Companies like Estrema, Aspark, and even Tesla, for that matter, came up with fast electric sports cars or electric supercars. While some have faded into oblivion after showing us promising concepts, some have weathered the storm and are either into production or will enter production.

Porsche Denies Rumors About a New Halo Hypercar, But That Doesn't Mean It Isn't Happening

Porsche Denies Rumors About a New Halo Hypercar, But That Doesn’t Mean It Isn’t Happening

Is Porsche really cooking a mid-engine GT1 successor?

Porsche’s sports car lineup is quite diverse, having numerous high-performance models based on both the 911 and 718. That said, the German carmaker currently doesn’t have a proper flagship model. Previously that role was filled by the hybrid 918, but its production was ended back in 2015. Of course, Porsche brought back the 911 GT2 RS, which was based on the 991 and they even did a homage to the 935 Moby Dick, based on that GT2 RS. With this in mind, we’ve been getting mixed reports about a potential “GT1 successor,” some of which are quite interesting.

Watch A Tuned Porsche 911 Turbo S Obliterate A Lamborghini Aventador SV and A Ferrari 488 Pista Piloti On The Drag Strip

The tuned 911 Turbo S shows no mercy to the 488 Pista Piloti and the Aventador SV in a series of straight-line races

The team at Carwow brought three fast cars to the drag strip. The contenders include the Ferrari 488 Pista Piloti, the Lamborghini Aventador SV, and a Porsche 911 Turbo S. The Pista Piloti and Aventador SV make more power than the Porsche in the standard form, but the latter is tuned to make 150 horses more for a Hulk-like transformation. Courtesy of this, it absolutely annihilates both the 700+ horsepower cars in a series of drag races! How often do you see a Ferrari and a Lamborghini get treated with such utter disdain?

Porsche developed the 918 Spyder as the replacement to the Carrera GT from September 2013 to June 2015. In a different light of the ’Holy Trinity’ bolstered by the mighty McLaren P1 and the gorgeous Ferrari LaFerrari, the Porsche was undoubtedly the most distinctive of the three.

This Porsche GT1 User’s Guide Is Probably the Best Video You’ll See This Year

This Porsche 911 GT1 User’s Guide can cause some drooling, as well as bad financial decisions

There are cars out there that have cemented themselves as the ultimate car from their respective brand. Strangely enough, we get a detailed User’s Guide to it, by DK Engineering TV, which prides itself as being a Ferrari specialist channel. Apparently, they like other cars as well, and looking at this chassis number 5 Porsche 911 GT1, we understand completely.

Someone Paid Porsche 911 GT3 Money For this 1981 Porsche 924

Someone Paid Porsche 911 GT3 Money For this 1981 Porsche 924

This one-in-15 924 Carrera GTS Clubsport went for over $250,000 and we’re not surprised

The Porsche 924 was manufactured between 1976 and 1988. Although it was launched as a successor to the 914 and was supposed to sit at the bottom of the company’s model hierarchy, it came with a lot of significant bits and marked a lot of firsts for the company. It was the first street-legal Porsche to feature a front-engine and rear-wheel-drive layout. Not to mention, also the first car from the company to come with an automatic gearbox.

There were many iterations and models of the 924, one of them being Carrera GTS. The automaker built 59 examples of it and 15 of them were the quicker ‘Clubsport’ models. One of these 15 was on Bring-a-Trailer’s auction recently and it was sold for over a quarter-million dollars! That’s way more expensive than any new 911 that you can buy today.

A Porsche Electric Hypercar Is Certainly Possible, But The Wait Might Kill You

A Porsche Electric Hypercar Is Certainly Possible, But The Wait Might Kill You

Once again, the wait for electric technology is holding back a truly awesome car, but the wait will be worth it

The Porsche 918 Spyder was originally showcased at the 2010 Geneva motor show as a concept and was introduced in production form at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show as a production mode. Only 918 examples were destined to be built, and by December of 2014 each and every one of them had be spoken for. Not a bad run for a car that started out at $845,000 or $929,000 with the Weissach Package. With that in mind, it’s not surprising that Porsche promised in that very announcement that the 918 Spyder would be succeeded by an even better model. Yet here we are in 2021, and not even a concept has seen the light of day. So when is a successor to the 918 Spyder going to happen? Well, not before 2025, and that is something you can take to the bank.
