Acura

Acura essentially serves as the performance and luxury arm of Honda. It is a stand-alone company in its own right, but the models that it offers are generally based upon the same architecture as models offered by Honda. To help create a difference between the two brands, Acura vehicles offer better performance and fairly luxurious interiors – two things that often push cars sporting the Acura badge toward the sportier end of their respective segments. Acura does offer some models and technological advances that aren’t found on Honda vehicles, a prime example of which is the Acura NSX and its twin-turbo, hybrid V-6.

Least Expensive Acura Model

Acura has a pretty full lineup that includes three sedans, two SUVs, and the NSX supercar. The Acura ILX is Acura’s least expensive model with a price tag in the $26,000 range before taxes, registration, and other fees. Acura actually corners the market with the ILX as it’s one of just a few compact luxury sedans that sits well below the $30,000 price point.

Sportiest Acura Model

As far as sportiness is concerned, the Acura NSX takes the cake and eats it too. But that’s a supercar, so that’s not really playing fair. If you’re looking for the sportiest car that isn’t the NSX, then look no further than the Acura TLX. It’s marketed as a “Performance Luxury Sedan,” and it features a rather sporty exterior compliment and as much as 290 horsepower from the optional V-6. It can even be had with Acura’s awesome SH-AWD all-wheel-drive system.

Most Popular Acura Model

In the heart and dreams of enthusiasts everywhere, the NSX would again take the cake in this category, but in reality, the most popular models in Acura’s lineup include the RDX and MDX. Priced at $37,600 and $44,300, respectively, both models can be had with all-wheel drive and, if you’re in need of three rows, you’ll find that the MDX fits the bill.

Most Expensive Acura Model

The most expensive family car that Acura offers is the RLX – it’s basically the S-Class of Acura’s, and its price tag approaches the $55,000 range. The Acura NSX, however, is by far the most expensive with a price tag of $157,500.

Are Acura Cars Reliable?

As the performance and luxury arm of Honda, it’s probably not surprising to you that Acura models are pretty reliable. According to Repair Pal, Acura’s overall reliability rating is 4.5 out of 5, which puts it in 9th place out of all 32 car brands. As a whole, Acura models are reported as having inexpensive repair costs and a low rate of severe repairs.
