In the mid-2000s, Mercedes-Benz rarely scored above average in surveys by Consumer Reports and similar outlets and some of its models were declared unreliable in the mid-2010s. The company’s reliability ratings have gone up a bit in recent years though, with Mercedes-Benz usually placed above rivals like BMW, Audi, Porsche, and Infiniti. However, the brand’s vehicles falls behind cars from Lexus and Tesla. J.D. Power gave Mercedes-Benz a similar rating in 2018.
