Mil-Spec Automotive is back with another classic Hummer build. Called the M1-R Vision, the build comes with a snazzy exterior and interior, and a turbo V-8 that makes 500 horses. The Michigan-based tuner noted that while the truck has gone heavily under the knife, it has retained all the good stuff and taken out the bad. Yes, this is an extinct breed and Mil-Spec seems to have a good job, but is it worth spending over a quarter-million dollars on?

We already know that LeBron James has been tapped to serve as a #HummerGMCAmbassador, but what we didn’t know is that part of the perks of being an ambassador is to take delivery of a Hummer EV First Edition right on your driveway and show it off on social media for the entire world to see.

The long-awaited GMC Hummer EV has finally made it’s debut, and it comes to the party with a lot of noteworthy features and some pretty impressive performance. According to GMC, the new Hummer EV will be power by (and as expected) GM’s new Ultium batteries and the new Ultium Drive electronic motors. The Hummer will feature a total of three electric motors that, according to GMC, will deliver and impressive 1,000 horsepower and a “GM-estimated 11,500 pound-feet of torque.” It all reality, it’ll probably put close to 900 pound-feet to the ground, but we’ll leave that discussion for another time. GMC has offered up some pricing and trim information with the entry-level model commanding $79,995, but it comes with just two electric motors. It’ll be coined the “EV2” and will launch in spring of 2024. It will be preceded by the EV2x in 2023 (the lowest model that can do the CrabWalk) and the Hummer EV3X, which will be available in Fall of 2020 with a $99,995 price tag.

The new Hummer EV got all the buzz since the day GMC announced it will be teasing the new “truck” in a Super Bowl commercial. There were a lot of rumors regarding the Hummer’s revival, but none of them provided enough information and details about this revival.

In fact, even GMC has revealed only three details about the Hummer so far – the horsepower, torque, and 0-60 mph figure. Was it enough to create an itch in our brains? Of course! GMC has been tight-lipped about pretty much everything, but we should be able to get some more information about the Hummer EV until it debuts on May 20, 2020. Here’s what we know so far.

Apart from the Bronco, there was another nameplate set to make a return this year – the Hummer. GMC even played out commercials at the Superbowl announcing a 20 May 2020 debut, but that didn’t happen due to the pandemic. Now, the company has announced that the Hummer will debut later this fall. The production of the electric super truck will begin in the fall of 2021.

May 20, 2020. This was the day GM was supposed to reveal the exciting new 2022 Hummer electric pickup truck. But, courtesy of the pandemic, the launch is inevitably delayed. However, GM decided to tease enthusiasts and reveal a key detail that just made the Hummer a lot more desirable.

The automaker released a short video clip that shows the Hummer electric pickup truck with the roof panels removed. Well, didn’t see that one coming, did you?

Back in January, GM announced that the Hummer brand is making a comeback as an electric brand. A couple of weeks later, the automaker teased the reincarnated brand’s first vehicle, an electric truck, in a commercial at the 2020 Superbowl. The short ads revealed a few details about the ‘quiet revolution’ along with the reveal date – May 20, 2020. The countdown had already begun and people were already looking forward to it, but it looks like the launch is delayed. The company announced in a statement that the Hummer EV’s launch is delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Well, that’s the latest launch to be affected by COVID-19.

The Hummer EV is still a long time away, but here’s a new bit of information. GMC has filed for a new Hummer logo with the U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office. It still spells out “HUMMER”, but the font is different and fresh.

Along with this, GMC sent a second application as well, requesting the “Hummer” brand name to various applications. There was one application filed with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office as well. Although things seem to progress with the reincarnated brand, when will the truck itself be revealed, GM?

The GMC Hummer EV was announced last week and it has pretty much been in the news ever since. The company has been tight-lipped about it and hasn’t released much information on it yet. So far, all we’ve learned are horsepower, torque, and 0-60 mph figures.

Now, however, some more information about the powertrain options has come to light. The GMC Hummer will be offered with three powertrain options. This is good news because this way, GMC will most likely cover a broader spectrum instead of solely catering to high-power enthusiasts.

While it failed as a brand as soon as it launched the H3, Hummer became an iconic brand with the H1. Produced by AM General from 1992 until 2006, the H1 is still regarded as one of the best off-road, military-based civilian vehicles ever built. 12 years have passed since it was discontinued, and the H1 returns as a restomod vehicle by Mil-Spec.

Well, Mercedes-Benz did it with the G-Wagon, so why not modify a Hummer H2 SUT with an extra axle, two extra wheels, and an extra-long bed to cover it all? Yep, extra, or perhaps excess are the operative words. This massive beast actually for sale in the everything-is-bigger state of Texas for an equally large $98,950.

The vehicle started life as a standard H2 SUT with its

like removable mid-gate and fold-flat second row. The one and only owner traded in the Hummer just before an unnamed “custom outfitter/limo company” purchased the truck. That company completed all the modifications to the frame, suspension, and body, along with the military-spec “Flat Dark Earth” paint color and custom interior job.

Now this H2 SUT six-wheeler is for sale and all it takes is green money. The seller says the vehicle has a clean record and only sports 27,000 miles. Of course with it being a Hummer, it comes with GM’s 6.2-liter V-8 and six-speed automatic transmission. Sadly however, the new rear axle is just for show and doesn’t get power from the engine. The H2 still has its trusty four-wheel-drive system for getting through the rough stuff though.

Have you ever wondered how meteorological scientists study tornados? Well this is an instance where the movies didn’t lie to you. Just like in the film Twister, tornado researchers drive vehicles directly into the path of the storm and release “pods” that take scientific measurements and capture data for the researchers to study.

Real life twister hunter Dr. Joshua Wurman was looking for a vehicle that he could use for the VORTEX2 tornado research study, a vehicle that could withstand heavy rain, hail, flash flooding and washed out roads. What he chose was the HUMMER H3T to be the lead vehicle in the largest tornado study ever conducted.

The elevated ground clearance and ability to ford up to a 24 inch flood made the H3T the perfect vehicle for the job. Dr. Wurman was quoted as saying that “we can send the Hummer into places where we haven’t sent our other probe vehicles before.”

Even if GM is considering selling Hummer , they needed to do a final attempt of bringing back the brand to its previous success. In September the 2009 H3T will go on sale at a price starting at $31,495.

The H3T is offered in four trim levels, including five-cylinder models and the popular, V-8-powered H3T Alpha edition.

The standard version is powered by a Vortec 3.7L I-5 with dual overhead cams and variable valve timing. This inline five-cylinder engine offers an excellent combination of power and efficiency, delivering 242 hp at 5600 rpm and 242 lb.-ft. of torque at 4600 rpm. The engine is mated with a a five-speed manual transmission or an available four-speed, electronically controlled automatic.

The H3T Alpha will be powered by 5.3 liter V8 engine that delivers 300 hp and a peak torque of 320 lbs-ft. An aluminum cylinder block is used with the H3 Alpha’s engine. It helps reduce overall mass and maintains a more desirable front-to-rear weight balance. The engine is mated with a Hydra-Matic 4L60 electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission.

GM announced that by the end of 2010 all the Hummer vehicles will feature biofuel capability. Recently a dealership called Classic Chevrolet / Hummer opened public biofuel pumps and GM revealed a 2009 H2 SUT, which was E85 capable, described by the public who first saw it, as a derivate of the HX concept.

The biofuel station called Classic Clean Fuels, located in Dallas, Texas, offers biofuel at nine dedicated pumps which cost over $500,000. The dealership announced that it will deliver E85 capable vehicles with an extra tank of E85 . “We sell a lot of trucks capable of running on alternative fuels like E85, and even though there has been some increased availability, we saw a need for more E85 pumps where drivers could fill up” said Charles Martin, general manager at Classic Chevrolet / Hummer.

General Motors will unveil at the Chicago Auto Show the Hummer H3T, a pick-up truck based on the popular H3, but features a five-passenger crew cab and a separate five-foot-long (1.5 meters) bed. It is the only midsize truck to come standard with full-time four-wheel drive, 32-inch tires and functional skid shields. It also is the only midsize truck to offer front and rear locking differentials, as well as 33-inch tires.

The H3T is offered in four trim levels, including five-cylinder models and the popular, V-8-powered H3T Alpha edition. Production is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2008.

Another embargo broken! The Hummer H3T will make its world debut in a few weeks at the Chicago Auto Show, but as usual there was someone who ruin the surprise! The H3T won’t go on sale until the last half of 2008.

At the Detroit Auto Show, Hummer unveiled the HX Concept, a small, open-air model which points towards the US brand’s plans for a compact SUV to compete head-on with the Freelander. The future model will be badged H4 and could go into production in almost a year.

At Detroit Auto Show, in January, General Motors will unveil a Hummer H4 Concept vehicle. The model will be a smaller truck that will compete with the Jeep Wrangle and will go on sale in 2010.

The Hummer H1 Alpha is a civilian vehicle based on the M998 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), popularly known as the Humvee, which was created by AM General. The vehicle was produced from 1992 through 2006.
