Toyota Avalon is entering the 2022 model year with just a few minor updates across the lineup. The biggest addition is the new XSE Hybrid Nightshade Edition offered for the first time. As a result, the 2022 Avalon will be offered in six configurations with the option of two different powertrains: XLE, Limited, Touring, XLE Hybrid, XSE Hybrid Nightshade and Limited Hybrid. Prices will range from $36,375 for the XLE version to $43,075 for the Touring version. The new XSE Hybrid Nightshade Edition will be priced at $40,700.

The Camry is in its eighth generation and is one of Toyota’s best-selling cars outside of the RAV4. The Camry went through a major update for the 2021 model year, but little has changed for 2022. Engine options include your choice of a four-cylinder and a V-6, with the latter offering up 301 horsepower, and there’s an optional AWD system.

Nowadays, a lot of car manufacturers talk about going carbon neutral, and Toyota is one of the companies at the forefront of this endeavor. Toyota made it clear, by now, that the company is not really interested in developing sports cars by itself. The folks at ‘The Fast Lane Truck’ conducted a drag race with not two, but five different pickup trucks. Toyota is announcing a recall for the 2022 model year Sienna. The recall involves an issue with its seat belts, which might not be able to do what they are supposed to do in the first place. To be precise, 2,259 units of the 2022 Toyota Sienna are affected by faulty seat belts. Affected vehicles have outboard second-row seat belt assemblies that were manufactured with an incorrect D-ring, which leads to the directional low-friction insert facing the wrong direction.

Toyota might not be the company that’s most critical of combating climate change and was recently ranked as the third most resistant to climate change polices, but that doesn’t mean it’s not inching its way into electrification. The very first step in the brand’s transformation is the BZ4X, which was revealed as a concept earlier this year and is now scheduled to arrive at dealers in production form by mid-2022 as a 2023 model. Now, for its 25th anniversary, Toyota is celebrating this huge success by adding a new trim level to the 2022 lineup. Next to that, the entire 2022 RAV4 lineup will receive both exterior and interior updates.

Toyota introduced the new, third-gen 2022 Tundra a couple of months back. The third-gen truck was due for a long as the second-gen model was in production for 14 years. The company tweaked it many times in its run, but it started to feel too long in the tooth when compared to its chief rivals. The new 2022 Tundra was expected to come with a lot of new specs and features and it didn’t disappoint.

The highlight of the new Tundra are its drivetrain options. The company ditched the old V-8 workhorse in favor of a V-6 that is offered in three configurations. Apart from this, it rides on a new platform and features a new suspension setup, has a sharper exterior, and comes with a tech-heavy, updated interior. It starts at nearly $36,000; up by over $1,500 over the model it replaces.

Toyota revealed the BZ4X concept back in April of 2021, and now we’re getting our first look at the production model. Luckily, the production model looks a lot like the concept, all the way down to the aggressive body lines. When it hits the market in mid-2022, it’ll be offered with FWD or AWD and will serve as a stepping stone into the future. It’s the first of seven models planned over the next nine years, and this is what we know about it.
