Land Rover just revealed the all-new Rang Rover with a new design that’s being coined as evolutionary, new more powerful engines, and luxury that some are saying is on par with that of Rolls-Royce and Bentley. That aside, the new Range Rover will launch in the U.S. with the option of two different engine choices – one hybridized and one BMW sourced. Looking ahead of a couple of years, you’ll find a Range Rover PHEV but beyond this Range Rover could do something very unexpected and it revolves around the first-ever electric Range Rover.

Toyota is proud of the achievements it has made when it comes to its hydrogen tech. Just over a week ago, the Toyota Mirai achieved a Guinness World Record by driving for 845 miles—the furthest distance ever traveled by a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) on just a single tank of hydrogen. Now though, Toyota is scaling down its hydrogen fuel cell technology, and we mean that quite literally.

British heavy machinery maker, JCB has developed a combustion engine that works on Hydrogen. As with the entire industry, pushing for electric powertrains, JCB too initially jumped on the trend and soon realized that there are some major setbacks with battery technology for their applications. They feel that Hydrogen provides a better way to go green. What does this mean for the combustion engine? Well, Let’s find out.

Hyundai said they had a big announcement about the future of Hydrogen. But we did NOT see this coming.

Hydrogen was declared by many to be a lost cause and a waste of time and money. However, Hyundai has apparently been investing a lot of both of those things in the advancement of hydrogen. Coming September 7th, Hyundai will release something pretty significant.

Plug-in and full hybrid vehicles are mostly viewed as a transition between internal combustion engines and EVs. In 2019, just two percent of light vehicles, sold in the US, were hybrids and for 2020, things have remained about the same. In the EU only one percent of vehicles are plug-in hybrids. However, with the recent talk about hydrogen, Hyperion Motors takes the opportunity to change the fate of hybrid vehicles. Their XP-1 hypercar took eight years to develop and now, the first prototype has finally taken shape. It certainly promises a lot, but can it deliver?

French automaker, Hopium, has made its very first hydrogen-electric prototype. It has also begun accepting orders. Because of its potential to store energy in a transportable form, hydrogen is shaping up to be a hot area in the renewable energy game. It will, however, be a difficult proposition, since there were only 553 hydrogen-filling outlets throughout the globe at the end of 2020. In other words, hydrogen isn’t exactly readily available just yet.

The Hyperion XP-1 has literally been in the works for five years, after the then-five-year-old energy company released a very random teaser for a car with extreme supercar proportions. It was five years after that before we saw or heard anything else about it, which came in the form a revised teaser image with an even better-looking silhouette. Suddenly, in July of 2020, energy company, Hyperion, confirmed that the hydrogen-powered XP-1 hypercar was almost ready to enter the world with a new teaser video that really aroused our suspicion. And, the day has finally come, and Hyperion has revealed the XP-1 in all its glory with some rather outrageous claims. These claims, friends, say that the XP-1 could sprint to 60 mph in 2.2 seconds and max out well beyond 200 mph. The projected range, however, could rattle the EV world as we know it!

The internal combustion engines are on the verge of getting knocked off into oblivion, but that doesn’t mean electrification is the only way to go. A lot of automakers are fighting to keep them alive for as long as possible before euthanizing them. Toyota is one of them, and it recently gave us a preview of the hydrogen-powered version of the GR Yaris’ engine. The automaker plonked it into a Corolla hatch and released a video of how it sounds. The XP-1 looked incredible in the press images, but would it have the same feels in the real world? Well, the Hyperion XP-1 took a stroll in the streets of Hollywood during a street photoshoot session and we must say, it looked pretty alien out there.
