2019 and also based on the Ford Escape. Unveiled at the 2019 New York Auto Show, the Corsair revived a nameplate that Ford used for the first time in 1958 for the Edsel brand. The Corsair is the third new nameplate introduced by Lincoln in the last two years following a decision to phase out its alphanumerical naming scheme.

Just like the MKC, the Corsair is based on the Ford Escape. But while the MKC was built on the old platform, the Corsair shares underpinnings with the fourth-generation, 2020 Ford Escape, also unveiled at the 2019 New York Auto Show. The redesign brings new technology and features as well as revised four-cylinder engines and eight-speed automatic transmission.

Named after two of the most extraordinary stretches of paved surface, the Stelvio QV NRing may present the only vehicle named after a mountain pass and a race track. One would expect to see the incredible supercar hidden behind this name, but the Stelvio QV is an SUV. A mad one at that, and even madder as the super-exclusive NRing Edition. Revealed alongside the aesthetically stunning Giulia QV NRing Edition, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio shares its unique ability to evoke Alfa Romeo Nurburgring achievements not many can match. However strange it may sound, the Alfa Romeo was cool at the Nurburgring before anyone could be cool there. This SUV celebrates that achievement.

The Cadillac CT5 is the company’s long-anticipated replacement for the already iconic CTS. Spotted testing for more than a year now, the CT5 was unveiled in March 2019 and made its public debut at the 2019 New York Motor Show. The CT5 broke cover with a surprising design. While the CTS is a traditional three-box sedan with a long deck lid, the CT5 is more of a fastback sedan, with a sloping roof that descends toward the edge of the rear fascia.

Needless to say, it’s an interesting approach for an automaker that just axed all four-door sedans save for the flagship CT6. The CT5 also boasts a brand-new interior that includes more premium materials, better fit and finish, and state-of-the-art technology. It’s also packed with new driving assistance systems, as well as an innovative semi-autonomous system. With all the big debuts from the 2019 New York Auto Show now written into the history books, it’s time to take stock of what went down. We’ve already covered the best wins right here, but what about the big misses? What about the lamest special editions and the weakest model updates? Last week, the world’s biggest automakers swarmed the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center to show off their latest and greatest models, delivering a host of fresh sedans, crossovers, and concepts to an auto-hungry public. As such, we’ve compiled all the hottest reveals right here for your perusal and enjoyment.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS represents the third generation of the company’s already iconic SUV. Introduced at the 2019 New York Auto Show, it offers more space, more comfort, and more luxury while retaining a familiar face. The GLS arrives to take on the BMW X7, the company’s first foray in the full-size SUV market, the Lincoln Navigator, and the Cadillac Escalade.

The GLS adopts Mercedes’ latest styling language, seen most recently on the smaller GLE crossover. The exterior has smoother surfaces and sportier fascias, while the interior borrows from the S-Class sedan but features a few unique cues as well. Under the hood, the GLS retains its two-engine lineup with V-6 and V-8 offerings for the U.S. market, but both units are paired to 48-volt mild hybrid systems.

Arguably, the most crucial launch event at the 2019 New York Auto Show was that of the third-generation Mercedes-Benz GLS. The flagship luxury SUV from Mercedes will take on the BMW X7 soon, but Mercedes could actually be cooking up a version that would aim straight at the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Insane? Not for those who saw the Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury Concept up close and personal.

After three years since the GLS name was introduced as part of Mercedes’ refreshment of its model nameplates, a new generation was introduced. Given the American consumer’s propensity for buying oversized SUVs, the 2020 GLS was introduced at the New York Auto Show, and the first news that came from the unveiling got us thinking. For starters, there won’t be any electric version due to the limited demand for an SUV of this size featuring an electric drivetrain and, on the other hand, for those craving for power, there will be an AMG version or maybe a few.

But, maybe the most significant thing we heard, via Dr. Andreas Zygan, Mercedes’ Head of SUV Development, was that the S Class of SUVs might get the Maybach treatment just like the S Class of the sedans did. This sort of comes as a confirmation for the rumors we’ve seen lingering in the air for a few years. We went as far as writing a speculative review for it but only now can we say we’re getting closer and closer to a Maybach SUV actually happening. Mercedes previewed this possibility with the latest of the Maybach Vision concept that was presented in 2018.

Maserati didn’t have any new vehicles to showcase at the 2019 New York Auto Show, but it did display a Levante customized by its Centro Stile division through its new One of One program. This time around, the unique Levante was designed for Ray Allen, two-time NBA champion and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee. This One of One model follows the Levante that Maserati built for Allegra Antinori, the vice president of famous Italian wine producer Marchezi Antinori.

The 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster is a really cool sports car that comes with a lot of extras over the regular 911, but you can customize it beyond that by ordering the Heritage Design Package. Crafted by Porsche Exclusive, the division responsible for bespoke features, it adds classic styling elements that link back to the roots of the German company.

If you want the ultimate front-engined Aston Martin experience and your bank accounts are adequately full, you have to go with the DBS Superleggera - the 715 horsepower monster that weighs under 4,000 pounds and can reach 211 mph. If you’re crazy about the brand’s history, then the DBS 59 is the car for you as it looks back at Aston’s first big splash in motorsport.

We’ve talked about the DBS Superleggera 59 before when Aston Martin first released a few pictures of the new limited-edition model commissioned by Aston Martin Cambridge for an occasion like no other in the brand’s history: the 60th anniversary of Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby’s sole overall win at Le Mans aboard the works-backed Aston Martin DBR1/300. We’re talking a lot here about a variety of manufacturers trying to find any sort of reason that could warrant the introduction of a special model, but this one right here is really special.

Why? Because it’s a way at looking back while keeping in mind that Aston Martin might mount an attack on Le Mans with its sights locked on the overall victory with a ’hypercar’ as per the new regulations that are set to be introduced in the World Endurance Championship in little over a year. These new rules, apparently, will allow Aston Martin Valkyrie-type cars to compete in what is currently the LMP1 category.
