With the pandemic still looming over our heads, 2021 was a pretty action-packed year for the auto industry. Sure, you had challenges, with automakers having to contend with issues like chip shortages, causing delays to consumers. But regardless, the show had to go on and we got some pretty cool cars making their debut, predominantly towards the latter half of 2021.

Let’s get one thing out of the way, 2021 really was also the year, when the market as a whole began to embrace EV’s and you could see several automakers both the legacy as well as EV startups bring several new models to market. Having said that, we did see some pretty cool ICE cars, also make their debut. Now there were several cars that made headlines this year, it was very difficult to pick out the best ones, but the cars on this list definitely stood out. Here’s our list of some of the most highly anticipated and important cars that were unveiled in 2021.

The Tesla Cybertruck debuted almost two years back, but the deliveries have still not begun. We keep getting constant updates about the unorthodox truck, but it wasn’t spied or seen testing… until now. A long, detailed drone footage of the Cybertruck testing at the Tesla’s Fremont facility has come to the fore, courtesy of ‘Chile Al100’. The video shows the Cybertruck, which seems to be in its production form, and features many changes when compared to the prototype that was unveiled in 2019.

There were rumors of a quad-motor setup making the cut in the Cybertruck, and the EV czar, Elon Musk, has now confirmed the same. Replying to a tweet, Musk said that a four-motor variant will hit the production line first. What’s more, the truck will also have Tank Turn and Crab modes! Talk about taking the Rivian R1T and the GMC Hummer EV’s most-talked features.

Some time ago, Tesla unveiled their boldly-styled Cybertruck. The futuristic-looking EV puck-up truck was and still is talked about a lot. We also know that it will be on sale sometime in late 2021. Despite its official introduction, however, the Cybertruck remained a work in progress and now, more details about it came out.

Don’t look now, but a collaboration between Halo and Tesla could be more than just a pipe dream. People have major range anxiety when it comes to passenger EVs; so you can imagine how commercial truck operators must feel about electric cargo haulers. Back in 2017, Musk had said that the upcoming commercial Semi would achieve as much as 500 miles of range on a single charge. It seemed almost impossible back then, but battery technology has taken huge strides. Three years later, Tesla is now talking about a 600+ miles range. Does it still seem unbelievable? I don’t think so.

The Tesla Cybertruck is, without question, one of the most polarizing vehicles in recent memory. It doesn’t abide by traditional design norms of a pickup truck, and yet, it’s the audacity in Tesla’s design that has kept the Cybertruck in the headlines.

What more can we say about the Tesla Cybertruck that hasn’t already been said? It’s awesome, it’s ugly, it’s interesting, it will work, it won’t work – we’ve said and heard it all. But, there’s something that you haven’t heard quite yet, and that’s the cold hard fact that neither Tesla nor Elon Musk did any market research before designing and developing the Cybertruck. This is about as risky as it gets for an automaker, and it’s probably a big reason why models like the Mercedes X-Class just couldn’t cut the mustard.

The Cybertruck has been reimagined as a heavy-armored truck, combat truck, a vehicle fit to be driven on Mars and whatnot. But how would it serve as a pizza delivery vehicle or a taxi? It seems a little contrasting with its demeanor, but U.K.-based LeaseFetcher has imagined it in various avatars.

It’s been around seven months since the Cybertruck was officially launched. The truck is no more a closely guarded secret and it has been seen driving around L.A., but Tesla never made it accessible to the public… until now.

The automaker loaned a prototype of this one-of-a-kind truck to the Petersen Automotive Museum for the public to get a closer look. The truck is already on display and will be there till June 27.

By now, you’d expect Tesla to have zeroed down on the production version of the Cybertruck. However, the company is still making tweaks here and there and is even accepting suggestions from the public. A Twitter user recently suggested flipping down the rear window and folding the body panel to increase storage. Elon Musk replied saying it’s worth considering. It’s quite a good idea and will help people who carry long items in their trucks often.

When we got the first glimpse of the Cybertruck, we were convinced that this vehicle doesn’t belong here and it sure is ‘out of the world’. It became the talk of the town for its unconventional, unorthodox design philosophy. But, how would it fare on another planet? Thanks to this video by youtuber Holmes Draws, we can now imagine how the Tesla would look on outer space.

Back in January, the Cybertruck was spotted with two big names from the automotive industry seated in it. Tesla CEO Elon Musk was riding shotgun in the Cybertruck that was driven by Jay Leno. The drive was for a segment of Jay Leno’s Garage’s latest season, which premiered on May 20, 2020. A short video showing them cruising in the Cybertruck was uploaded on Instagram back then, but now we have a trailer that shows us what to expect from this episode.
