Although it was bound to happen, this comes as a surprise. GMC dropped a short trailer teasing the new upcoming Electric Sierra Denali. The automaker hasn’t revealed any details about it, but gave us a glimpse of its front fascia. Well, something’s better than nothing and we at least know GMC has already started working on electrifying the Sierra.

GMC took the wraps off the 2022 Sierra today and it seems to be an impressive upgrade over the outgoing model. The company has introduced two new trims which are basically upgraded versions of the existing trims. One is the Denali Ultimate, and the other is the AT4X. Apart from this, there are a lot of tech upgrades as well, but the highlight of the lot is the introduction of the Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology. If you had only the Ford F-150, Ram 1500, and the Chevy Silverado shortlisted for your next truck purchase, well, skimping the 2022 Sierra will be a cardinal sin.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra came out with all guns blazing. It doesn’t offer a plethora of engine options like its American rivals, but it still has a strong and loyal fan base who swear by its reliability. No wonder the Tundra and the Tacoma have a high demand even in the pre-worshipped market. While the 2022 model’s highlight was the new hybrid engine, there’s one other thing that deserves attention – its composite bed. It is said to be more abuse-friendly, but is that true?

The Porsche 911 Carrera, the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, the Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R, the Mazda RX-7, the Mercedes-Benz 500 SL, and BMW 850i. All sporty coupes, equipped with plenty of power and performance. What do they all have in common?

Well, they were all driven to extinction by a small, inconspicuous, and dirt cheap pickup truck. The GMC Syclone. Back in ’91, the Syclone was among the coolest vehicles out there that money could buy. With its turbocharged V-6 engine under the hood, this factory-built bundle of insanity was capable of churning out sportscar-like performance figures. GMC has unveiled the Canyon AT4 OVRLANDX concept at the Overland Expo Mountain West. As the name suggests, it is based on the Canyon’s off-road trim, the AT4. Overlanding is a niche that’s picking up pace quite rapidly and automakers are offering accessories for the same. The OVRLANDX concept is developed keeping this in mind and it comes with goodies that will make your camping experience even better. Also, it comes with a lot of off-road equipment, thus elevating the AT4 trim as a whole.

The Hummer models were known for their brawny appearance and gas-guzzling nature. But, GMC revived the moniker last year as a clean, sober vehicle that doesn’t have a drinking problem anymore. This stark opposite nature is still a little tough to digest, but we’re more than happy to have the Hummer badge live on. After introducing it as a supertruck in 2020, the company brought out its SUV version, too.

The nameplate aside, the 2022 Hummer EV is filled to the brim when it comes to features and technology. There’s the Crab Walk mode, Extract mode, and the Super Cruise tech to name a few. Another exciting feature is the Watts To Freedom (WTF) which is essentially a Launch Control.

To commemorate Independence Day, GMC has released a video of the Hummer supertruck’s Watts To Freedom mode in action. To see a 9,000-pound beast sprint to 60 mph from rest in three seconds is scary and exciting. A perfect name for this mode – WTF!

Pickup trucks were always bareboned and were meant to be used as work vehicles. We saw a lot of performance, off-road trucks now, but there weren’t a lot of such options back in the day. Many automakers gave this a shot and no matter how good they were, they never made it big. One of the most prominent performance trucks from back in the day is the GMC Syclone.

The Syclone hit the automotive scene in 1991 and took everyone by surprise. Not a lot of people could fathom a truck that could take on, or probably even take down some of the most beloved supercars from that era. With performance specs that are impressive even three decades later, the GMC Syclone is the truck that the world needs today.

GMC introduced the Hummer EV supertruck last year and has now followed it up with the Hummer EV SUV. At the onset, it seems like a pickup truck that comes with a roof welded on the bed to make it an SUV. However, there is a lot more than meets the eye. Unlike the Rivian truck and SUV twins, the Hummer EV SUV has been placed as an inferior offering. There is a difference in specs, power outputs, and other things that makes it look like the second fiddle to the EV truck. The pricing, however, is on par for the standard models and there is a difference only in the Launch Edition model.

The new Hummer EV has been on a roll ever since it was officially announced. The momentum and hype just don’t seem to die. It looked like talks about it will die down post the launch, but we were wrong. The electric truck is in the news again for being sold for $2.5 million at an auction recently! This GMC Hummer EV boasts of the VIN 001 and is trimmed in the top Edition 1 specs. That’s another feather added to its cap.

The GMC Syclone is undoubtedly one of the most bonkers cars ever built by GM. It could whoop a Ferrari’s ass in a straight-line race back in 1991 and just under 3,000 units were produced, all painted black - except for the Marlboro Editions, which were red and white.

GM announced the reincarnation of the Hummer moniker in early 2020 as an EV, to much surprise. The Hummer EV boasts of specs that can throw the competition out of the water, but it comes with a starting sticker price of $80,000, which makes it a super-premium offering. So, is this mouth-watering product with an eye-watering price tag the ultimate truck that you need in your garage?

GMC Canyon has been around for quite some time now, and together with the Chevy Colorado, it is raking up respectable numbers for General Motors. The Canyon is positioned as a more premium and stylish version of the Colorado. For starters, the top-spec Denali trim has gotten all the more premium, while the All-Terrain trim is dropped in favor of the exciting new AT4 trim that is present on the big brother Sierra as well. GMC will build its first electric vehicle in 2021. That’s when the Hummer EV will go into production. But the resurrected truck won’t be the only EV in the brand’s lineup. The GM-owned marque revealed that it will also offer an all-electric Sierra pickup, but there’s no specific timeline for that vehicle yet.

There’s been so much buzz surrounding the Hummer’s resurgence since the beginning of this year. Right from the Super Bowl advertisements to the delay in launch. Finally, last month, GMC launched the Hummer EV in all its glory. While the talking point was how it went from being a fuel guzzler in its past life to an environment-friendly vehicle, there were some talks about its looks as well. It seems to have a strong road presence, but no one called it a handsome truck exactly.

When GMC unveiled the 2021 Canyon AT4 back in January, speculation started that a special edition model was already in the works. It probably took longer than GMC expected — blame the COVID-19 pandemic for that — but 10 months after the Canyon AT4’s arrival, the special edition model, dubbed the Off-Road Performance Edition, is finally here.

As expected, the Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition packs plenty of extra goodies, most of which are of the functional sort. There are visual upgrades, too, but this special edition truck is all about making sure that your travails on roads less travelled run smoothly and without any complications.

General Motors has recently unveiled the GMC Hummer EV, an all-electric revival of the iconic SUV and truck. But deliveries of the all-electric hauler won’t commence until late 2021 when the limited-edition and expensive Edition 1 trim rolls off the assembly line. The Hummer EV is still some 12 months away, but Emelia Hartford got her hands on one for a quick walkaround.

GMC revealed the Hummer EV and let out a few details about the supertruck. In all honestly, it is quite impressive on paper, although it doesn’t offer the same value proposition as, say, the upcoming Cybertruck. This is on paper comparison given that we’ve seen none of these trucks in flesh. GMC announced that the Hummer EV, in the top trim, will make 1,000 horses and 11,500 pound-feet of torque. The torque took a lot of people by shock because it seems unrealistic. If you thought the same, well, you’re kinda right, because there is a catch to this figure.

The automaker announced the torque at wheels instead of the torque at motors, and the latter is way less. Jason Fenske from Engineering Explained broke down the math and concluded that the motor torque is around 1,000 pound-feet of torque. That’s quite a bit less in comparison, but it is not a minuscule number by any means and is on par with other gas- and diesel-powered heavy trucks on the market.
