Eddie van Halen Once Owned The Coolest Lamborghini Miura In The World
The Lamborghini Miura was Lamborghini’s brash, unlawful, in-your-face statement that Ferrari is no longer cool. As the first modern supercar and the first mid-engined production car, the Miura set the tone for everything that came after it. Similarly, Californian hard rock and heavy metal group Van Halen revolutionized the genre with its brash, unlawful, in-your-face debut album that came out in 1978. It signaled the change of the guards as the new boys walked in with steps as loud as Eddie Van Halen’s guitar licks. A few years later, these two worlds collided.
Craziest Thing This Week: The Pope Blesses a Lamborghini Huracan
Pope Francis is no stranger to receiving gifts. That comes with the territory of being the leader of the Catholic church and arguably one of the most powerful men in the world. But the famously frugal pontiff isn’t one who enjoys the lavish side of life so when he recently took possession of a one-off Lamborghini Huracan, a gift from the Italian automaker itself, the pope did what the pope usually does: he donated it away.
It’s a bitter blow for papal paparazzi who were hoping to see the pope roar around the cobbled streets of Rome, aviator sunglasses in tow. But the pope’s preference for the simple things in life isn’t anything new. This is a man who traditionally opts to get driven around in Fiats and Fords when he’s on the road so getting inside a Lamborghini is a non-starter to begin with. So instead of taking ownership of the one-off Huracan, the pope decided to receive it from Lamborghini out of courtesy, sign the hood, and give it to RM Sotheby’s, which will then auction the supercar with the proceeds going to three of the holy father’s favorite charities. Considering how much value is placed on items that carry the pope’s signature, expect this one-off Lamborghini Huracan to fetch way more than it’s usual price of $200,000.

Could A Biopic Of Ferruccio Lamborghini Be In The Cards?
Lamborghini founder Ferruccio Lamborghini was known to have lived a very interesting life, and like most famous people with a rich life story to tell, Lamborghini’s life is now being turned into a movie. Entertainment site Variety is reporting that Ambi Media Group, the same company that optioned the movie rights to the “Ferruccio Lamborghini La story official” (the official story) is moving ahead with the movie adaptation of the book written by Tonino Lamborghini, Ferruccio’s own son.
In addition to the film’s development pushing through, Ambi has also reportedly signed Antonio Banderas to play the role of the Lamborghini founder and Alec Baldwin to play the role of none other than Enzo Ferrari. The backbone of the film’s production team has also been put in place. Michael Radford (The Postman and The Merchant of Venice) will take the helm as the movie’s director while Bobby Moresco (Million Dollar Baby, and Crash) will write the adapted script from the Lamborghini biopic. No timetable has been set for the movie’s release, but Ambi Distribution, the company’s sales arm, is expected to offer the project to movie studios at the Cannes Film Festival next month. Interestingly, the Ambi Media Group is also behind the movie Finding Steve McQueen starring Travis Fimmel, Rachel Taylor, Forest Whitaker, and William Fitchner.

Even though the movie won’t actually be coming out for a while, Kung Fury has already attracted quite a lot of attention (over 5 million views!) for a Kickstarter-funded Swedish film from a director that few people have heard of. But the sheer force of the film’s ’80s nostalgia is powerful, and instrumental in this is the Lamborghini Countach shown in the music video for True Survivor, which has a tie-in with the movie. The song is performed by David Hasselhoff, perhaps looking even more ’80s than when he did Knight Rider, if that’s possible. The Countach was such an icon of the ’80s that Kung Fury director David Sandberg has decided to tell us a bit about the car in the video.
The bad news first: this is actually a replica car, albeit a painstakingly accurate (in most respects) one. The car was built by two men, simply identified as Daniel and Fredrik, and it took them 10 years to complete. The frame was built to the same specifications as the original, and the body comes from Mirage, a replica kit-car company in the UK that has made some of the better replica bodies you’ll ever see. This one is Mirage’s specialty, the LP 5000 Quattrovalvole.

Of all the Lamborghinis ever built, a case can be made that the Diablo holds a unique place in the heart of the company and its fans.
Not only did it carry a name that lived up to its diabolical nature, but it also holds the distinction of being the only Lamborghini that was designed under the watch of Chrysler. We’re not going to dive into all those details now, but it’s certainly interesting to remember a day when the Raging Bull was owned by the Pentastar.
It was at that time when the Diablo was created as the successor to arguably one of the most popular Lamborghini models ever, the Countach. Talk about having huge shoes to fill.
Fast forward to this year and the Diablo is now treated with reverence and respect, especially by true car enthusiasts who appreciate everything the Diablo stands for.
Recently, Jay Leno got his hands on a Lamborghini Diablo owned by a buddy of his, Franco Barbuscia. He’s the owner of Franco’s European Sports Cars in Los Angeles and, as Leno claims, is one of a few men in this world who probably knows more about Lamborghinis than the car itself.
The two, together with Barbuscia’s son Damiano, spend 15 minutes talking shop about the Diablo, dissecting it from every conceivable detail and reveling on its place in history among Lamborghini models.
It’s an interesting to hear these guys share their combined knowledge about the cars and the iconic Italian company that built them. And besides, Leno gets to drive a Diablo. What’s not to like?
2014 has started "in style" for Justin Bieber; he’s having problems with his neighbors and he’s almost been arrested for cocaine possession, and now the pop star is into even more trouble.
Police officers in Miami confirmed that the 19-year-old singer was arrested for drag racing. According to the police report, Bieber was racing a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo (image above) around 4:09 this morning against a red Ferrari. Both drivers were arrested and the two cars were towed.
That’s not where the fun stops. Bieber also failed a field sobriety test, so he was hauled off to the Miami-Dade County jail for a breathalyzer test. We have to remind you that Bieber is only 19 years old — 21 is the legal drinking age in Florida — and the test must come back with a blood-alcohol content level of less than 0.02 percent, or he can face a six-month license suspension. For the drag-racing offense, he can receive a jail sentence of up to six months, a fine of $500 to $1,000, and a one-year license suspension.
Of course, we don’t any judge to throw the book at "The Bieb," as Bieber’s lawyers will likely get him off with just a fine and a license suspension. But, do you think this will stop him for making the same mistake again? We think not!
At least we can all get a good look at his rather awkward happiness in his mugshot (above).

Being a bit of a sneakerhead myself, I can appreciate collaborations between the kicks industry and the auto industry. Remember a few years ago when Nike released a special-edition Kobe Bryant sneaker in collaboration with Aston Martin?
Not to brag, but yes, I have that in my collection.
In any case, the recent LeBron 11/11 Experience held in Miami for LeBron James’ 11th signature sneaker with Nike had a pretty interesting guest during the event: a unique Lamborghini Aventador Roadster that was worked on by auto designer Rich B. Caliente in partnership with Toys for Boys Miami and Lou La Vie.
The special wrap Caliente used on the Aventador was inspired by the first signature release of the LeBron XI, called "King’s Pride." If you know the sneaker game, you might also recognize the South Beach-styled design from the Lebron X Low Championship Pack Edition.
Either way, there aren’t a lot of Lamborghini Aventadors in this world that looks as unique and eye-catching as this one. Kind of makes you wonder why somebody would take off that wrap once the event is offer. It looks awesome on the Aventador and more importantly, fits right into the laid back yet flash lifestyle Miami is known for.

We are all for customization to make your car fit your personality, even on one as bad-ass as the Lamborghini Aventador. But Chris Brown’s decision to make his Lambo look like one expensive Nike Foamposite Camo shoe has us scratching our heads a little.
You have to admit that in the past few months we have seen all kind of crazy custom work, but this is far and away craziest yet! Sometimes people just get blinded by money and do crazy things when they are bored, like make their $387,000 car look like a shoe. Not that we are massive Aventador fanboys, but still that thing is hideous!
Despite the horrible camo job, this supercar is still a hoot to drive, thanks to its 6.5-liter V-12 engine that pumps out an astonishing 700 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque. The Aventador can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and goes up to a top speed of 217 mph.
Let us know if you agree or disagree with our opinion of this paintjob or if you love it in the comments.
First Lindsay Lohan dominated the TopSpeed pages and now The Bieb-man himself, Justin Bieber, is set to tackle our pages. This time around, however, he wasn’t driving like an ass to get away from paparazzi; nope, this time he was driving like an ass simply because… he enjoys driving like an ass – at least that’s what we can make of it.
Over in the United Arab Emirates, even Justin Bieber can’t weasel his way into renting a car because he is just shy of the minimum age requirement. So, what does a millionaire pop sensation teeny bopper do in this instance? Well, borrow an Aventador from a “friend,” of course.
But, that’s not what gets him on our front page. What gets him here is the fact that he was caught breaking driving laws in Dubai via six different traffic cameras. According to reports, the teen idol was driving excessively fast and when the recently supercar’d out Dubai police department tried to stop him, he simply kept on going.
The report of the police trying to pull The Bieb over and him failing to yield leaves a massive hole in the story that has yet to be filled. We still don’t know why he was driving so fast and we are really wondering why in the world he didn’t pull over when the police attempted to stop him. There are reports that he was late to a few shows in the area, so he may have been speeding to get to those, but we highly doubt he would drive himself to his shows.
We’re sure that more details will emerge as time goes on, so stay tuned for more.

Rapper extraordinaire Missy Elliot has had her eye on a Lamborghini Aventador for quite some time and last year, she made the leap and purchased a matte white version of the Italian supercar at an Illinois car dealership.
The problem is, it’s been at least six months and Missy Elliot has yet to get her hands on the Aventador. So she did what anybody would do in her position: she filed a lawsuit against Fox Valley Motor Cars.
According to the lawsuit that was first reported by TMZ, Missy Elliot made a down payment of $30,000 in cash, as well as ponied up her 2005 Bentley that was valued at $85,000. As part of the agreement, the dealership would then ship her $376,000 Aventador at this point of the year. The dealership is now not holding up their end of the bargain because the car’s market value has increased and thus, would cost more than the rapper initially thought.
Missy Elliot’s calling foul and has now turned to the legal system to get her Aventador. On top of that, she’s suing the dealership for breach of contract, a move that shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who believes they got shafted by somebody after an agreement was already in place.
For somebody who earns as much money as Missy Elliott, you would think that something like this would be settled before it got leaked to the press. But hey, sometimes you have to stand your ground, especially if somebody’s trying to pull a fast one on you, and let them work out their own problems. Not good publicity, Fox. Not good at all.
In what can only be described as a scene out of Mission Impossible, Guy Fieri’s 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo was stolen in May of last year by an extremely brave and stealthy burglar who scaled the roof of the showroom the celebrity chef’s Lamborghini was being stored in, before rappelling down, unlocking the garage door and driving off with unquestionably one of Fieri’s most prized possessions.
And almost exactly one year to the day since the theft, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and Mill Valley Police Department recently recovered the vehicle in the most unlikely of places. It was rumored that the robber may have sold off the car, but no, it actually turned up in a storage container in Point Richmond, California owned by a 17-year-old male.
The same teenager was recently brought to attention after firing at an occupied pickup truck from his blacked-out motorcycle. Fortunately, no one n that event was injured, but this goes to show that the suspect has clearly been in the criminal world for some time, as it takes some nerve to fire on innocent civilians. Actually it doesn’t only take nerve; it also takes extreme levels of stupidity.
Either way, the teen is likely to be charged for the theft of the supercar as well as the shooting in the coming days and we’ll be very surprised if he escapes substantial jail time.
Rumors circle the internet like vultures do a carcass, but sometimes these rumors are so funny, they are picked up by many in an attempt to have a good laugh in the middle of a long work day. The latest knee-slapper is that former US president, Gerge W. Bush, has gone out and purchased himself a brand new Lamborghini Aventador at a Houston dealership. Yes, it sounds ridiculous, but stranger things have happened.
This news comes from a Luxury4Play forum member who was told by a principle of a Lamborghini dealership in Houston that the former president rode off in a shiny black Aventador. This tidbit of information got so much attention that the Director of Communications from the Bush’s office emailed the forum politely asking them to correct the issue. Apparently, media outlets everywhere were calling the office in an attempt to confirm the purchase. Who says automotive websites don’t carry clout?

Mike Sorentino, better known in mainstream America as "The Situation," shot to fame with his role in the hit reality show Jersey Shore, so with a fattened bank account, Sorentino decided to buy himself a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. That’s a very nice car, no doubt about that, but what really caught our attention wasn’t so much the supercar itself but the personalized plate the supercar had.
The plate read three letters that pretty much describes Sorentino’s mantra: GTL.
If you’re not familiar with what that means, GTL is an acronym for "Gym, Tan, Laundry", which pretty much tells you where this man’s priorities lie.
We’re not sure what that message will read to today’s youth, but Sorentino has every right to put whatever he wants on his car. Lord knows, he earned it - for better or worse - and if he wants to display his mantra for all the world to see, then he’s entitled to that.
But knowing the kind of reputation he has, the ’GTL’ plate on a Gallardo Spyder just looks, for lack of a better term, out of whack. Kind of like The Situation himself.
It may not be a $2 million Bugatti Veyron or an $8 million Maybach Excelero, but Birdman has just dropped another boatload of cash on yet another supercar. Sources over at MediaTakeOut have reported that Birdman just spent $755,000 on a brand new Lamborghini Aventador. For anyone not good with numbers, that almost double the price of the usual asking price. We can only imagine the bells and whistles - more accurately, the "hoes and bitches" - that come along with the added benjamins.
And as it turns out, Birdman’s new Aventador will be delivered to him in December, right before Christmas. A 700 HP, carbon fiber supercar? Yeah, he’s pretty generous with himself, isn’t he?
As a reminder, the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is powered by a 700 HP 6.5L V12 engine. It is the first all-new Lamborghini developed engine since the Countach and is be able to get the vehicle from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds while blasting off a top speed of 217 mph. With a total weight of 1,575 kilograms (3,472 lb) it will deliver a power to weight ratio of 2.25 Kg/hp.
In the Philippines, "Bahala na si Batman" - translated, it means: "Leave it to Batman" - is a popular phrase people say when they’re in a conundrum. The whole premise of that quote is that whatever pickle we find ourselves in, Batman always has a solution.
What we found out earlier today unfortunately shattered that myth because even the Caped Crusader has no answer when it comes to changing a flat tire on his Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder.
The whole escapade happened in Maryland earlier this week when the Howard county Police department responded to a 911 call emanating from Route 29, north of Washington, D.C. The call, which came from a passing motorist, said: "There is a disabled motorist southbound on 29. He’s in the left lane, he’s in like a Lamborghini. He is dressed in a Batman costume and he is hanging out halfway in the roadway."
Knowing that people could still be on their Halloween hangover, the responding officers thought the call was nothing more than a prank. Then they got to the scene and saw the Lamborghini. And then they saw Batman.
As it turned out, the Dark Knight was on his way to a Washington hospital for an appearance when he blew out one of the tires in his Gallardo Spyder. After a short while, the Gallardo was eventually towed away and Batman was picked up by one of his buddies - we suspect it was Alfred - to drop him off at his appearance.
But that wasn’t before a Howard County officer took a posterity photo with Batman, probably to show his kids that at one point in his life, he was the one that came to the Caped Crusader’s aid.
Jon Olsson has the kind of problems that we can only dream of having. The professional skier and supercar aficionado is having trouble choosing what kind of car he’s going to use for his winter travels this season. Apparently, he ordered a Lamborghini Aventador for this purpose, except that the supercar has yet to be delivered to him.
So instead of twiddling his thumbs while waiting by the window, Olsson went out to buy a"temporary" alternative: a Lamborghini Gallardo LP540 decked in a sick camouflage finish with a ski box on top. Apparently, having one such Lamborghini Murcielago SV in his garage, as well as a Nissan R35 GT-R, wasn’t enough for him.
Olsson worked together with German tuner, DMC, to create his perfect temporary Lambo. They reconfigured the front end with an extra GT3 lip, then went on to add a new rear-deck lid, new LED lights, a new bumper, and a new rear diffuser. Apparently, Olsson also asked DMC to create an SV wing like the one from his original LP670.
And just in case you’ve forgotten about the Gallardo’s credentials, it’s worth pointing out that it still packs a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 560 horsepower. It’s not a Murcielago SV or an Aventador, but it’s still ’good enough’ for Olsson to use on his winter travels.
Because he is Jon Olsson and he’s got more money in his socks than we have in our bank accounts, he can ill afford to splurge on one Lamborghini while waiting for another one to be delivered to him.
Hit the jump to watch the Skibox test for Jon Olsson’s temporary play thing.
Who’s the rich guy that always gets the girl, has the best toys, and drives some of the coolest supercars, all while saving the world from evil? If we would’ve asked this question last year then many would say Tony Stark/Ironman, but the spotlight has been refocused on the caped crusader, Bruce Wayne/Batman. In Dark Knight, Batman sped around Gotham City in a Lamborghini Murcielago, but in the followup film, The Dark Knight Rises, Bruce has moved up in the world, driving around in the new Lamborghini Aventador. These images of the Aventador’s breakthrough in film were taken outside of an office building where VW Vortex forum member, VadGTI, was working.
Whether the Aventador will come with the usual array of toys found on the Batmobile, is still unknown; the Lamborghini supercar may just be a trophy in Bruce Wayne’s garage. If it does make its debut as Batman’s latest ride, expect plenty of exterior modifications, but the same throaty 6.5-liter V12 engine pushing out 700 HP 8,250 rpm and 509 lb-ft at 5,500 rpm. Catwoman’s motorcycle will have to do better than the Aventador’s top speed of 217 mph.
Let’s just hope that it doesn’t suffer the same fate as that of the Murcielago LP640 - it crashed heavily in one scene - in the Dark Knight.
Nobody cares if Nicole Scherziner’s last name is hard to spell or pronounce; the former lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls is still one of the most beautiful people on the planet.
She’s so hot, in fact, that when she poses with a Lamborghini Diablo, it takes us a moment before we can leave her gaze to notice the iconic Lamborghini supercar.
In addition to once being the headline of the Pussycat Dolls, Scherzinger has also made a name for herself as the winner of the tenth season of Dancing With The Stars. Oh and she’s also the hot girlfriend of no less than McLaren F1 driver and former Driver’s Champion, Lewis Hamilton.
There’s no question that the Hawaiian-born Filipino-American has the whole package to make millions drool. But for us that love our cars, seeing this goddess of a woman flirting on a Lamborghini Diablo is the stuff that fantasies are made of.
Meow, indeed!

In the past few years, supercars have been all the rage in blockbuster movies, having appeared in a growing number of them that involve superheroes. Iron Man began that trend when Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., was seen riding the Audi R8 a few years back. Since then, a lot of high-budget summer movies have taken to exotics to serve as the protagonist’s main ride, including the Audi R8 Spyder in Iron Man 2, the Ferrari 458 Italia in the about-to-be-released Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 in The Dark Knight.
We bring this up because, apparently, the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, will feature none other than the Lamborghini Aventador as Bruce Wayne’s new set of wheels.
A couple of photos were even snapped by a forum member of Luxury4play showing the Lamborghini supercar in full movie dress up, including plates that say "Gotham" to go with a slightly different, yet subtle, silver finish.
It’s unlikely that this Aventador is going to be the new Batmobile for the movie because it doesn’t have all the trinkets and gizmos that are mandatory for Batman’s crime-fighting ride. Chalk the Aventador up as the latest in Bruce Wayne’s growing auto garage. Let’s just hope that it doesn’t suffer the same fate as that of the Murcielago LP640 - it crashed heavily in one scene - in the Dark Knight.
Teaching kids how to swim is hard enough as it is, but when you try to teach the same thing to a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV, people will automatically assume you’ve lost any semblance of sanity.
Undaunted, Jon Olsson took the proverbial book and threw it out the window at the recent Gumball 3000 run from London to Istanbul. On his way back to his home in Stockholm, Olsson encountered a few obstacles in the way for his prized supercar, none more daunting than a river crossing that required his Murcielago to brave the deep and dirty waters. With nothing in the way of losing all his marbles, Olsson decided that the best way home was going full steam ahead, which is exactly what he did with the Murcielago, driving it straight into the water for what seemed like a wet eternity.
Fortunately, it only lasted a few seconds and the Murcielago LP670-4 was back in dry land in no time. Even better, Olsson managed to make the 3,000-mile drive back to Stockholm with nothing less than clear roads.
We admire his cojones for taking his Murcielago out for a dip in the water, but we seriously advise anybody who’s thinking of doing the same to, well, not. The reward isn’t as great as the potential risk.
Christmas is a time when spending time with one’s family and enjoying the festivities is of the utmost importance. However, let’s be honest, getting gifts ranks really high as well. But why wait and see if your loved ones are going to get you that one gift you are just dying to receive? Why not just buy it yourself? That’s what Miss Tila, aka Tila Tequila, did when she decided to crack open her bank account and splurge on a new Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560. Surprisingly, the raging bull is sporting a pretty Sky Blue. Our money would have definitely been on pink.
The color may be questionable, but the choice of car is undeniably top notch. After all the Gallardo LP560-4 is powered by the a 5.2 liter V10 engine with an output of 560 HP at 8000 rpm. This power will get the little model/singer/rapper/tv personality straight to 60mph in just 3.7 seconds.
They say you can tell a lot about a person by taking a look at their car. We guess it’s safe to say that Miss Tila would be beautiful, fast, and willing to be ridden hard.
It’s becoming increasingly apparent that 50 Cent is a true car fan and that isn’t any more obvious than in the fact that almost all of his videos feature some very cool rides. In Mann’s latest video featuring 50 Cent, "Buzzin", the rapper has chosen a beautiful Lamborghini Murcielago tuned by Platinum Motorsport. Yeah, these are the same guys that hooked up theRolls Royce Ghost, the BMW 650i Convertible, and the Dodge Challenger.
In this video, you will also notice a few other supercars in the wings. And if the wicked sweet rides aren’t enough to dazzle your sense, then maybe the half-naked chicks will prove to be a bit more entertaining.
We do have one question though; what’s selling 50 Cent’s music? Is it the cars, the girls, or the actually music itself? We want to believe that the answer is a combination of all three, but something tells us we are being a bit too kind. But, hey, at least the guy knows a good car, and a hot girl, when he sees one.
