Toyota 1JZ vs 2JZ - Which Engine is Better?Games, set up in the dystopian future give room for some incredible designs. More often than not, they serve as inspiration to digital designers to create some truly epic stuff, based on existing models. This is exactly the case with this rendering of a Toyota A70 Supra, done by Dom Höst, also known as altered_intent, and vaguely resembles its former self.

Drag races are particularly interesting when they are between two very different cars. With this in mind, Sam CarLegion gives us another drag race between two very different Toyota products. On one side, we have the light and nimble Toyota GR Supra, while on the other, a Lexus RC-F that can best be described as a Japanese muscle car. Both cars send power to the rear axle, but that’s about all they have in common.

Japanese sports cars from the 1990s are some of the most recognized ones amongst the car culture. As described by Jeremy Clarkson, in a movie about the Nissan Skyline GT-R, Japan took over the world…and then lost it. While the latter is a topic for another time, what is true for the Skyline also goes for these three – the Toyota Supra, Nissan 300Z, and Mazda RX-7. Our colleagues from “EverydayDriver” - Todd Deeken and Paul Schmucker - take us on a spirited drive with these three JDM legends to determine the pros and cons of each and why they are so desired.

Carwow is back with another one of its epic drag races and this one actually makes quite a bit of sense. Ever since the Alpine A110 S came out, we have been wondering how the French mid-engine sports car would fare against some of the hottest sports cars, currently on sale. The British YouTube channel provides the answer, courtesy of a Porsche 718 Cayman GTS and a Toyota GR Supra.

Toyota wouldn’t be the first brand you think of when talking about exciting cars. However, the Japanese brand has been on something of a roll in recent times and the GR Yaris is one of the best examples. Chris Harris has driven and raced more than a few cars, so he is quite qualified to talk about it while finding out its limits. As you might guess, some epic driving is in store, and here’s what Harris makes of Toyota’s rally-bred hot hatch.

If you follow the tuner scene, you are, most likely, familiar with the Rocket Bunny body kits. Originating from Japan, the Rocket Bunny body kits are as striking and as aggressive as possible for a road-going car. Kei Miura’s wide-body designs can make even the most docile-looking car look like a road-going predator. As soon as we learned of the new Toyota GR 86, we knew it was a matter of time before a dedicated Rocket Bunny kit was in the making. Now, we finally have images of the Rocket Bunny 86, and we like what we see.

There’s no denying that we are spoiled for choice when it comes to hot hatchbacks. The Honda Civic Type-R, Hyundai Veloster N, and VW Golf GTIare currently some of the most popular global models out there, but now there’s another one on the way. It seems Toyota Gazoo Racing is not done with launching hot versions of boring cars and a GR Corolla is on the way. However, it’s not going to arrive when initially expected.

Entering its second generation, the GR 86 has uplifting expectations as a coupe, and carries forward quite a few elements which make it stick to “the roots”. And that, we all know that the GR 86 shares a lot of DNA with the Subaru BRZ, including the same chassis and the engine, but some would argue that the former is lighter and manageable in most conditions. For the 2022 model year, the 86 features a flat-four engine layout but the size has gone up to 2.4-liter and it is still naturally aspirated. The new 86 is offered with your choice of a manual or automatic transmission. Apart from the mechanics, the coupe comes loaded with tech and the cabin gets significant updates to give that new-car feeling. The Gazoo Racing team has put up a big effort to make the GR 86 stand out in the crowd and and it’s fairly affordable for what it offers.

The global version of the 2022 Toyota GR86 arrived back in April of 2021, and since then, we’ve seen what it could look like as a convertible, as a shooting brake, and we’ve even seen how others would have redesigned it. However, up until now, we hadn’t seen or heard anything about the model that would land here in the States, but all that has changed now, as Toyota has finally revealed most of what we need to know. We already had a good idea of what to expect, but now we know for sure that it was worth the wait. Here’s what you need to know about the U.S.-spec 2022 Toyota GR86.

We all know an love - well, not all - the A90 Supra and its 3-liter inline-six mill which, yes, comes from BMW, the co-developer of the Supra-Z4 project.

One year after the Supra’s unveil, Toyota decided to come up with a lighter, cheaper, and presumably equally fun version that’s animated by a four-cylinder mill. Turbocharging is still on the table, as well as a lighter platform for even nippier on-road behavior, despite the natural drop in power. Here’s all you need to know about the 2021 Toyota GR Supra 2.0.

There are cars that are meant to be driven properly and there are cars that most often than not, act like very expensive enhancers for the driver’s ego. Just like its predecessor, the A90 Toyota Supra falls in the first category.

Nevermind BMW’s involvement in the project and those arguing the new Supra isn’t as charming as the model it replaces and not a Toyota anymore. Come sunset, the new Supra looks best with a thick layer of mud on its hips and a couple hundred more miles added to the odometer.

While news outlets everywhere are praising the 2021 Toyota Supra for its updated powertrain and improved performance, Europeans are stuck looking in from the sidelines. Due to the ever-increasing and near-impossible to hit emissions regulations, Toyota is being forced to withhold all the updates that just made the 2021 Supra that much better here in the States. What can we say, Euro 6 emissions regulations are a real bitch when it comes to getting cool, fast cars.

The 2020 Toyota Supra was praised up and down when it was launched, and yet, it always felt like it deserved better. After all, the BMW Z4 it was based on was more powerful and faster. Well, Toyota has remedied all of that for 2021 by injecting the Supra with more power, better technology, improved driving dynamics, and there’s now a four-cylinder model available. The downside? Well, if you bought a 2020 Toyota Supra, Toyota kind of stuck it to you without the thought of lube.

When Toyota launched the 2020 GR Supra, many fans of the nameplate received the news with a dose of skepticism. Unlike the previous generations, the new Supra shares a lot of internal bits and bobs, engine included, with another car - namely the BMW Z4. Some say it’s not a Toyota anymore, but a rebadged BMW. We just think they’re entitled to their opinion.

MotorTrend went further with the comparison and pitted a 2020 Supra against a 2019 M2 Competition. They both have straight-six engines made by BMW, they’re both RWD, and they’re very similar when it comes to 0-60 acceleration.

What happens when you invite two professional drift racers and tell them that they’re competing in a friendly game of H-O-R-S-E? It’s the makings of a fun and competitive duel, but since Toyota was the one that did the inviting, this game of horse came with an added twist: a pair of brand-new 2020 Toyota GR Supras. The objective of the game, according to fellow pro drift racer and part-time game master, Ryan Tuerck, is to perform a series of stunts with the Supra. Whoever doesn’t complete any of these stunts gets a letter added to them. The first one to spell H-O-R-S-E loses. Simple enough, right? It should be, at least for Ken Gushi and Frederic Aasbo, the two pro drifters who competed head-to-head for the honor of becoming the first-ever Toyota Supra Game of Horse Power Champion.

What does the future behold? There are countless future classics ready to slide out from under the sheets of which they’ve been covered, and it’s all set to happen in 2019. There will be new EVs, new muscle cars, and a complete evolution of luxury cars. One of America’s most loved sports cars, the Chevy Corvette, is set move into a mid-engine configuration - something that’s been in the works for decades. With that said, we have a lot to be excited for, and this is a list of the models that we just can’t wait any longer for.

We have something special for you today - the first look at the long-awaited Toyota Supra A90. SupraMKV forum leaked the picture that clearly shows the front end of the new Toyota Supra. Of course, nothing is official as of yet, but I am really confident that this is the real deal. It shows the Toyota Supra being transported by a car transport wagon. The photo we have does show clear links with the FT-1 concept Toyota presented five years ago. That is a really good thing as the FT-1 looks rather stunning. The first public image of the new Toyota Supra in grey is the biggest news today, and I can say right now that this car does not look like the Z4 as some have feared.

There are images aplenty of the new Supra, but these days, Toyota’s been testing a race-prepped version of their new sports car at the Nordschleife which we think might be the mule for the upcoming sportier Supra.

With this occasion, we got a chance to get a little closer to the Supra, and we like what we see. For example, we got an eyeful of the interior, with the center stack lacking any sort of camouflage with the big infotainment screen on top of the central attraction. It all seems to be, apart from the racing wheel, pretty much stock, so there’s not much guesswork left to do about how the interior will look, given that some renderings of the interior and exterior were also leaked this week.

There is no shortage of car models in the auto industry these days. Some models have gained followings while others have become flashes in the pan. Then there are the titans of the business, the models that have lasted the test of time and have been around, literally, for generations. In the course of their respective lifetimes, these models have evolved in more ways than one, none more evident than their designs. These seven models have been around for so long their designs have evolved considerably from when they first came out. Knowing their place in the business, these models are unlikely to go away anytime soon.

Toyota Supra fans, rejoice! The new Toyota Supra A90 will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2019. As one of the most expected cars in the past couple of years, the Toyota Supra has been under development for more than four years. Thanks to our thorough research and all the details we could pick up at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and during the BMW Z4 unveil (on whose architecture the Supra is based), we know quite a bit about the car. The confirmation for the Toyota Supra unveiling in Detroit came from the Toyota Germany. It was actually announced at the official Facebook page.
