Porsche brought back the "Sports Classic" name with the Porsche 911 997 generation as a successor for the iconic Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS. Now, the name will be used once again, and an official launch for the new generation Porsche 911 992 Sport Classic is rumored for February 2022.

The Porsche 911 is currently in its eighth generation, internally dubbed the 992. The current generation debuted in 2019, with the 911 Turbo debuting in March 2020, and as always, followed the philosophy “evolution, not revolution”. Fast-forward to the end of 2021 and we have spy footage, which shows an updated version of the 992 Turbo testing in the snow. Here’s what we see.

The Safari name has a rich legacy in Porsche’s history. As any die-hard aficionado of the German marque will tell you that it is a name that is of significant importance, given the pedigree it earned during its stint in rallying.

Porsche is about ready to reveal the new Cayman GT4 RS, and rumor has it that it’s going to happen on November 17 or 18. The date actually makes a lot of sense, considering those are the media days for the 2020 Los Angeles Auto Show. We’ve already seen some official photos released by Porsche when the GT4 RS was doing some testing on the Nürburgring, so these spy shots might not seem that interesting, but there’s actually more here than what meets the eye.

A few months ago, we talked about the Singer 911 DLS, which is a 500 horsepower, air-cooled, rear-engine, masterpiece, based on the 964-generation of the Porsche 911. We’ve been hearing about the car since 2018, but it was just a few months ago when the first customer car was finally ready. To say that the 911 DLS is the ultimate interpretation of an air-cooled 911 is a bold statement, which is why Singer decided to take it for a spin at the Nürburgring for some real testing.

With the “regular” 911 (992) GT3 out and official, all eyes are now headed towards the GT3 RS. As expected, the more hardcore version of the already hardcore GT3 will feature more of everything - except for the weight, of which it will have less. The most important thing is that the latest most track-focused normally-aspirated 911 is underway, and here’s what we can expect.

Porsche is up to something again, as we see images of a super-wide Porsche Cayman test mule, roaming around the Nurburgring. Porsche’s small mid-engine sports car already has plenty of versions, which begs the question, what are they cooking this time? There are more than a few theories, as to what exactly we might be looking at, some of which may surprise you. The most obvious of them is that this is the next Cayman, in very early stages of development, but there are plenty of reasons for us to think, it might be something else.

Porsche surprised the folks of China when it revealed a four-cylinder 718 Spyder in China on the sidelines of the Shanghai Auto Show. Dropping the legendary flat-six for a four-banger might seem a little out of place for something as driver-centric as the 718, but with emissions regulations getting ever tighter it makes sense to have such a compliment in the 718 lineup – at least in the People’s Republic, anyway. However, what was once thought to be a Chinese-only affair could soon land in Europe and maybe even the United States. How do I know? Well, these spy photos are a pretty strong indication.

We recently showed you images of another version of the 911 (992) out testing. It seems Porsche is not done with the latest generation of their iconic rear-engine sports car. The 992 currently represents the pinnacle of Porsche 911 evolution and it seems the brand really wants this to be the most complete 911 yet. After all the usual versions of the 911, retro-inspired models make a comeback.

It seems Porsche is really counting on the 992 to be a successful model. Now that pretty much all versions of the latest Porsche 911 are accounted for, the German brand might also be bringing back the limited edition Sport Classic. A possible candidate for a new Sport Classic was caught testing at the Nürburgring quite recently. The Sport Classic first appeared with the 997 generation and was a throwback to the iconic Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS. Judging by the design cues, this might be the return of the limited version.

Some time ago, a very interesting Porsche Cayman was spotted out testing. Remember the photos at the end of October of what we believed was the Cayman T prototype? Now with the four-cylinder Cayman T and Boxter T revealed we know that that was not the case and that it was something else instead. This begs the question, is Porsche working on a Cayman GT4 Touring?

Porsche is about to launch the first race car based on the 992-generation 911. It’s called the 911 GT3 Cup and will be raced in the company’s already iconic and popular one-make series. The latest 911 GT3 Cup is still being tested, so Porsche is only showing us a camouflaged version. But while the car may appear wrapped in the usual swirly camo seen on most prototypes out there, it actually hides abstract maps of the race track on which the one-series is held.

If you’ve been following us, you know that the upcoming Porsche 911 GT3 is no longer a mystery. We spotted the track-prepped 911 on public roads numerous times and recent sightings include an almost camo-free car. We’ve also seen leaked photos with the GT3’s interior, so we’re basically waiting for Porsche to spill the beans and tell us more about what’s under the rear hood. But the Germans are still fine tuning the 911 GT3, which we spotted once again, this time around alongside the cool Cayman GT4 RS.

The intriguing Porsche 911 fitted with a ducktail spoiler returned on the Nurburgring track, fueling new rumors that the German company is working on some sort of new model. There’s plenty of speculation around this car, and the fact that it has been tested in various configurations makes things even more confusing. So what are we exactly looking at?

The latest 992-generation Porsche 911 is in production since 2019, and it’s already available in Carrera and Turbo trim, as well as coupe, cabriolet, and targa body styles. Porsche is also developing new GT3 and GT2 models, but it seems that the German firm may also introduce a high-riding model inspired by the rally-spec 911 SC Safari from the late 1970s. At least that’s what these new spy shots suggest.

The first-generation Porsche Macan was launched in 2014, which means that it’s six years old as of 2020. Given that modern car life cycles take five to six years, it’s about time for a redesign. But it seems Porsche wants to keep the current Macan on the market a while longer. At least that’s what a set of new spy shots we just received suggest.

The latest-generation Porsche 911, dubbed 992, arrived in 2019 and as of August 2020 the German company has unveiled both the Carrera and Turbo models in coupe, cabriolet, and targa body styles.

But we’re still missing the hardcore GT3 and GT3 RS models, as well as the extreme GT2. There’s no word as to when these variants will arrive, but our paparazzi just spotted the GT3 RS testing in the wild. And it looks more aggressive than ever.

The 2021 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is an upcoming version of the Cayenne Coupe, a sleek SUV that Porsche originally introduced for the 2020 model year. Spotted testing in the wild with a different exhaust layout, the 2021 Cayenne Turbo GT is rumored to become the company’s range-topping model. It could also be a hybrid that generates more oomph than the already impressive Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid model. The fact that it was also spotted at the Nurburgring in the past suggests it will be more dynamic than any other Cayenne on the market. The equivalent of the 911 GT3 for SUVs if you will. The name is not yet official, but it could be called the Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT5, a badge that Porsche trademarked back in 2015.

The 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is an upcoming high-performance variant of the 982-generation Cayman that’s rumored to debut in 2020. Essentially a more aggressive and powerful version of the existing 718 Cayman GT4, the 2021 will be the first of its kind and the first modern 718 to feature the "RS" badge. This car has been in the rumor mill ever since the first Cayman GT4 was introduced in 2015, but it took Porsche around four years to turn it into reality. Better late than never, I guess.

The 2021 718 Cayman GT4 RS is more than just a rumor now. The car has already been spotted on public roads with some camouflage on its body, but also with a beefed-up exterior. It features bigger vents in the front, a big rear wing, and many small details that set it apart from the already familiar GT4. Just like the latter, the 2021 718 Cayman GT4 RS will feature the 911’s 4.0-liter flat-six under the hood, but in a more powerful setup. Let’s find out more about it in the review below.

Porsche is currently gearing up for the release of the next generation 992-era 911, offered as a follow-up to the current 991-era 911. Per usual, Porsche will offer a variety of body styles and equipment levels, including high-end speed and unlimited headroom with the up-and-coming 911 Turbo Convertible.

Updated 10/21/2019: The 992-gen Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible was caught testing on public roads again and, while it doesn’t sport that cool red top we saw last time, there are some small changes that tell us this baby is ready to debut. The 2020 Porsche 911 Speedster is a limited-edition version of the 991-generation 911. Based on the 991.2 model discontinued in 2019, the 2020 911 Speedster is the last iteration of the eight-year-old sports car. It’s also the first Speedster since 2010, when Porsche sold a limited-edition model of 356 units based on the 997-generation 911.

Previewed by a couple of concept cars used to celebrate the company’s 70th anniversary of building sports cars, the 2020 911 Speedster is actually very similar to the show cars. But unlike its predecessors, it’s based on the track-ready 911 GT3 and generates in excess of 500 horsepower. As a result, it’s also the first Speedster developed by the Porsche Motorsport division. It also comes with a Heritage Design package that adds unique features inspired by vintage Porsche race cars, as well as a premium timepiece.

It’s not often that we get to see a car testing with its top down, and things get much more interesting when the car in question is Porsche’s new 911 Turbo. The 992-generation model is still months away from release but power output is said to be in the 600-horsepower region, and those beefy hips make us enjoy what we see so far.

Porsche’s been racking up the miles on their 992 test mules for well over a year now. We’ve seen them testing out in the Eiffel Mountains, on the Nordschleife to be precise, on the snow, and on the open road. What we hadn’t seen, though, was the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet with the soft top folded. Now that we’ve also ticked that, there’s not much else we would ask for before release aside, maybe, for a spec sheet?

The current 991 Turbo S packs quite a mean punch with its 580 horsepower, so a break into 600-horsepower territory wouldn’t be wishful thinking for the new car. What we’re sure of, in any case, is that we’d love to be in the place of that test driver and enjoy the last warm days of 2018 aboard a 911 Turbo, be it a factory test car.
