GMC

GMC has done wonders with its new models. The time has come where it finally frees itself from the clutches of the Fords, and the Rams, and the Chevys, and creates its own identity. Sounds too dramatic, right? Well, that’s because GMC is finally all set to claim its space. A truck company that played second fiddle to the Chevy Silverado has finally managed to put itself shoulder-to-shoulder with the competitors, and there seems to be no stopping. After the revamped and the reloaded models, GMC even went up a notch to introduce models like a Sierra 1500 CarbonPro Edition. To put this into perspective, carbon fiber is something that supercars and hypercars dress in. This is just one instance, but the company is looking the best it has until date and its future looks quite promising.

The company has introduced two new trims which are basically upgraded versions of the existing trims. One is the Denali Ultimate, and the other is the AT4X. Apart from this, there are a lot of tech upgrades as well, but the highlight of the lot is the introduction of the Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology. If you had only the Ford F-150, Ram 1500, and the Chevy Silverado shortlisted for your next truck purchase, well, skimping the 2022 Sierra will be a cardinal sin.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra came out with all guns blazing. It doesn’t offer a plethora of engine options like its American rivals, but it still has a strong and loyal fan base who swear by its reliability. No wonder the Tundra and the Tacoma have a high demand even in the pre-worshipped market. While the 2022 model’s highlight was the new hybrid engine, there’s one other thing that deserves attention – its composite bed. It is said to be more abuse-friendly, but is that true?

GMC Shows off the Hummer EV’s Watts to Freedom Mode To Celebrate Independence Day

The WTF mode that can make a 9,000-pound vehicle sprint to 60 mph from a standstill will make you go WTF!

The Hummer models were known for their brawny appearance and gas-guzzling nature. But, GMC revived the moniker last year as a clean, sober vehicle that doesn’t have a drinking problem anymore. This stark opposite nature is still a little tough to digest, but we’re more than happy to have the Hummer badge live on. After introducing it as a supertruck in 2020, the company brought out its SUV version, too.

The nameplate aside, the 2022 Hummer EV is filled to the brim when it comes to features and technology. There’s the Crab Walk mode, Extract mode, and the Super Cruise tech to name a few. Another exciting feature is the Watts To Freedom (WTF) which is essentially a Launch Control.

To commemorate Independence Day, GMC has released a video of the Hummer supertruck’s Watts To Freedom mode in action. To see a 9,000-pound beast sprint to 60 mph from rest in three seconds is scary and exciting. A perfect name for this mode – WTF!

GMC Syclone - The 90s' Performance Truck That We Need Today!

GMC Syclone - The 90s’ Performance Truck That We Need Today!

This pickup truck was quicker than the then 911 Turbo and the Corvette ZR-1

Pickup trucks were always bareboned and were meant to be used as work vehicles. We saw a lot of performance, off-road trucks now, but there weren’t a lot of such options back in the day. Many automakers gave this a shot and no matter how good they were, they never made it big. One of the most prominent performance trucks from back in the day is the GMC Syclone.

The Syclone hit the automotive scene in 1991 and took everyone by surprise. Not a lot of people could fathom a truck that could take on, or probably even take down some of the most beloved supercars from that era. With performance specs that are impressive even three decades later, the GMC Syclone is the truck that the world needs today.

GMC Hummer EV: What Should You Be Getting - The SUV or Pickup Truck?

GMC Hummer EV: What Should You Be Getting - The SUV or Pickup Truck?

The SUV loses out on the power output, range and performance specs, but benefits from more cabin and cargo space, and better dimensions and angles

GMC introduced the Hummer EV supertruck last year and has now followed it up with the Hummer EV SUV. At the onset, it seems like a pickup truck that comes with a roof welded on the bed to make it an SUV. However, there is a lot more than meets the eye. Unlike the Rivian truck and SUV twins, the Hummer EV SUV has been placed as an inferior offering. There is a difference in specs, power outputs, and other things that makes it look like the second fiddle to the EV truck. The pricing, however, is on par for the standard models and there is a difference only in the Launch Edition model.

What is the Cheapest GMC?

GMC’s cheapest offering is the mid-size pickup truck, Canyon. It has been around for ages and it’s still selling in decent volumes. It starts at $21,500. The best part about the GMC Canyon is the multitude of engine options on offer. Be it from a commercial point-of-view, or as your personal daily driver, GMC has got you covered in all the departments. Trucks, in general, have evolved in terms of driving dynamics, and ride and handling, but the Canyon still drives like an old truck. It won’t float your boat if you’re a driving enthusiast.

What is the Sportiest GMC?

There are many production vehicles to choose from that are sporty, but I’ll say the next-gen GMC Sierra Denali takes the cake. It comes with a host of features on the inside, looks great on the outside with the LED Daytime Running Lights, and V-8 engine options that are fast and powerful. The biggest one is a 6.2-liter, V-8 mill that makes 420 horses and 460 pound-feet of torque. You can opt for a carbon-fiber bed to give it a premium feel. Not to mention it features the famous MultiPro tailgate as well.

What is the Most Popular GMC?

The GMC Sierra seems to be the most popular model in the lineup. The company moved 224,554 examples of the Sierra in 2018. This includes all the variants together. Surprisingly, it is the top-of-the-line Denali trim that sells the most. It accounts for over 50 percent of the sales in the Sierra lineup.

What is the Most Expensive GMC?

The most expensive GMC is the Yukon Denali. It starts at $66,700. Equip it with the accessories that GMC offers and you will see the price touch $85,000. The Yukon Denali comes with a 6.2-liter, V-8 mill that churns out 420 horses and 460 pound-feet of torque. The SUV is as luxurious as one can ask for at this price point. When compared to the lower trims, the Denali has the suspension tuned better and the ride is comfortable overall. The only negatives in this SUV are the limited cargo space with all three rows of seats up and the price.

What is the Fastest GMC?

The GMC Sierra 1500 Denali is the fastest truck in the company’s portfolio. It is the smaller 4.3-liter, V-6 engine that makes it the fastest, and not the 6.2-liter-V-8 mill. The truck can sprint to 60 mph from a standstill in 7.3 seconds. The top speed is limited to 106 mph. As for the fuel economy, it delivers 22 miles per gallon on the highway and 16 mpg in the city.

Are GMC Cars Reliable?

GMCs are considered to be well-built and pretty safe for the occupants. But they are not as reliable as you would think. Repair Pal ranks them 21st out of 32 automakers. This rating is not a good sight if you are planning to buy a GMC vehicle to abuse it under hard conditions. But if you are not looking to go extreme with your vehicle, a GMC is not that hard to maintain. The annual repair is also slightly on the higher side, averaging $747. But, that will be for products like the Yukon and the Denali. For the likes of Canyon, the repair costs will be comparatively cheaper.
