You Have To See This Ultra-Rare BMW-Powered Ascari Ecosse That’s For Sale!
A rare 1997 Ascari Ecosse is up for auction at RM Sotheby’s. Based on the mid-engine Ascari FGT Concept that was unveiled at the 1995 British Motor Show, the Ecosse is arguably one of the rarest and least-known supercars from the 1990s. It’s currently listed at a fixed price of €165,000. That converts to around $200,000 based on current exchange rates.
Although the Essen Motor Show finished over a week ago, occasionally we find a few cars that slip through the cracks. Unusually we wouldn’t bother posting pics about new wheels on a car that has been out of production for over a decade, But this is different. There are less than ten Ascari Ecosse still out there, so spotting one is a rare sight.
So what makes the the Ecosse so special? It’s powered by a 300 hp 4.4 liter V8 or a 400 hp 4.7-liter both sourced from BMW. When equipped with the latter engine, the lightweight Ecosse can make the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 4.1 seconds and can hit a top speed of 200 mph. While this car may seem impressive, it was just the launching pad for Ascari’s superfast KZ1.
British Super car manufacturer Ascari Cars Ltd is concentrating its focus for 2007 on a high scoring performance in the UK and European GT3 racing series with its KZ-1R super car. Ascari is currently completing the latest three bespoke KZ-1R GT3 cars at its state of the art production facility in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The finished vehicles will head to Europe for testing sessions before the start of the FIA GT3 European Championship.
Banbury based supercar manufacturer has set its sights on a new race track by venturing into the world of slot car racing. The launch of the Ascari A10 and KZ1R slot car from NINCO, manufacturers of the ultimate 1:32 slot racing system is on its way this year.
From mid-2007 all slot car enthusiasts across the world lusting over an Ascari A10 or the KZ1R GT3 race car can add a 1:32 scale model to their collection for a fraction of the price of its road-going counterpart.

British Supercar manufacturer, Ascari has produced the answer to the Ferrari Enzo FXX, but for keeps! Whereas the Enzo FXX is not road legal, it was produced to be driven during track days only and costs just over £1 million (1.5m EUROS), the Ascari A10 is road legal so can be driven home and parked on your drive, to the envy of your neighbours for just £350,000 (522.000 EUROS).

Banbury based supercar manufacturer, Ascari, has topped a public vote to find the star car for the forthcoming Hollywood adaptation of the 70’s crime caper, the Persuaders.
Hosted by CAR magazine on behalf of the movie’s producers, Brass Hat Films, the vote asked the motoring public to select their supercar of choice from a list including Lamborghini, Ferrari and Aston Martin. Ascari, the manufacturer that makes the KZ1, is preparing another bomb on wheels. Powerd by a 600 bhp V8 engine, the A10 is expected to do more that 220 mph.
So far, a single yellow example has been completed and is being extensively tested before the regular production version is revealed in 2006. The KZ1 was originally conceived following on from the successes of Team Ascari. The idea was proposed for a road-going sports car based on racing technology. In the spring of 2000, that concept began to take shape in the form of the prototype KZ1. Now completed, the Ascari KZ1 has been transformed from a dream to a production reality.
