When Lamborghini launched the special edition Aventador Ultimae LP 780-4, we knew the end of an era was coming. After a decade on the market, the Aventador is finally going to be retired. Previous rumors suggested that it will be the last Lamborghini model to feature a V-12 engine, but it looks that Lamborghini is not ready just yet to give up on the V-12.

A successor for the Aventador is right around the corner, and despite many rumors, it will continue offering a V-12 engine- it’s a hybridized engine, that’s true, but still a V-12.

Back in July this year, Lamborghini debuted the LP780 Ultimae. Well, the name gives it away, doesn’t it? The Lamborghini Ultimae is apparently the ultimate expression of the Aventador line and blends elements from the Aventador S as well as the Aventador SVJ.

It is the last Lamborghini to feature a naturally aspirated V-12 engine. However, while that car marks the end of the line for the glorious V-12, sort of, the folks at Santa Agata Bolognese say that the V-12 is destined to live on for some more time.

Lamborghini took the whole world by surprise when it announced that the ‘Countach’ nameplate is making a comeback three decades after it was sent into oblivion. Although nothing much was revealed other than a silhouette of the wedge-shaped car, the Italian automaker decided to continue hyping the car by revealing a few more teaser pictures within a couple of days of the first announcement. Lamborghini took to Instagram to upload three more images of the upcoming Countach that suggest that it could arrive sooner than expected. Are you as pumped up about it as we are?

Sit down, if you are standing up, and take a deep breath because one of the most renowned cars of all time is supposedly getting a revival; and no, this is not a joke. A new Lamborghini Countach is en route, and the Italian automaker has officially confirmed it.

The Countach turns 50 this year, and it was only last week that we brought you a story on a designer re-imagining a Neo-Retro Lamborghini Countach. The rendering featured the sleek design aesthetic of early iterations of the Supercar, balanced with hints of modernity and performance.

Do you remember the Estoque? Yes, that evocative sedan that Lambo showed us more than a decade ago. The concept car broke cover at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. This, of course, was pre-Aventador, back when Lamborghini was just trying to garner market reaction to the idea of a four-door sedan.

As it turns out, Lamborghini might have a surprise for us in the store. Hushed talks on the internet report that the automaker is prepping to launch a Sian-based hypercar to pay homage to the 50th anniversary of the Countach. But, nothing is official at this moment, so take it with a pinch of salt.

With a decade on the market and God knows how many special editions and versions, the Lamborghini Aventador will soon be sent into the history books. That, however, won’t happen until Lamborghini comes up with a hybrid powertrain that will allow natural aspiration to live on for the company’s V-12 without conflicting with the ever-stricter emission regulations.

Lamborghini Urus test mules have been spotted recently doing some sort of pre-production testing on public roads and there are a lot of voices saying Sant’Agata Bolognese is gearing up for the unveil of the so-called Urus Evo. Here’s what we know about it.

Just like every other industry, the automotive industry follows certain trends. This means, that for one reason or another, car manufacturers need to adapt to different scenarios. In more recent times, this involves a transition to more efficient powertrains. Even AMG announced that it is moving away from V-8 engines in favor of turbo-fours and hybrid technology. With this in mind, Lamborghini recently announced their future plans involving two new V-12 models.

Lamborghini’s first contact with electrification goes back to 2014, when the Italian firm unveiled the Asterion, a hybrid concept car. Come 2021 and Lamborghini is offering a production hybrid supercar, the Sian FKP 37. Lamborghini has yet to develop an all-electric concept car, but it did unveil such a concept, called the Terzo Millennio, in 2017. A production EV is probably still a few years away, but if it looks like the E_X virtual concept shown here, we’re definitely excited to see what Lambo’s electric future holds.

The Lamborghini Huracan is already six years old as of 2020, but it’s not going away anytime soon. Just like its predecessor, the Gallardo, the Huracan could remain in production for up to 10 years. But the really good news is that Lambo is about to unveil yet another version of its entry-level supercar. And not just a slightly beefed-up Huracan, but a track-prepped model that could be greater than the already cool Performante. According to a teaser released by the brand, the new Huracan model will be unveiled on November 18. But what could it be?

Lamborghini is, by and large, the inventor of the modern supercar and, over the years, the subjects of some of our most-loved posters have rolled out of Sant’Agata Bolognese. However, the world is changing and the mid-engined V-12 supercar, the thing Lamborghini knows how to do best, might be on its last legs which is why the Italians are celebrating it with yet another special car. It’s basically similar to the Essenza SCV12 although it is lacking in one key area: there’s no roof over your head.

For a long while now, Lamborghini has been pretty happy with a two-car lineup. We had the Gallardo and Murcielago pair until around a decade ago, and now the Italians are relying on the Huracan and Aventador. But things are started to change as Lamborghini introduced a third model in 2019. It’s called the Sian FKP 37, and it’s also the company’s first hybrid. Come July 8, only two days from now, and Lambo will launch a new model. We don’t know what it is for now, but we have a couple of teasers to do the guessing game.

Lamborghini loves to churn out as many derivatives out of its exotic-looking supercars and in a move we honestly didn’t see coming, the Sian FKP37 will return to the limelight as a roadster.

A recent report talks about a Sian Roadster that Lamborghini is currently working on, but other details are pretty much nonexistent.

Lamborghini’s plant in Sant’Agata has been at idle since March 13, when the COVID-19 outbreak put a temporary end to production. It originally planned to resume operations March 25, but that had to be prolonged, with the company now saying production will restart on May 4th. That announcement came via a general press release that just so happened to hide a little piece of information, one that says Lamborghini is planning to host an online world premiere of a new car on May 7th. The company stopped short of naming that model or disclosing any other information, but we already have a damn good idea of what’s coming.

Lamborghini has slowly been dipping its toes in the ocean that is electrification, but so far, it has yet to go beyond knee-deep. The 2017 Terzo Millennio Concept car previewed Lambo’s future electrification technology, and the new Sian FKP 37 is only a hybrid because Lamborghini was able to develop a small supercapacitor that made hybridization possible without compromising the traditional Lamborghini driving experience. However, this technology is far from ready to be adopted into Lamborghini’s lineup full time, at least not to the extent that the company can create full-fledged series-production hybrid cars. So, Lamborghini needs to rewrite the book on electrification and hybridization – here’s how it plans to do it.

After Lamborghini’s chief technical officer Maurizio Reggiani was adamant in suggesting that the Huracan has already matured and reached its peak - “that badge is finished” were his words, by the way, we were expecting rumors about the replacing model. However, a mysterious set of spyshots is bringing us back on the topic of a lighter, more powerful version of the Huracan slated to make a debut in the following months.

We know Lamborghini likes to pull off anniversary editions as well as farewell editions for its cars, but if the recent rumors are true, this could be, in fact, a high-powered Huracan to rule them all, one that would sit above both the Evo and the Performante. In fact, it could be called Huracan Evo Performante, although we’re taking that with a pinch of salt for the time being. That said, did Sant’Agata Bolognese change its mind? Is a Superleggera-style Huracan back in the cards?

The Lamborghini Urus Performante has taken up residence in the rumor mill for a few months now. Lamborghini’s chief technical officer, Maurizio Reggiani, has now brought life back to the Urus Performante, and it appears that the high-spec version of the Urus SUV will likely become a reality at some point soon. Granted, Reggiani didn’t explicitly say that the Urus Performante is coming. But he also didn’t say that it wasn’t.

Whether or not it ends up happening will depend entirely on Lamborghini. So in the absence of a clear direction on Lamborghini’s part, we’re taking it upon ourselves to talk about the veracity of these rumors and how it’s going to affect Lamborghini’s booming Urus SUV business moving forward.

In order to even begin understanding what to expect from the upcoming track-only Aventador, we must first look at Lamborghini’s supercar roster from two standpoints: one of them relates to Sant’Agata Bolognese’s road-going cars over the years, while the other has to do with its race cars currently involved in various motorsport competitions around the world.

It’s no secret that Lamborghini has its eyes set on adding another model to its current lineup. That long-rumored model, a 2+2 grand tourer that takes inspiration from the Estoque Concept from 2008, is reportedly close to receiving the green light from Lamborghini executives.

Specific details haven’t been revealed, but there’s growing buzz that the model will arrive by 2025. More importantly, it could become the first-ever all-electric vehicle to wear a Lamborghini badge. If this model gets the nod, it would complete Lamborghini’s long-game plan of offering a four-model lineup that also includes the Aventador, Huracan, and Urus SUV. A four-door Lamborghini model also has the potential to alter the current electric saloon landscape in the auto industry. That’s a scenario I can’t wait to see unfold in the coming years.

The Lamborghini Sian took us by surprise with a futuristic design spiced up by Countach-inspired features and an innovative hybrid drivetrain. And needless to say, this supercar looks extremely cool and I’m hoping it previews a new design language for the Italian brand. Sadly, it seems that it might not be the case, at least not for the next-generation Aventador (or whatever name it will have). That’s the word from Lambo design boss Mitja Borkert, who made a point to stress that the Sian won’t inspired the supercar that will replace the Aventador.
