Mat Watson and his team from ‘Carwow’ brought three hot budget hatches to the drag strip. The contenders were the Hyundai i20 N, the Ford Fiesta ST, and the Volkswagen Polo GTI. All of them make in the whereabouts of 200 horsepower. The fact that every car has an aspect where it shines the best and is better than its competitors makes up for an interesting race. Which hatch do you have your money on?

Volkswagen unveiled the eighth-generation Golf GTI and Golf R, at the 2021 Chicago Auto Show. The new GTI packs a lot of features and, in our words, a new era of hot hatches has arrived. The Golf GTI competes with a few popular options in the segment, like Honda Civic Type R and Hyundai Veloster N.
Battle Of The Midsize Pickup Trucks: Toyota Hilux Takes On the VW Amarok In a Drag Race
A drag race between two stock midsize pickup trucks is about as scientific as a drift competition with shopping carts. Pickup truck buyers are rarely interested in the performance aspect of these vehicles, but Carwow still gives us the answer to a question we never thought of asking – which is the quicker pickup truck. This time it’s the Toyota Hilux and Volkswagen Amarok that line up for a quarter-mile drag and despite the two vehicles being very similar on paper, the outcome is quite decisive.
Crazy Race: Lamborghini Urus vs Porsche Cayman GT4 vs Audi TTRS vs Golf R
It’s always interesting to see how different engine layouts compare to one another. It’s even more interesting when a high-performance SUV goes up against some of the best compact sports cars and a capable hot hatchback. This is exactly the case with this drag race from Carwow, where a Lamborghini Urus is being challenged by a Porsche Cayman GT4, Audi TT RS, and a Volkswagen Golf R.

Mat Watson and his team from ‘Carwow’ pit four very different vehicles against each other on the drag strip. The Time Is Near: Death Is Coming for Volkswagen’s Manual Transmission
It looks like the last hour has come for the manual transmission at Volkswagen. Since VW is basically on the road to electro-mobility and is saying goodbye to the combustion engine, it is also inadvertently saying goodbye to the manual transmission.

The IAA 2021 in Munich has opened eyes around the world as there were quite a lot of unique cars, especially EVs. This compact crossover-type concept looks sick with unique design language both in exterior and interior and has quite a few interesting facts about it. Here’s a quick review as to what has been disclosed by Volkswagen in simpler words.

2021 Volkswagen GTI BBS Concept
The Volkswagen Golf GTI is a hot hatch and has been around the block for quite some time now. Although the company is gearing up for the 2022 Golf GTI, it has decided to look back and pay homage to the yesteryear Golf model – the 1984 GTI, to be specific – by fusing it with the latest generation. Volkswagen has teamed up with Philadelphia-based VW enthusiast Jamie Orr and created a concept that combines the best of the present and the past.
Volkswagen noted that the inspiration for this concept was an enthusiast-built Mk2 version of the GTI, which supplanted the only U.S.-built generation of the GTI in 1984. The goal was to highlight what has made the GTI special through the years.
The car retains the same stock drivetrain and as it is the most powerful Golf GTI ever. Even the interior was left as it is. For the retro touches on the exterior, Orr and his team decided to swap the wheels with a set of 19-inch BBS Super RS shoes that feature the iconic BBS waffle and hex pattern. They were shod in Delinte 235/35 D7 rubber.
The highlight, however, was the BBS retro red and black vintage livery with pinstriping running from all across the body. The car was even lowered, courtesy of H&R coilovers. The Borla exhaust from the Mk8 was retained as Orr was happy with it. Overall, this is a sweet build that mixes the retro touches on the new Golf GTI.
Triple Bogey! Watch A Trio of VW Golfs Take On Each Other For An Ego Boost
The folks at Carwow pit a Volkswagen triplet for a series of drag races. Three versions of the Golf – the GTI, the GTI Clubsport, and the GTD – faced each other on the drag strip. They all come with the same engine, same transmission, and same drive layout. However, different diet and power outputs are what makes this race interesting. Which Golf do you think will make a par, a birdie, and an eagle?
