Performance luxury sedans are the perfect middle ground for those seeking comfort, practicality and performance in a single package. And while we have gotten plenty of great examples like the BMW M5, Mercedes AMG GT63, Porsche Panamera, and others, there are those that came to us as concepts, but never delivered in the real world. Here are the most prominent culprits.

The Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo is the more practical version of Porsche’s first, modern-day EV. More importantly, from 2022, both body styles get a GTS version. The Porsche Taycan GTS is already shaping up to be right in the middle of the Taycan lineup, in terms of price and performance, but it also brings a bit more excitement. Find out how, below.

Although Porsche’s most definitive model is the 911, these days it’s the Taycan that often steals the show. Porsche’s first, modern-day EV gave the Tesla Model S a worthy competitor from an established brand and now, the Porsche Taycan is blessed by the GTS moniker. How does it stack up to the rest of the lineup and does GTS still stand for the sweet spot in Porsche’s lineup?

Mat Watson and his team from ’Carwow’ got four cars to the drag strip for an all-German drag race. The contenders included the Audi RS6, the BMW M5 CS, the Mercedes-AMG E63, and the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. All the cars feature V-8 engines and two turbochargers. The Porsche goes in the races with a slight advantage, thanks to the electric motor assisting the engine and helping it make the most horses here. But, it’s a double-edged sword as the motor and batteries make it the heaviest. Which car do you think will dominate the races?

The Porsche 911 is known to be a driver’s car. Lately, we’ve seen various 911 models dominate the drag strip as well. But, is the base 911 Carrera also in the same league? Mat Watson from Carwow finds out by pitting it against the BMW M3 Competition for a series of straight-line races. The BMW makes 125 horses more than the Porsche, but it is also almost 500 pounds heavier. Which car do you think will win?

Porsche is a car manufacturer that prides itself not only with first-class engineering, but also exclusivity. Porsche Exclusive Manifaktur has recognized the increased demand for custom colors, in recent years and has introduced the new Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus options. After Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program, this is the next step in exclusivity for the German carmaker.

A new report is claiming that Porsche is looking to expand its SUV lineup even further with a model that slots above the Cayenne as a flagship crossover of sorts. The model, which is currently without a name, was shown off in a rendering to various dealers, but it is expected to launch in the second half of this decade. Does Porsche need a three-row crossover? The Taycan has been Porsche’s best-selling non-SUV so far in 2021, so it was no surprise when Porsche ushered in some pretty decent improvements for the 2020 model year, nor was it a surprise when the brand launched the off-road focused Taycan Cross Turismo. It’s pretty obvious that Porsche is dead set on expanding the Taycan into what could almost be its own standalone brand, with rumors indicating that we could even see a Taycan Coupe, Turismo, or road-focused Sport Turismo wagon. Well, as it turns out, Porsche showed up to the L.A. Auto Show with not one but two new Taycans – the aforementioned Taycan Sport Turismo and the new Taycan GTS. It seems Christmas has come a little early this year, folks.

The fully-electric Porsche Taycan has been stealing the spotlight from the Panamera lately, outselling its similarly-styled sibling by nearly 3 to 1 so far this year. A new Platinum Edition model aims to bring back the Panamera’s shimmer, but is it enough to convince Taycan buyers?

We’ve come a long way from the original idea that the 2021 Porsche Macan would only be offered with an all-electric powertrain. That was the story in 2019, which quickly turned into word that the next-gen Macan would be all-electric but would be sold alongside the current Macan– something we called “Porsche’s dual-Macan strategy.” Now, it seems there’s even more to the story, and you might not like what you’re about to read.

The Taycan Cross Turismo is a perfect combination of performance and comfort with added luxury from the house of Porsche. Like its sedan brother, the Cross Turismo delivers a spacious cabin, but has an enlarged cargo area and is practical in most cases. While the 2022 model year mainly remains unchanged, there are a few additions which we will talk about in detail in this in-depth review.

Porsche has launched the new 2022 Cayenne Turbo GT and it comes with some very impressive specs. It comes with a V-8 engine that puts out 632 horses, making it the most powerful V-8 engine to come out of the Stuttgart’s factory ever.It also set a new lap record at the Nurburgring, thus announcing itself as the top dog in the Cayenne’s lineup. Porsche has also said that the new Cayenne will arrive Stateside in early 2022 only in the Coupe form. As for the price, it is a shade under $200,000.

Updating cars on a year-to-year basis is becoming a new trend, and the Taycan is the latest model to jump on that bandwagon. For 2022, Porsche has improved the Taycan dramatically, with all updates geared toward making day-to-day use easier. It all starts with Normal and Range modes. When these modes are engaged, the front motor is almost completely decoupled and de-energized. And an new computer algorithm allows both motors to disengage when the car is coasting or at a standstill, something that also helps increase usable range.

Beyond this, Porsche has updated the Taycan’s thermal management system with the goal of optimizing the drivetrain. The battery can now be heated to a slightly higher temperature, which allows for fast charting earlier and at a higher charge level – something that reduces the amount of time required to charge. Even better, the excess heat from electrical components is now used to a greater extent to regulate the battery’s temperature.

Alongside these new upgrades, Porsche is now offering the Taycan with Remote Park Assist that will allow you to park it with your smartphone and Android Auto has finally been integrated into the sixth-generation PCM infotainment system. The Taycan can also be ordered through the paint-to-sample and paint-to-sample plus programs, the first one of which includes up to 65 available colors, like the cool red you see here.

The folks at Carwow brought in four of the best EVs that money can buy you today. The contenders include an Audi e-Tron GT, a Mercedes EQS, a Porsche Taycan 4S, and a Tesla Model S. The Model S is the veteran of the lot, but can it defeat its fairly new rivals on the drag strip?

Sometimes you see something on the internet and think “why don’t they make it in real life?” This is exactly the case, at least to us, for this Porsche Taycan RWB rendering, which looks like it belongs in the latest “Need for Speed” game. The project is actually done by a digital designer that goes by the name “Shashank Das”. The Porsche Macan has been on the market since 2014. Following a revamp in 2018, Porsche has reworked the Macan once again to make it ready for life alongside an all-new electric model that will shortly join it. With its second facelift, the combustion engine model is buying more time. The upcoming Electric Macan will be the first vehicle to be constructed on the Audi and Porsche PPE (premium electric platform).

There have been rumors for a while now about Porsche working on a new performance-oriented variant of its Cayenne Coupé. As always, the sense and nonsense of such a vehicle can be argued at length, but the fact that the folks at Zuffenhausen know a thing or two about how to make an SUV fast is no secret, and now we have even more proof.
