Lamborghini introduced the Murciélago back in 2001 as a successor to the Diablo. The Murciélago was in production for almost a decade. It was the first new car after 11 years and also happened to be the first under its new parent, Volkswagen. The Italian car was also the new flagship V-12 and worthy to be the face of the company. The car sold in decent numbers – 4,099 examples to be exact – and is still a hit with enthusiasts.

This Wide-Body Lamborghini Murcielago Deserves to Come to Life
The Lamborghini Murcielago may have been discontinued back in 2010, but it’s still being included on lists about the greatest supercars ever built. Yes, it’s not as powerful and fast as its successor, the Aventador, but it’s ageing nicely and it still has what it takes to give modern supercars a run for their money. This widebody rendering by Jonsibal is proof that the Murcielago hasn’t been forgotten and a reminder that this Lambo looks incredible in a racing suit.
Rare 2009 Lamborghini Murcielago SV up for Sale
Super Veloce Racing (SVR), a racing car and supercar specialist based out of the U.K., is putting this extremely yellow Murcielago SV Coupe up for sale. Not only is it striking to look at and mind-bending to drive, but this particular example is also quite rare, bearing chassis number 022 of a total 186 Murcielago SV models constructed. It’s also one of only 28 built in the right-hand drive configuration. According to SVR’s website, pricing is set at 325,500 pounds, or $434,310 at current exchange rates (09/12/2016). SVR is accepting applications for purchase now.
First things first – the Murcielago LP 670-4 is powered by a mid-mounted, naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 engine producing roughly 670 horsepower – 30 ponies more than the base Murcielago. Torque is rated at 487 pound-feet. Cog swaps are handled by a six-speed automatic transmission, while a high-performance AWD system makes traction. Properly motivated, this Raging Bull can hit 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed in excess of 200 mph.
And of course, being an SV, this thing is studded with aerodynamic enhancements from nose to tail. There’s a new fascia, bigger intakes, and tons of vents. This particular example was fitted with the carbon fiber Aeropack Wing, which takes a few mph off the top speed, but also adds lots of extra downforce.
It’s also got carbon brakes, a carbon fiber diffuser, glossy black alloy wheels, a carbon fiber engine cover, yellow brakes calipers, and black SV graphics laid over a Giallo yellow paint job. Inside, there’s carbon fiber trim, black Alcantara upholstery, and yellow contrast stitching.
There are 15,646 miles on the odometer, and all vehicle maintenance was performed at official Lamborghini Service Centers.

Normally, the dash-cam videos we see from Russia involve a healthy dose of road rage or an attempt at insurance fraud, which is apparently a big thing there. Today, however, we’re looking at a video from early June that involves a Lamborghini acting like, well, a Mustang. The video was originally scrutinized by various media outlets as being fake, but other footage and images from the accident have since gone public, and the accident you see in this video is very real.
The Lamborghini itself has a chrome finish, which is why the video has a fake-looking element to it. After reviewing the video, it seems as if the driver of the now-smashed Lambo was attempting to bob and weave through traffic in some pretty nasty weather. It is clearly raining, but if you turn up the volume, it sounds like it could have been hailing as well. That said, the Lambo didn’t stand a change going balls to the wall in those conditions. As it passed the car with the dash cam, it lost control, veered across the highway, and nails the center median.
It’s unclear as to whether or not the driver of the Lambo was hurt, but we know his ego is bruised and he’s out one pretty sweet car. Sucks to be him. The SUV that the Lambo initially hit looks like it didn’t even get a scratch as the Lambo swings around it – something that added fuel to the possibility of the video being fake – and it doesn’t seem that any other vehicles were involved in the accident. With that said, hit the play button and watch some overly confident driver make an expensive mistake.
Fast 8 Shows Off "Ice Cars" For Iceland Location
Since it was announced that Fast 8 would have segments of the movie filmed in Iceland, a lot of people have wondered if the production team would have a specific set of cars for Dominic Toretto and his motley crew. It took a few months, but now we have an answer. The menu of cars that will apparently be used includes a highly modified Dodge ‘Ice’ Charger that looks to have had better days judging by the production photos and a suspension-juiced Rally Fighter that appears to have been set up to tackle the icy conditions.
Suffice to say, the roster of cars is as varied as anything we’ve seen from the Fast & Furious franchise. Obviously, Toretto (Vin Diesel) will be behind the wheel of the Ice Charger, as is with Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) in the Rally Fighter. Other than those two cars, the vehicle lineup also includes a pair of military vehicles – the Ice Ram and the Ripsaw – and an out-of-its element Lamborghini Murcielago that will be driven by the team’s automotive Liberace, Roman Pierce (Tyrese Gibson).
It certainly not surprising that one of the military vehicles will be driven by Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) given his penchant for going for the biggest and most badass ride he can get his hands on. And as far as Tej (Ludacris) is concerned, he’s going to control the Ripsaw, a developmental unmanned light tank. Considering that, don’t be surprised if Tej, being the tech guy of the group, finds a way to control the Ripshaw from a safe distance.
The lineup of cars is definitely eclectic, though that sounds like a conservative observation. Then again, it’s not like the franchise hasn’t set a precedent for going a tad overboard with the cars that have been used in the past seven movies. After all, this is the same franchise that thought it was physically believable to launch a Lykan Hypersport from one building to another…and another.

Mechanic Dies After Crashing Russian MMA fighter’s Lamborghini
It’s one thing to own or drive a vehicle like the Lamborghini Murcielago, and it’s another to push yourself and the car beyond the limit. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened recently when two men were transporting Russian MMA fighter Adam Yandiev’s Murcielago to a repair shop.
The driver, who was a Mechanic at a workshop in Moscow, was killed instantly. The passenger, who was found to be breathing but unconscious at the scene was transported to a hospital where, as of the time of this writing, he was alive but still in a coma. As you can see from the image, the car had to have been travelling at a high rate of speed at the time of impact, as the car was almost cut in half by the lamp pole.
We were able to find a video from the scene that was recorded from a GoPro camera on a motorcycle rider’s helmet. In the video description, the poster claims that an iron base column was bounced more than 90 feet away from the vehicle in the event of the collision. When the rider arrives at the scene, debris is seen pretty far away from the car itself.
Note: If you’re going to watch the video, be aware that it is quite graphic, as both passengers are still in the vehicle during the recording, and emergency personnel had yet to arrive. If you have a weak stomach or have children around, you might want to skip watching this one.
It took a lot for Liberty Walk and Phat Five racing to turn a Murcielago into a freaking drift machine, but somehow they did it. Of course, it took some “monster garaging,” if you will. The car has Nissan throttle bodies, a Toyota Celsius steering rack, and even steering knuckles from a Toyota Supra – among many other aftermarket modifications, of course. The end result is a rear-wheel drive, 650-horsepower piece of pleasure. As if that Lambo itself isn’t crazy enough, it’s driver, Daigo Saito, took the car to an abandoned village in Russia to play with Vaughn Gittin Jr’s 550 horsepower Mustang RTR.
I won’t even begin to ruin the video for you, as you absolutely have to see it for yourself. The drift sequences and precision alone are absolutely amazing, let alone the amazing location of the video shoot. The two drivers, and their equally superior cars, wreak havoc in the daylight and moonlight (with a few flares along the way.) The camera angles are amazing, and for this one, you’ll want to wear headphones if you’re not in a setting that allows high volume. The sound of these two cars effortlessly drifting around the Russian village is a treat in itself.
Needless to say, if you don’t watch this video, you’re missing out. So hurry up and hit play. The video has only been posted two days and is already approaching 1.5 million views. Don’t be the only guy at the water cooler Monday morning that didn’t watch it!
While seeing Lamborghinis cross the block at auctions across America is far from rare, it’s not too often that the same event gets to sell six of them. This rare display will be hosted by Mecum’s sale in Seattle on June 5th to 6th, where Lamborghini enthusiasts will get to buy — or at least admire — six Italian bulls built from 1989 to 2010.
Yes, there won’t be any Miuras or Espadas to ogle at, but the Lambo lot includes a late-edition Countach and a bundle of Diablos and Murcielagos, some of which are very rare.
The oldest supercar on sale is a 1989 Countach 25th Anniversary. Part of the limited, 658-unit edition that marked the end of the nameplate, this car is also one of only 187 examples produced with fuel injection for the U.S. and Canadian markets. The Bianco White-painted Countach has 28,420 miles on its odo.
Next in line is a black 1992 Diablo. Though it’s only a standard model, it does feature a rear wing, SV wheels, and Pirelli P Zero tires. With only 11,643 miles on the clock, it should attract a few bidders. The second Diablo to go under the hammer is a 1999 model year Roadster. Significantly more powerful than the early coupe, it has 30,188 miles on the odometer and just received a $12,500 major service. It features a front lift system, navigation, polished wheels, and an aftermarket stereo head unit with six-disc CD player and remotes.

Office furniture tends to be pretty conservative in terms of its design, often minimalist to the point of being depressing to look at. Not every workplace is so set on spirit-crushing anonymity, but those that aren’t have a somewhat limited selection of practical furniture that’s also fun. But Design Epicentrum has car lovers covered with a new series of desks made to look like the front ends of supercars.
At the moment, the desks seem to come in only two varieties, Bugatti and Lamborghini (sold without any badging, presumably for legal reasons), although a number of different colors are offered. Given what must be a fairly limited market for such things, we wouldn’t count on any more models being introduced. The desks are also large, so space is a consideration, but they could certainly make for a cool reception desk, or a home office desk for someone who has the space. That person will also need some money, because the price is listed as “on request,” which is code for “expensive.” But the craftsmanship really is top notch, looking every bit like someone simply sawed the front off of an exotic. The design also blends the desk and car together well, making for the best desk/car combination you could hope for.

They say that you only celebrate a 50th birthday once, so when it happens, you might as well make it as memorable as possible.
Italian automaker Lamborghini is in the middle of its 50th anniversary celebrations and since the start of the year, it’s celebrated it with the kind of extravagance befitting of its stature in the industry.
Recently, things took an interesting turn in the United Kingdom when the UK Lamborghini 50th Anniversary 50th Anniversary Tour officially opening its doors to the public.
Held at the Danesfield House in Buckinghamshire, over 50 Lamborghinis participated in the event with models ranging from the classic Countachs all the way to the current Aventador Roadsters. In between, there were Murcielagos, Diablos, Gallardos, and even the one-off Oakley Design Aventador LP760 Nasser Edition.
Needless to say, it was as close to a Lamborghini overdose as you could possibly get, and not surprisingly, Shmee150 was right in the middle of all the festivities with cameras in tow.

When it comes to cars, nothing breaks our hearts more than seeing a supercar go up in flames. So, imagine the depression in the room when we watched this video.
A trailer full of exotics - four of them, actually - all turned into scrap metal after a fire in a BMW eventually led to all four cars getting completely engulfed in a fiery blaze. According to news reports in Thailand, the cars were an unidentified BMW, a Lamborghini Murcielago, a Ferrari F430 and a Bentley Continental.
The cars were being towed on a trailer with the driver saying he was transferring them from a showroom in Bangkok to a gas station in the Si Sa Ket province on the Thai-Cambodia border, where an "unknown person" would be there to pick them up. Sounds like a shady transaction, huh?
But all that changed when all four exotics caught fire, not only destroying some fine supercars but also costing a total of 100 million baht, which is about $3.3 million based on current exchange rates.

Lamborghini no longer produces Murcielagos, so it was a bit surprising to see a Japanese tuning company make headlines for dressing one up. Make no mistake about it, if you’re carrying this set-up, you’re more than welcome to occupy our time.
Coming from the folks over at LB Performance is this military-themed program called "T-02" for the once-mighty Italian supercar. In keeping with the imposing look for the Murcielago, LB Performance decked the exotic with a body kit that comes with a slew of new components. There’s a new front bumper spoiler and a bumper type II. There’s a new front diffuser type II, side skirts and side diffusers.
Over at the back, the Japanese tuner installed a new carbon fiber wing an optional diffuser. Rounding the program of are four 20-inch LB forged wheels that have been custom-finished to mesh well with the military-inspired look of the Murcielago, a carbon fiber eyeliner and entrance mall, side military decals, and last but certainly not least, an LB original valve exhaust system.
If you followed us in the past few months, you have likely noticed that when it comes about cars, gold has become the new black. With this in mind, SR Auto Group has designed a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV.
SR Auto Group teamed up with PUR Wheels and equipped the supercar with a set of Monaco Gold wheels, which are sized 19 inches up front and 20 inches at the rear. Even better, this particular Aventador features the first set of Monaco Gold PUR 8IGHT’s ever produced.
You have to admit; the gold fits the wheels perfectly and works in perfect harmony with the car’s white exterior paint and numerous carbon fiber elements.
Under the hood, the Murcielago keeps its usual 6.5-liter V-12 engine that delivers a total of 670 horsepower. The Super Veloce hits 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 212 mph, so we have no issue with SR Auto Group not touching the engine.
Our favorite YouTube user has just shot another incredible video: Valentino Balboni behind the wheel of a matte blue Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Superveloce at Monza. We’re not talking about a genuine SV model, but a first generation Murcielago with a full conversion. The car is equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox, a Tubi Style exhaust system, and a small rear wing.
This video includes multiple start ups, revs, accelerations on the track, and a few launches. You will also be able to enjoy incredible engine sound, so don’t forget to turn up your volume!

A standard Lamborghini Murcielago SV is powered by a 670 HP V12 engine, making it the most powerful Murcielago ever built. That being said, there are tuners out there that feel as though it can do much better. One of these tuners is Covert Tuning Dynamics who have unveiled the LP2000-2 SVTT tuning package, also known as "The Stig."
As its name suggests, the LP2000-2 SV has increased the V12’s output from the standard 670 HP to an impressive 2,000 HP. While the tuner didn’t reveal how this amazing increase was obtained, the TT in the title makes us think that a pair of twin-turbos are the culprit. The car is also 550 lbs lighter than the standard SV, which, along with the power increase, should make for amazing performance numbers from this monster.
We would have gone for a sleek and sexy black exterior, other than the purity of a white finish, but other than that, all we can say is WOW!

Lamborghini destroyed in I-196 crash
The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 not only costs a medium-sized fortune, it also pumps 631 ponies from its 6.5-liter V-12 engine. That really should give you the confidence to not need to race anyone, as you would beat three-quarters of the cars on the road anyhow, especially a compact import econobox.
So when a “Toyota-type passenger car” pulls along side your $400K+ car and starts revving his little 4- or 6-banger, you should just look, smile, and carry on as normal. Apparently, a Michigan man didn’t get this memo, as he chose to allegedly fly down the highway with said Toyota-type car trailing – you do the math; sounds like a race to us – and proceeded to wreck his beautiful Murcielago.
This wasn’t just some little “oopsy” fender bender either. He put his pricey Lambo straight into a line of trees at a very high speed. On top of that, the car then turned into a very expensive ball of flames, leaving the Lambo a charred and melted mess. Fortunately, the driver got out of the car safely and only suffered a bump on the head and a huge bump in his wallet.
The only thing that comes to our mind is “Why?” Why on earth would you put so much effort into racing a freaking Toyota passenger car that you careen off of the road and slam your $400K+ car into the treeline? Hopefully this guy takes two lessons from this ordeal:
No. 1: Street racing is for tool bags that are attempting to compensate for something.
No. 2: Don’t race your $400K car against a Toyota... It’s bad Karma (Fiery Fisker pun intended).
No matter what kind of car someone drives, they always want something that is faster and better. The good ol’ Murcielago was the car to own when it first debuted, but then the Lamborghini Aventador appeared and many forgot about the Murcielago, unless you just so happen to own one. Fear not, Murcielago owners, EVS Motors is here to put some more pep in your step with a new tuning package that reinvents the look of your supercar. It can’t transform it into an Aventador, but customers can still take a step up from the standard model.
This bright yellow Murcielago belongs to a chap in Houston who wanted to make his standard Murcielago look like the more powerful SuperVeloce version. This was achieved with a new front bumper, new side skirts, a new rear bumper with large diffuser, and a new rear wing. This impressive package is completed by a new set of gloss black ADV5.0 Deep Concave wheels, sized 19" up front and 20" at the rear, offered by ADV.1 Wheels. The paint job was done by Royal Collision who did a very nice combination of yellow and black.
The Italian Stampede sounds as if it is a horrific running of wild bulls that includes lots of carnage and body parts. Well, in reality, it is a wonderful collection of various Italian supercars “racing” from Los Angeles to Monterey, California. Why Monterey? Well, that just so happens to be where the Concorso Italiano is being held.
This year, there is a special entrant leading the pack and that is a 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago wrapped in matte pink from front to rear and top to bottom. So why in the world is this Lamborghini all in pink? Well, the Lamborghini Club America is holding a Gala on Saturday to help support breast cancer awareness and this car is to help draw attention to both the Gala and the seriousness of breast cancer awareness.
We spoke with Andrew Romanowski, the President of the Lamborghini Club America and owner of this wrapped Lambo, and he let us know that it was not only the Lamborghini Club America involved in this great benefit, but Al & Ed’s Autosound and Protective Film Solutions also had a large hand in making this car a possibility.
While we had him on the phone, Andrew let us in on a little more info about the car. It is a 2006 model with an aftermarket exhaust system. We didn’t get into power numbers, as he was at the Concorso Italiano and we didn’t want to keep him from the droves of folks asking about this fantastic car and cause, but we assume this system would add about 10 to 15 extra ponies to its already stout 6.2-liter V-12 engine that pumps out 580 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 479 pound-feet of torque at 5,400 rpm.
Hats off to the folks at Lamborghini Club America, Al & Ed’s, and Protective Film Solutions for creating such an awesome car and supporting a great cause. You can see a video of the wrap being put on after the jump.
A stunning black Lamborghini Murcielago recently crashed into a BMW Motorcycle dealership in Como, Italy, destroying eight motorcycles and sustaining massive exterior damage itself.
The driver reportedly lost control of the high-powered supercar a few days ago, although no additional details have been released about why the driver lost control. We suspect speed was a factor.
Fortunately, both the driver and passenger managed to escape the incident uninjured. However, the eight motorcycles and Lamborghini involved weren’t so lucky. After losing control, the Murcielago speared into the dealership which was lined with motorcycles, while the showroom itself also suffered damage, this time only minor.
As a result of the destruction caused by this crash, the repair and replacement bill is set to spiral into the hundreds of thousands of dollars as the Murcielago is likely to be a complete write-off while all motorcycles will have to be replaced.

The Lamborghini Murcielago may no longer be in production, but a certain German tuner is determined to keep the spirit of the once-mighty Italian super car alive and well.
DMC Tuning has prepared an extensive styling and performance kit for the 1st generation Murcielago, no small feat considering the car first entered production in 2001 and moved on in 2006 to become the LP640. But apparently, DMC Tuning didn’t mind working on the project, and to their credit, they built a program that should make Murcielago owners stand up and take notice.
The first order of business was building the new aero kit, which was done while trying to give the car better downforce. DMC used carbon fiber to redesign the front and rear bumpers while also adding a glass engine cover and a rear wing spoiler. Inside, expect a host of modifications as well, particularly the use of high-grade leather and carbon fiber.
From there, it was on to engine modifications with the German tuner putting in twelve single intake throttle plates, one for each cylinder. A host of components were also replaced, including gasoline pumps, pressure modulators, and injection nozzles, while the crankshafts were customized so they could into the new components. Finally, DMC went and reprogrammed the engine electronics while also adding an electronic load pressure control system.
DMC didn’t mention the Murcielago’s new numbers, but judging from the name of the program - LP700 - we’d venture a guess that the output is now 700 horsepower.
If that’s the case, then that’s exactly what the Murcielago’s successor, the Lamborghini Aventador, is capable of producing. Pretty impressive, if you ask us.

The videographer, who in this case was shooting for the supercarsoflondon YouTube channel, asked the owner to rev his stunning Lamborghini not expecting the onslaught which would soon followed.
An angry man swiftly goes up to the Lamborghini in protest that the insane revving “scared” him and others around the car, before releasing a barrage of assaults. That is when the NSFW content comes into play.
Although the owner does insult the pedestrian after his initial complaint, it didn’t warrant the insults which followed. The owner goes on to continually state that he was simply doing it as a favor to the man filming, but the “mental guy” doesn’t take that for an excuse.
Check out the video, and it’s obvious which side of the argument we’re on as who in their right minds could not enjoy that lovely exhaust note, but whose side are you on?

The individual picture in question was captured out the front of the Puerta da Alcalá in Madrid, and features some incredible light streaks from passing by cars, one of which was a Ferrari F430 coupe. Add to that the monument being lite up in an incredible shade of light blue and you have one of the very best shots of the Murcielago SV we’ve ever seen.
However, we didn’t feel that was enough for this week and also gathered all of the model & supercar pictures for you guys as we can never get enough of this combination.
Despite being a couple years old, theLamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV is still the second most powerful Lamborghini production car ever produced, behind the Aventador, with its 6.5-liter V12 delivering 662HP which is enough to launch the supercar to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds and onto a top speed nearing 210mph.
If for some reason you see a Lamborghini Murcielago look the part of a fire department vehicle complete with emergency lights on its roof, don’t confuse it for a novelty car; it was actually built to be. At least according to the dudes that made it, the "world’s only Lamborghini Rapid Response Unit."
Yep. You just the words ’Lamborghini’ and ’Rapid Response Unit’ in the same quotation marks. This Murcielago was built by Martino Auto Concepts from Glen Cove, New York as a way to pay homage to the Glen Cove Fire Department for their 175th year of service to the community.
The Murcielago comes dressed to look like a service vehicle, complete with GFCD badging - that’s the Glen Cove Fire Department - and a plethora of fire department-relative livery. Even better, it also has a set of emergency lights on its roof, adding more flavor to what we obviously think is already a fantastic Italian supercar.
Power modifications were left out, but the Murcielago still carries a piece of work for an engine. Under its hood, you’re going to find a 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces upwards of 600 horsepower.
Don’t get us wrong; we love our jobs to pieces. There are a few things in this world more gratifying than writing about cars for a living, but of those "few" things, one of them is what Jason Cammisa of Automobile Magazine is doing in this video.
With the resources of having a line-up of different Lamborghinis at his disposal, Jason gets behind the wheel of each one of them for some quality down time along a deserted stretch of road. The list of Lambos that Cammisa managed to drive includes the Miura, the Countach, the Diablo VT, the Murcielago, and yes, the Italian automaker’s latest pride and joy, the Aventador.

Getting the chance to see one Lamborghini driving down your street makes for a great day and getting to see five all in one place is a rare opportunity, but being witness to 50 Lamborghinis on the same road is simply unheard of. Youtube user, Maxson Goh, however, seemed to be at the right place at the right time when he was able to catch no less than 50 Lamborghini models arrive for a gathering in Singapore. Now that’s an incredible lucky man!
The most impressive part is that he had the chance to see almost every model in Lamborghini’s history in just one day, as the models invited to the party included Gallardos, Murcielagos, the new Aventador, as well as the older Diablo. Special edition models like the Superleggera and the Super Veloce were also present. Now that’s what we like to call a perfect day!
A magnificent blast from the past gets a twin turbo setup and there’s no way we weren’t going to spread it around like wild fire. Robert Himler, creator of the titillating videos of his Underground Racing-tuned Lamborghini Gallardo, has moved on to a bigger and better project: the Lamborghini 670-4 SV Twin Turbo. The project is currently under development, but it is supposed to be ready by March 2012 and aims to be "the world’s fastest and best Lamborghini."
The biggest change for the special Murcielago will be its new RWD system, and not the AWD on the standard LP 670-4 SV. Himler opted to remove the front differentials, half-shafts, and torque tube - all of which allowed for a 125lbs reduction of the car’s weight. The secondary cats and muffler were also removed and the weight was then reduced by 89 lbs. The next part of the transformation was the addition of a pair of turbochargers resulting in an output of more than 1000 RWHP, blasting the standard 670 HP out of the water.

We’ve all been introduced to Robert Himler, the dude that loves taking passengers and driving them around in his Underground Racing-tuned Lamborghini Gallardo. Apparently, Robert isn’t the only one in his circle that’s obsessed with taking fast cars and making them faster than anything we’ve ever seen.
One of his friends is David Wiggs, a man who just bought a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce and is in the process of putting his supercar through an insane performance modification that will net the Italian Lambo with an astonishing 1,600 horsepower.
To accomplish that, Wiggs shaved the Murcielago’s weight by removing a few materials, including the front differential, the half-shafts, the torque tube, the muffler, all while converting it from an AWD to a RWD. The result was weight savings of over 200 pounds with further changes still expected to be made.
The target, like we said, is 1,600 rear horsepower, which is just absolutely nuts and something that Himler’s 1,250-horsepower Gallardo will have a difficult time competing against.

This surely isn’t the first time we’ve seen one car chasing another in a tunnel, after all, we just witnessed a Ferrari 458 chasing a McLaren MP4-12C recently. But this time it’s a Lamborghini Murcielago going up against a 2012 Nissan GT-R.
The best part of this video is that both of the supercars showcased were updated so both sound that much better. The Murcielago received an aftermarket exhaust and the GT-R - a Black Edition - has received a Kreissieg exhaust system.
Our advice would be to turn up your volume - really loud - and enjoy this amazing video. It’s really worth it, even if it’s a little on the short side because it gives us more proof that there are some pretty amazing cars, even if we probably won’t ever get the chance to drive them.

Now that the Aventador has come into play, some may have forgotten about the SV, so here’s a reminder. The Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 with an increased output of 670 HP and a lighter weight compared to a standard Murcielago, 220 lbs lighter to be exact. As a result, the car will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 212 mph.

What can be better than a supercar? The answer is quite simple: more supercars brought together! This video was shot during a "private" supercar rally and brings together some of the most amazing cars in the world.
In it, you will see the one-off Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster LP640 "Versace Edition", a Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GTs in black, purple, and gold, a Lexus LF-A, a Nissan GT-R, a Lamborghini Murcielago SV, a Mercedes SLR, a Porsche 911 Turbo, a Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni Edition, and well we could go on and on like this forever.
The first three minutes of the video will show an impressive supercar parade, but if you want to hear some wonderful exhaust music, fast forward up to the 3:30 mark. Our advice is for everyone to turn up their volume and enjoy! We can assure you that the video is worth every second!
Titles can be a little deceiving. At first we thoght this tuning sensation was quite possibly a new ride in the Need for Speed franchise, but it’s actually a project completed by Need4Speed Motorsports, a tuning firm based out of Glendale, California with over 20 years of combined experience in the wheel and tire industry. This tuning masterpiece is based on the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster and includes a lightweight body kit and, of course, a killer set of new wheels.
The Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster by Need4Speed Motorsports includes a body kit made entirely of carbon fiber, with the exception of the steel roof and door panels. The interior also gets carbon Fiber trim with an optional carbon fiber engine brace. The car sits on a new set of HRE 590 R 19×8.5 front and 20×13 rear wheels that were actually custom painted in Arancio paint and combined with carbon fiber brakes. The car will also be equipped with a double wishbone suspension with coil springs, gas dampers, and an anti-roll bar.
No engine upgrades were provided for the Lamborghini, but the Roadster already comes packed with a powerful 6,192cc V12 engine producing 580 hp at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 479 lbs-ft at 5400 rpm. It can sprint 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, while top speed goes up to an impressive 199mph.

While its become obvious that Lamborghini has become more aggressive in promoting the new Aventador supercar as their flagship model, a lot of people still haven’t forgotten about the supercar the Aventador replaced.
For a lot of us, the Lamborghini Murcielago is still a sentimental favorite. PUR Wheels, a US-based wheels specialist, is one of those that still hold the Murcielago in high regard, particularly the special edition Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce.
The American tuning company specializes in building custom wheels for some of the world’s most famous exotic cars and for the Murcielago LP670-4 SV, PUR Wheels made sure to dress up the supercar with only the best set of wheels in the market. In this particular case, the custom wheels offer a perfect contrast to the chameleon-like Green and Pink Pearlescent exterior finish, which may seem like an odd color combination for a car of this stature, but has turned this supercar into a true piece of Italian beauty.
As far as the powertrain is concerned, the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 is powered by an upstanding 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces a mouth-watering 670 horsepower. It also boasts of a 0-60 mph sprint time of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 212 mph.
If a car is capable of performance figures like that and look sexy as hell while doing it, then it doesn’t matter whether the model is gone or not.
Now that the Aventador has up and replaced Lamborghini’s steadfast seller - the Murcielago - tuners are now sharpening their fangs and sinking them into projects for the gone but not forgotten model. For those that liked SR Auto Group’s rendition of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce, but failed to have an SV model waiting for the transformation, meet Lamborghini-tuning extraordinaire, DMC. This German tuner has created an upgrade package for the Lamborghini Murcielago that converts the standard supercar to the top of the line Super Veloce model.
The package starts off with the usual array of exterior modifications, including new bumpers, an integrated rear diffuser, and a large rear wing, all of which are made of carbon fiber. Topping off the exterior look is a new set of wheels and more carbon fiber goodies for the interior.
Not one to leave well enough alone, DMC pumped up the supercar’s V12 engine from an output of 572 HP to 600 HP and 353 lb-ft of torque to 365 lb-ft. Not exactly the 670 HP and 490 lb-ft of torque found in the actual SuperVeloce model, but we’re sure customers will take what they can get. That added grunt was provided with an ECU remap and the DMC stainless sports rear silencer and sport metallic catalytic converter bring forth a sportier sound.
We appreciate people that can break a dance or two anytime, but there are still some places that are are a little more conducive to dancing than others. A gas station, unfortunately, isn’t one of them.
This is especially true when you’re trying to gas up a Lamborghini Murcielago. Now, the sudden bust-a-move of this dude isn’t all that embarrassing because he doesn’t appear to have two left feet, but the underlying dangers that come with what he’s doing are far too great to even play with, not the least of which is spilling gas on the Murcielago’s paint. That alone will cost more than a full tank on the Lamborghini.
But risks notwithstanding, you still have to give props to Deuce Bigalow over there. He clearly has jukin’ moves and from the looks of things, he also appears like he knows what to do with a gas pump, but we won’t go there.

Project Veneto by SR Auto Group started its life as a "simple" Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce. It probably had no idea that once the head honchos in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy were finished with its design, a tuning firm like SR Auto Group would swoop in and make it look like Barney.
The LP670-4 SuperVeloce is the ultimate Murcielago, so to change something like its exterior color is the most simplistic way to ruin the elegance of the vehicle. SR Auto Group sees it differently. The tuner stated, "Within a short timeframe, Project Veneto was dressed in a brand new outfit. Just like fashion, the purpose is to create stunning pieces that have all eyes locked. Project Veneto is vivid, strong, edgy, and most of all unique."
We’re not so easily convinced of the grandiose nature of this tuning project. In fact, we think the quick turnover of the Project Veneto was the fastest way to bastardize an otherwise beautiful supercar. Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
Japanese tuning company, Liberty Walk Performance, is a household name in the Japanese tuning scene. With their works finding their way on the Web, these guys are well on their way to being recognized the world over as a pretty bad ass company.
Known for their works on exotic supercars, LWP has come out with a new kit for the Lamborghini Murcielago called the ’LB-R Zero Fighter’. The styling kit features a new paint scheme that was inspired by Zero Fighter planes from World War II. The military theme of the whole LB Performance Type 2 body kit also features camouflage-themed seats on the interior with the calipers given the same treatment. In addition to that, the car also comes with a set of Werfen GT-04 wheels with similar camo pattern barrels.
As far as performance upgrades go, LWP left the supercar’s powertrain untouched, opting to keep the Murcielago’s 6.5-liter V12 engine the same. Can’t say we blame them, considering that on its own, the supercar is already capable of producing 631 horsepower at 8000 rpm and 487 lb/ft at 6000 rpm.
With most programs for the Murcielago, LWP’s project is a unique military take on a modern-day exotic that figures to get much more attention than a stock Murcielago ever could.
The departed Murcielago is no longer part of Lamborghini’s future, but it certainly doesn’t mean that we’ve seen the last of this highly popular supercar. That much you can be sure of when tuning companies like Wheelsandmore are still around.
The German tuning firm famous for some pretty sick projects in the past have outdone themselves yet again with their new program for the Murcielago LP670-4 SV. The project is fittingly called the Murcielago Final Edition, a nice homage to the recently discontinued Lamborghini supercar. And in choosing what type of Murcielago to work on, Wheelsandmore opted for the grand-daddy of them all, the Super Veloce.
The fact that there’s only 350 units of this kind in the world already makes the Super Veloce a rare piece of Lamborghini, but Wheelsandmore’s program for the supercar adds another element of exclusivity. Aesthetically, the changes include dressing up the car in an olive green color scheme with matching skull logos on both sides of the door. We’re not entirely sure what the skull logos are doing there, but we’re also not about to question these guys on their own project.

We all know that one of the few reasons a chicken crosses the road is to get to the other side. However, more often than not, it’s a dog, duck, or even a cat that scurries across that same road to reach its destination. In this instance, the animal in question just so happens to be a furry little squirrel and his reason to get to the other side is far more death-defying.
During the Ultimate Lamborghini Experience 4 in California, a squirrel was taking his chances crossing the road when a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV driving at over 100 mph zoomed down and just missed the furry critter. The squirrel was smart enough to slow down and let the Lamborghini pass right over it, but unfortunately, it wasn’t quick enough to tuck its tail in. Other than a shorter tail, the squirrel scurried away from the incident unharmed, but probably quite shaken.

Teaching kids how to swim is hard enough as it is, but when you try to teach the same thing to a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV, people will automatically assume you’ve lost any semblance of sanity.
Undaunted, Jon Olsson took the proverbial book and threw it out the window at the recent Gumball 3000 run from London to Istanbul. On his way back to his home in Stockholm, Olsson encountered a few obstacles in the way for his prized supercar, none more daunting than a river crossing that required his Murcielago to brave the deep and dirty waters. With nothing in the way of losing all his marbles, Olsson decided that the best way home was going full steam ahead, which is exactly what he did with the Murcielago, driving it straight into the water for what seemed like a wet eternity.
Fortunately, it only lasted a few seconds and the Murcielago LP670-4 was back in dry land in no time. Even better, Olsson managed to make the 3,000-mile drive back to Stockholm with nothing less than clear roads.
We admire his cojones for taking his Murcielago out for a dip in the water, but we seriously advise anybody who’s thinking of doing the same to, well, not. The reward isn’t as great as the potential risk.
Just because Lamborghini has a new toy in the Aventador, it doesn’t mean that tuning firms are beginning to turn a blind eye on the Italian automaker’s other models.
One such aftermarket company is DMC, which is on tap to introduce their latest styling package for the Murcielago LP580 GT. The overall design make-up of the Murcielago includes fitting the Italian supercar with a full carbon fiber body kit that comes with an all-new carbon fiber front fascia and a new rear bumper on the exterior of the car. Inside the Murcielago, DMC continued with the carbon fiber treatment, outfitting it with the same material to go with new custom leather upholstery.
Not one to leave behind improvements on the performance department, DMC also gave the Murcielago a little engine tweaking with the inclusion of a new stainless steel sport exhaust system and a remapped ECU unit, boosting the output of the supercar’s 6.2-liter V12 engine to 600 horsepower and a 365 lb/ft of torque, a jump up of 28 ponies and 12 lb/ft of torque from the standard model.
It’s not the biggest performance upgrade we’ve seen for a Murcielago, but combined with all the carbon fiber goodies given to the exterior and interior of the car, the overall package looks mighty impressive on our end.

SR Auto Group gets its kicks from transforming luxury exotics into more aggressive and beastly machines like the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 ’Erebos’ and the Audi R8 V10 Project Valkyrie. Their newest project launched "with the idea of going all out with no restraints" and they used this philosophy to transform the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 under the ’Ballistic’ project.
The Murcielago ’Ballistic’ received its edgy styling from the Premier 4509 package that includes a new front bumper, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser. SR Auto Group then finished off the look with a matte black exterior finish and a new set of 20" PUR 2WO design wheels. The tuning firm isn’t about challenging the power outputs provided by Lamborghini so the ’Ballistic" utilizes the Murcielago’s 6.5L V12 engine cranking out 631 HP at 8000 rpm and 487 lb-ft at 6000 rpm.
"Adapting our minimalistic approach with an out of the park kit that redefines the look of Project Ballistic was not a easy task to accomplish. The Premiere 4509 kit was the perfect way to complete this task. A mix of carbon fiber flowing with the glimmering gloss black exterior was definitely a sight of beauty."
If we’ve said this once, we’ve said it a thousand times, but oh how we envy Jay Leno and his ability to bring some of the best vehicles into his garage. Then there’s the little thing called being able to drive these amazing vehicles that just completely sends us over the edge. In the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, Jean Shirt Man - aka Jay Leno - was blessed with the company of Andrew Romanowski, President of the Lamborghini Club of America, and a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 Super Veloce.
The Murcielago LP670 SV is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 engine that delivers a total of 670 HP. Thanks to a weight reduction of 220 lbs, the SV model sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 212 mph. The particular LP670 SV brought into the garage is one of only five SVs equipped with a six-speed gearbox. Yeah, and Leno got to drive it. Lucky SOB.
It’s not common place for brands in other industries collaborating with automakers to create a line of products that have been co-branded with their partners. You could even say that Ferrari has made this a lucrative form of business, especially with laptops and mobile phones in the form of their partnership with Acer.
Another Italian supercar maker that has dived into the computer business is Lamborghini. Over the years, the Raging Bull has collaborated with computer company Asus to build a set of laptop models that not only rivals the Ferrari/Acer partnership, but also gives Lambo aficionados another way to support their favorite automotive brand without having to buy their ridiculously expensive supercars.
Recently, the Lamborghini/Asus partnership revealed the latest fruit of their collaboration: the VX7 gaming laptop. Already in its seventh generation, the VX7 was designed using the Murcielago as its inspiration. The laptop features a clamshell lid with the iconic ’Toro’ logo; it’s got leather-lined palm-rests; heck, it even has a taillight-configuration on the back of the computer.
Apart from all the Lamborghini details on the laptop, its specs also give justice to its designation as a gaming laptop. It’s got a 2.0-GHz Intel Core processor with 16GB of RAM. It also has a Blu-Ray combo drive and an enormous storage space of 1.5 terrabytes that can be stored through a dual hard-drive configuration. The VX7 is available with a choice of two colors - Orange or Carbon Fiber - at a price tag befitting of Lamborghini’s status. That’s right, if you have a remote interest in this bad boy, you’re going to have to fork over €1,995, which is about $2,800 based on current exchange rates.
Nobody ever said Lamborghini products came cheap. Even if it’s just a laptop.
Somebody once told us that when you already have a good thing, it’s best to leave it the heck alone, especially if that ’good thing’ happens to be a matte purple wrapped Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce.
Then again, nobody said anything about making a good thing better. While we have always professed our undying love for supercars decked in matte wrapping, our jaws almost fell to the floor when we caught sight of this spectacular beaut.
Apparently, the owner of this Murcielago SuperVeloce decided that matte wrapping just wouldn’t be enough to highlight his glorious Italian bull of a supercar. So he decided to get rid of the matte and have his supercar wrapped in a purple chrome foil. And we’re not even paying that much attention to the set of ADV.1 Deep Concave ADv05 wheels the Murcielago is sitting on. We love the wheels too, by the way.
But the shining purple chrome look of this Murcielago is what really sets it apart from a lot of fancy-colored Lamborghinis we’ve seen in the past. In the words of Charlie Sheen, this Murcielago SuperVeloce is definitely WINNING!
US-based tuner Platinum Motorsport has done a remarkable job in their years as one of the finest American tuning company’s. And if there ever was doubt about the capabilities of these guys, then this two-and-half minute video, which they appropriately called ‘Epic’, will squash all that skepticism away faster than the time it takes for your jaws to drop on the floor.
The video features six vehicles that have all passed through the hands of Platinum Motorsport, including the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, the Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series, and the Bentley Continental Supersports. Through our eyes, these cars are some of the finest aftermarket works we’ve seen and catching all of them in one video taking a tour of the streets of LA together is just about the very reason why the word ‘epic’ was put in the dictionary in the first place.
