There is no dearth of electric cars in the market now. We aren’t just talking about the urban commuters, but also fast electric cars. There are many new automakers that start their electric car journey with fast cars or electric supercars. Companies like Estrema, Aspark, and even Tesla, for that matter, came up with fast electric sports cars or electric supercars. While some have faded into oblivion after showing us promising concepts, some have weathered the storm and are either into production or will enter production.

Here’s a list of the eight fastest electric cars in the world today that are in the production stage or about to enter production. Some of these fast cars are from mainstream automakers, some from established EVmakers, and some from new start-ups.

It’s a well-known fact that EVs are better swimmers than internal combustion engines. But, how much better? Are they good at just wading, or can they actually “swim”? Well, Chet from ‘Chillin’ with Chet’ tested this out on his new Tesla Model S Plaid and proved that EVs can actually even be submerged! Of course, a lot of prep went into this ‘submarine test’, so don’t even think about trying this with your electric vehicle!

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed that the company’s headquarters will be relocated from California to Texas at the 2021 Annual Meeting of Stockholders event. The famed EV automaker was previously based in Palo Alto, in Silicon Valley. However, last year, Musk vowed to relocate the company’s headquarters to Texas in response to the closing of its primary facility in Fremont outside, San Francisco. He was dissatisfied with the factory’s temporary closure owing to Covid restrictions.

German tuning studio Manhart is mostly known for its tasteful modifications to various BMW models. For years, the tuning specialists have taken BMW vehicles and have enhanced their looks, as well as performance. In more recent times, the company has started branching out and we’ve seen their work on cars like the Lamborghini Urus and Land Rover Discovery. Apparently, they’ve decided that the Tesla Model 3 could use a grille, despite being an EV, and the results are interesting to say the least.

Tesla can be credited for igniting this full-on electric car movement we’ve been witnessing over the past couple of years, with Dieselgate acting as a catalyzer for Volkswagen AG but also for other German brands, BMW included.

Well-established carmakers have been on a spending spree trying to develop electric powertrains and EVs and BMW CEO Oliver Zipse believes they will soon catch up with Tesla and even get ahead of it.

Back in May 2018, Tesla was looking for auto technicians to work on repairing vehicles that just came off the production line in Tesla’s Fremont plant. Two years later, the company still can’t get car assembly right, not even on a $70,000 Model Y. So, should Tesla still claim that it makes premium automobiles?

It is a known fact that electric cars suffer from range issues in extreme temperatures. However, Musk’s team has come up with a solution to make EVs more efficient in colder climates. Tesla has equipped a heat pump in the Model Y to counter this problem and it has even left Elon Musk impressed.

The feature came to light when an owner discovered the heat pump in his Model Y. Even the owner’s manual mentions it. Could it be the next big thing in electric vehicles?

Tesla announced the Sentry Model in February, 2019, as an extra layer of protection added to its cars against theft. Essentially, Sentry Mode continuously monitors the car’s vicinity and reacts to various threats.

But as it turns out, a police department has deemed Tesla’s Sentry Mode as extremely useful for its officers and patrol cars.

Let’s be honest here; the Tesla Model 3’s interior isn’t exactly rich and well defined. It is sparsely equipped with one massive screen that hosts virtual buttons for all functions. In higher grade trims, Tesla did manage to offer nice upholstery on the seats and more expensive materials on the doors. It does give a bit of style and pizzazz to the Tesla Model 3, but nowhere near enough to match the lavish of the Lexus IS, 3 Series, or, the Mercedes-Benz C-class. The problem is that even the most expensive Model 3’s interior cannot hold a candle to the interiors of even less expensive cars. And now, we have a stripped-down Model 3. What could Tesla possibly delete from the Model 3 to lower its price to $35,000? Well, here’s a list of everything you don’t get with the entry-level Tesla Model 3.

With the $35,000 priceModel 3, Elon Musk promised to bring electric cars to the masses. Well, when the EV was released, in July 2017, the automaker offered only the much more expensive Long Range and Performance models. Only earlier this year, Tesla delivered the agreed $35,000 Model 3 and guess what? Since its introduction, the carmaker removed the car from its online ordering system and raised the price. Thus the long-awaited $35,000 Tesla, survived on the market for less than three months.

The start of production of the 2020 Tesla Model Y next year will result in a battery cell shortage, according to reports from the Gigafactory 1 factory. Panasonic’s CEO, Kazuhiro Tsuga, wants to discuss the topic with Tesla. For the production of the Model Y, Tesla has yet to declare which factory it will use. Also, Tesla has not confirmed any battery supplier for the production of the Model 3.
