Have you ever seen a Tesla Model S powered by a jet engine? Well, this particular Model S P85 has not one, but three of them sitting at the back, and not only does it look outrageous, but as you can already imagine, it sounds phenomenal. The brilliant, as well as an insane idea, comes from Warped Perception, who decided to put this idea to the test, for his YouTube channel.

The Audi RS3 was recently updated and it is a fantastic proposition overall. Audi even gave it a little more torque this time around. But, it is still not in the leagues of EVs when it comes to straight-line races. The folks at Carwow pit the Audi RS3 against a Tesla Model 3 that was nothing more than a glorified squash. The Model 3 is in a league of its own, and in this race, it proved the same by obliterating the RS3.

The Tesla Cybertruck debuted almost two years back, but the deliveries have still not begun. We keep getting constant updates about the unorthodox truck, but it wasn’t spied or seen testing… until now. A long, detailed drone footage of the Cybertruck testing at the Tesla’s Fremont facility has come to the fore, courtesy of ‘Chile Al100’. The video shows the Cybertruck, which seems to be in its production form, and features many changes when compared to the prototype that was unveiled in 2019.

There is no dearth of electric cars in the market now. We aren’t just talking about the urban commuters, but also fast electric cars. There are many new automakers that start their electric car journey with fast cars or electric supercars. Companies like Estrema, Aspark, and even Tesla, for that matter, came up with fast electric sports cars or electric supercars. While some have faded into oblivion after showing us promising concepts, some have weathered the storm and are either into production or will enter production.

Here’s a list of the eight fastest electric cars in the world today that are in the production stage or about to enter production. Some of these fast cars are from mainstream automakers, some from established EVmakers, and some from new start-ups.

Hoonigan’s YouTube channel returns with another “Hoonicorn versus the world” episode and this time it’s all on the line because the mighty Hoonicorn goes up against a Tesla Model S Plaid – the bane of many high-performance, combustion-powered vehicles. So far the Lia Block – Ken Block’s, 14-year old daughter - has been crushing it, losing only to a 2,000 horsepower Nissan GT-R. Will Tesla take another scalp or will the Hoonicorn finally put it in its place?

There were rumors of a quad-motor setup making the cut in the Cybertruck, and the EV czar, Elon Musk, has now confirmed the same. Replying to a tweet, Musk said that a four-motor variant will hit the production line first. What’s more, the truck will also have Tank Turn and Crab modes! Talk about taking the Rivian R1T and the GMC Hummer EV’s most-talked features.

Ever since the Tesla Model S Plaid arrived, it has taken the drag racing scene by storm. The mighty fast EV has downed big names like the Lamborghini Huracan EVO, the McLaren 765 LT, the Dodge Demon, the Nissan GT-R, and even the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, to name a few. Now, the McLaren 720S Spider took it upon itself to avenge the humiliation the Plaid has caused to those cars, and it has successfully done it. All hail the McLaren 720S Spider!

The Tesla Model S Plaid has been kicking ass ever since it was launched. Its straight-line sprints have been nothing but impressive. The car comes with ridiculous performance specs, with one of them being a quarter-mile time of 9.23 seconds. Many drivers have attempted to break the record and some have successfully managed to do it, but none of them were able to slip under the nine-second mark… until now. A Plaid owner has clocked a time of 8.994 seconds to set a new record! How long do you think it will stay?

Brooks from ‘DragTimes’ has come up with yet another Tesla Model S Plaid race, but for once, its legacy is at stake. So far, the Plaid has remained pretty much unbeatable, except for losing to the Rimac Nevera. This time, it faces the Ferrari SF90 Stradale – a hybrid car that makes close to 1,000 horses and is significantly lighter than the Plaid, thus giving it a better power-to-weight ratio. Will the SF90 Stradale prove to be the Plaid’s nemesis as long as it lives?

It’s a well-known fact that EVs are better swimmers than internal combustion engines. But, how much better? Are they good at just wading, or can they actually “swim”? Well, Chet from ‘Chillin’ with Chet’ tested this out on his new Tesla Model S Plaid and proved that EVs can actually even be submerged! Of course, a lot of prep went into this ‘submarine test’, so don’t even think about trying this with your electric vehicle!

The Tesla Model S Plaid was spotted testing at the Nürburgring recently with an aero package equipped. Now, three prototypes have been spotted by our spy photographers on the ‘Ring as well as on the public roads. The highlight, of course, is the aero package and that active rear spoiler, but we also spotted it riding on different tires on the public roads and the track. With the way the testing is going, we think the package will be released soon.

When Tesla decided to up the ante with the Model S, it had two versions in the pipeline – the Plaid and the Plaid+. However, in June 2020, Elon Musk announced on Twitter that the Plaid+ is canceled since the “Plaid is just so good”. Seeing the Plaid, I’m quite sure no one really needs more power and performance; well, not right away, though. But, a lot of us were wondering what it would’ve been like.

If you belong to that set, then here’s some news for you. It looks like the Model S Plaid+ isn’t dead because it was recently spotted testing at the Nürburgring; or is it just a Track Pack? Whatever it is, it is exciting.

The Model S Plaid set a new record for the fastest production EV at the Nürburgring, snatching the record from Porsche. Elon Musk confirmed this on Twitter, but Tesla also uploaded a video of the run from Model S Plaid’s onboard camera. It seems like a pretty neat view of the action, but there’s something else that caught our attention – the top speed.

The driver managed to touch 269 kph, or 167.14 mph, in this run, which is the best the car has done to date.

The Tesla Model S Plaid has been spied at the Nürburgring numerous times in the past and the only logical explanation was it attempting to break the record for the fastest production EV. Now, the cat’s out of the bag. Elon Musk tweeted to confirm that the Model S Plaid has officially set a new record, dethroning the Porsche Taycan and beating its record by a margin of 12 seconds!

Two of the hottest electric vehicles on the market right now, the Rimac Nevera & the recently launched Tesla Model S Plaid, go head-to-head across three-quarter-mile drag races. The DragTimes YouTube Channel has put out a video of one of the best races of the year.

As you are probably well aware, a lot of governments offer some relatively big incentives to get people into EVs, probably, well before they would normally make the transition. Government incentives have been a big deal here in the U.S. and even over in Europe. Canada also has a new incentive – a $5,000 tax incentive – but there’s a catch: The electric car in question needs to have a base price under $45,000 and cost no more than $55,000 with options. Tesla’s entire lineup was out of the running, until recently when Tesla dropped the price of the entry-level Model 3 to $44,999 by removing autopilot and cutting range down to just 151 km or about 94 miles. This is where it gets sketchy, and it gives a good reason for criticism.

The winter storm wasn’t been kind to the Texans with basic services like power and water taking a big hit. A lot of good Samaritans have come to the rescue, including Ford, who had asked the dealerships to loan out the F-150 trucks with Pro Power onboard generators to people without power at home. In such dire situations, one would assume that using EVs as a stationary power source would also be a good idea, but as it turns out, it’s not the case with Tesla.

As pointed out by ‘Green’ on Twitter, using your Tesla as a power generator will void its warranty. If you already have, well, don’t talk about it on social media.

Since Elon Musk announced a new affordable Tesla model at the 2020 Battery Day, the internet has been buzzing about it, trying to unearth every detail possible. Although Tesla is known to keep the cards close to its chest in such matters (remember what a surprise the Cybertruck was?), there are a few bits of information out there apart from the ones that Musk has announced. One – it could arrive sooner than expected. And, two – it will cost not $25,000; but $18,000!
