With the advent of EVs, we’ve seen loads of new companies come up with electric EVs. Companies like Hyperion and Estrema are some of them that come to mind. They’ve got pretty impressive products like the XP-1 and the Fulminea, which come with specs that will blow your mind. But, in this horde, fuel-powered supercars still stand apart and please the old-school folks who are yet to accept the EV-olution.

A decade-old Italian automaker called Mazzanti Automobili has come up with its third hypercar called the Evantra Pura. As clichéd as it sounds, the Italians sure know how to make pizzas, pasta, and supercars!

In case you were unaware, Mazzanti Automobili is a high-performance supercar producer based out of Italy. The company was first established in 2002 and specializes in building just a single nameplate - the Evantra. Over the years, Mazzanti has created a few variations on the Evantra, including the Evantra Millecavalli, a four-figure monster first introduced in 2016. The more recent follow-up to that outrageous twin-turbocharged speed machine is called the 771, and it was designed to slot between the Millecavalli and the base-model Evantra with a little extra under the hood, an update to the aero package, and a modernized interior.

The Mazzanti Evantra is an Italian supercar launched at the 2013 Top Marques Show in Monaco. The high-performance coupe was created by Mazzanti Automobili founder Luca Mazzanti and designer Zsolt Tarnok. Work on the mid-engined coupe began in 2008 and the first prototype was shown in 2011, two years before the production model saw the light of day. Output is officially limited to only five units per year.

Three years have passed since Mazzanti unleashed the Evantra and information about the supercar, including pricing and actual availability, is still scarce. But, even though we don’t know how many Evantras have been built as of 2016, we do know that the Italian company is still active, having showcased the supercar at every Top Marques event since the official debut. Come 2016 and Mazzanti has showcased a more extreme version of the Evantra.

Internally known as project EV-R, this new iteration goes by the name Evantra Millecavalli and Mazzanti describes it as "the most powerful street-legal hypercar ever built in Italy." Although many details are still under wraps, the company released the first official photos of the supercar at its world premiere at Salone Auto Torino. When Faralli & Mazzanti announced the first details on the Evantra back in 2012, it revealed that the supercar would make its world debut at the 2013 Top Marques Monaco. F&M held its promise and delivered the Evantra with great improvements, including a V-8 engine in place of the original 3.5 liter flat-six engine.

If you were wondering what "Evantra" stands for, Mazzanti explains that its name comes from the ancient Etruscan language and represents an object that’s unique, eternal and exclusive. It also was the name of the Goddess of immortality for the Etruscan people.

Compared to the six-cylinder version, the V-8 received a new rear wing and a series of inserts made in carbon fiber or brushed aluminum. For the interior, the company added a new roll cage made in chrome. As initially promised, the Evantra V8 will be sold in very limited qualities.

Teasers for Faralli & Mazzanti’s Mugello prototype had barely left the spotlight when the Italian company unveiled the production version of their other supercar: the Evantra. The Evantra was built in limited edition - only 5 examples per year - with the first deliveries made in mid-2012. Each unit produced was supervised personally by its creator, Mr. Luca Mazzanti. The Evantra was designed by Luca Mazzanti together with Zsolt Tarnok (F&M chief designer) and combines modern cues with classic elements in a perfectly balanced supercar. It also combines smooth surfaces with aggressive elements in the shape of the lights with modern LED lights. There are also precise and neat outlines in the connections of the air inlets and outlets around the car.

The Evantra is powered by a 3.5 liter flat six engine that delivers a total of 403 HP in its naturally aspirated version and 603 HP when equipped with a twin turbocharger. With a total weight of 2645 lbs, the car will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

The Evantra’s body was produced in two different steps. The first one is called Pro-Body which includes composite materials and the second body is called One-Body and is an entirely hand crafted, all aluminum body, which can be personalized by the client.

UPDATE 11/15/12: The wait to see the Faralli & Mazzanti Evantra now has a definite schedule after the automaker announced the debut of the supercar at the 2013 Top Marques Monaco next April. Circle the date, fellas, because it should be an epic debut for one eagerly anticipated niche supercar.

UPDATE 12/18/12: More renderings of the Mazzanti Evantra have been released, giving us another look at the Monaco-bound supercar. We gotta say, there’s a lot to like about the Evantra - and no, we’re not just talking about it’s exotic qualities.

Italy is home to many a supercar and the list is about to get longer with the introduction of yet another exotic. Italian coach builder, F&M by Mazzanti Cars, has released the first batch of teaser photos for their new supercar, called the Mugello.

If you’re scratching your head at the name "F&M," we’ll spare you the headache and tell you that they’ve been responsible for some pretty neat builds, including the Antas V8 and the Vulca V12.

Their latest work, the Mugello, will begin its build in January 2012 with the company only pegging about five units annually. At this point, F&M has not released any technical information surrounding the Mugello yet, so for now, we’ll have to settle for some educated guesses based on the teaser photos released.

It certainly doesn’t help that the teaser photos used the dark, silhouette effect to drum up attention. Having said that, the Mugello, which was designed by Luca Mazzanti and Zsolt Tarnok, looks to sport some serious LED lights action on the front and rear, as well as a central outlet that reminds us of the Lamborghini Aventador, a unique airscoop found on the roof, and a huge central exhaust that should give us a hint as to the type of performance the supercar will have.
