Sleeper cars and trucks are probably the best vehicles you see on the road. As typical an underdog move this is, it sure increases the surprise factor multifold. The latest sleeper truck that we came across is this Ford F-150 that makes 1,200 horsepower! It even proves its prowess by humiliating a Corvette Z06. Oh, the fun the driver must have every single day!

With the pandemic still looming over our heads, 2021 was a pretty action-packed year for the auto industry. Sure, you had challenges, with automakers having to contend with issues like chip shortages, causing delays to consumers. But regardless, the show had to go on and we got some pretty cool cars making their debut, predominantly towards the latter half of 2021.

Let’s get one thing out of the way, 2021 really was also the year, when the market as a whole began to embrace EV’s and you could see several automakers both the legacy as well as EV startups bring several new models to market. Having said that, we did see some pretty cool ICE cars, also make their debut. Now there were several cars that made headlines this year, it was very difficult to pick out the best ones, but the cars on this list definitely stood out. Here’s our list of some of the most highly anticipated and important cars that were unveiled in 2021.

Hennessey Performance was out at the Pennzoil proving grounds in Sealy, Texas once again, with their Venom 775 taking on an equally aggressive Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Let’s look at the numbers on these two machines to see how they stack up against each other, shall we?

Ford launched the F-150 Lightning earlier this year. The electric truck checks almost all the boxes and can be considered as the first mainstream electric pickup truck for the masses. There are a lot of electric trucks launched in recent years, like the Tesla Cybertruck, the Rivian R1T, the Lordstown Endurance, the Bollinger B2, etc. But, none of them offer the all-round capability that the F-150 Lightning does.

The Ford truck comes with all the bells and whistles one can ask for, and then some more. For now, Ford has launched it in one body style and three basic trims plus an exclusive work truck model, but expect it to grow in the coming years. With all the subsidies and credits, the F-150 Lightning works out to be the cheapest full-size truck in the market today! (more on this in the ‘Pricing’ section). From the looks of it, the F-150 Lightning seems to be an all-rounder that offers good power outputs, decent range, and a lot of tech features. Just a few days ago, we reported that Ford is aiming to be the world’s second-largest electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer in the world, and as a matter of fact, the company has confirmed that it now has 200,000 reservations for the F-150 Lightning. Unfortunately, it is also because of that reason that led the Blue Oval brand to close reservations for its full-size EV pickup.

The folks at ‘The Fast Lane Truck’ conducted a drag race with not two, but five different pickup trucks. They had trucks across segments, starting from the Ford Maverick and the Hyundai Santa Cruz, to the Nissan Frontier, the Toyota Tundra, and the Ford F-150 Raptor. This wasn’t a conventional race wherein you just had all five trucks go at it together. It was more of a gauntlet match wherein the winner of a race faced a new truck in the next round and the loser got eliminated. Sounds a little like Squid Game, doesn’t it?

While Tesla continues to lead the electric vehicle (EV) sales race, Ford is aiming to become the second-largest EV manufacturer within the next two years. This is thanks to the huge interest that was generated by the F-150 Lightning, which will reach customers by Spring 2022, ahead of Tesla’s Cybertruck.

After 11 years on the market, the Ranger T-6 was finally replaced! The 2023 Ranger made its debut on November 24, 2021, and we know for sure a Raptor version is just around the corner. Now, thanks to X-Tomi Design we also have a better look at the next Ranger Raptor.

For a company that comes up with pretty much a new generation of the F-150 every five years, it sure milked the Ranger for a very, very long time; 11 years to be precise. Ford sold the Ranger T-6 for 11 years without a major update, but times are changing now.

The Blue Oval has unveiled the next-gen 2023 Ford Ranger. It is based on an upgraded chassis, comes with new styling cues, and also features a new V-6 diesel mill. The mid-size truck will also have a longer wheelbase, a wider body, and a whole of tech features inside.

The Ford F-Series can be given the tag of ‘The Truck of America’ without a doubt. The F-Series has been the best-selling range for close to five consecutive decades. Although the F-150 gets the major chunk of the volume for Ford, there are many other heavy-duty models in the range that have been ruling the respective segments. We recently laid our hands on the 2021 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab. Ford is back at the SEMA Show with a plethora of concepts. The company has with concepts for the Bronco, the Maverick, theRanger, the F-150, the Mustang, and the Mustang Mach-E. What has the world come to? Just a decade ago, you wouldn’t think much of pick-up trucks in terms of straight-line acceleration. If the VelociRaptor 600 name sounds familiar to you is because the name has a history on the market. Hennessey actually just announced the third generation based on the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor.

The model will be limited to only 250 units and has a starting price of $85,950. However, with all the available packages and optional features, the price usually goes in the region of $110,000 - including the stock Ford F-150 Raptor.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra came out with all guns blazing. It doesn’t offer a plethora of engine options like its American rivals, but it still has a strong and loyal fan base who swear by its reliability. No wonder the Tundra and the Tacoma have a high demand even in the pre-worshipped market. While the 2022 model’s highlight was the new hybrid engine, there’s one other thing that deserves attention – its composite bed. It is said to be more abuse-friendly, but is that true?

We talk about how the upcoming electric pickup trucks are fast and heavy on performance. Trucks like the Tesla Cybertruck, the Rivian R1T, the GMC Hummer EV, etc. are all quicker than some of the famous supercars of this era. Ford offered the "Splash" package for the first time back in the 1990s when it was offered as an update for the Ranger pickup. Then, in June, 2021, the company trademarked the name again and initial rumors said it will be used for an electric pickup. Turns out those rumors were false, as the Splash is offered once again as an update package for the 2022 Ranger.
