This 1983 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Has Honda Power, But It’s Not What You Think
Let’s be serious: who doesn’t dream about owning and daily driving the living daylight out of a Porsche 911? With the answer to that question in mind, imagine how you would have reacted as a kid if you got this 911 toy-car for your birthday.
Arguably, it might be too late for us adults to live those kinds of emotions, but if you have got a kid and about $18,000 lying around, this Honda-powered miniature 911 made by Porsche could turn you into the ultimate mom or/and dad.
This Lego Porsche 911 Kit Is Double The Fun
Lego has been on a roll with all the car kits that it has been releasing these days, and the toy brick marker has shown little interest in slowing down anytime soon. The newest addition to its growing car kit lineup has arrived, and it’s a two-in-one bundle that’ll allow you to recreate a coupe and a targa version of the 1980s Porsche 911 using the same 1,458 pieces that the kit comes in.
Porsche’s New Partnership with PUMA is all the Sneaker Hype You Need on a Monday
The Porsche 911 Turbo is arguably one of the most iconic cars in history. A car of that stature doesn’t just stay a car; its name lives on in other ways like, say, a limited-edition sneaker line that comes courtesy of Porsche’s partnership with sports apparel company PUMA.
The two German brands are teaming up to create this line of special edition shoes to celebrate the legend of the 911 Turbo. Only 500 pairs of shoes will be created across the entire size range, and if you’re looking to score a pair, you best be quick about it. The range will launch on November 17, 2020, and if it’s as hyped as we think it is, those 500 pairs will be gone faster than the 992-generation 911 Turbo can hit a quarter-mile. That’s 10.1 seconds at 137 mph, by the way.
Save Your Marriage and Get Your Husband This Lego Technic Porsche 911 RSR as a Late Christmas Present
Two years after Lego recreated the Porsche 911 GT3 RS in stunning fashion as part of thelarge-scale Technic collection, its race-going brother joins the fleet. Welcome to the 911 GT3 RSR by Lego Technic, with most of the aero insanity seen on the real thing recreated in model form.
Porsche’s 911 RSR is a menacing machine, one capable of taking on the world’s best in GT racing and beating them all with ease, as it did at last year’s edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours. Now, you can purchase a downsized version with a similar level of complexity, in keeping with the proportions, at a much-reduced premium and without having to contact a professional team of engineers to put it together.
You Can Now Own Your Very Own Porsche 911R in 3D Puzzle Form
Ever dreamed of owning the limited-production 911R? Who hasn’t, right? Well, now’s your chance to get your hands on one; in fact, you can even build one yourself. Porsche has collaborated with Ravensburger to launch a 3D puzzle version of the legendry car that was first built over 50 years ago. What a time to be alive!
Porsche 911 RSR and Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 Get Immortalized in LEGO
They say that advertisements have the power to make or break a brand. If that’s the case, Porsche’s new advertisement highlighting LEGO’s new Speed Champions line just made me want to buy the brick versions of the Porsche 911 RSR and the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0. They’re the latest Porsche models to be immortalized in LEGO and, to commemorate their release, an ad was shot at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart starring the cars and their respective drivers taking a tour of the museum from the confines of their own race cars.
New Limited-Edition Watch from Omologato Pays Tribute to Porsche 917
A while back I did a piece about what I consider to be the 10 coolest motorsport-inspired watches you can buy. The list included some fine timekeepers, but it looks like I might have to update it to include Omologato’s new, limited-edition timepiece, which pays tribute to the iconic Porsche 917 race car.
Although Omologato isn’t the first company to build a 917-inspired watch — BRM’s BT-12 46 Gulf is pretty neat (and expensive) — this new release pays tribute to the what is arguably the most iconic example of the race car. Not including the Gulf-painted mock-up featured in Steve McQueen’s "Le Mans" movie, that is. Specifically, Omologato’s timepiece takes inspiration from the No. 23 Porsche Salzburg version that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1970.
This is visible in the red, while, and black color scheme based on the livery of the actual car, as well as the three small dials. The one on the left is red, the center dial is finish in red with white stripes, just like the car’s front hood, while the one on the right is white and features the famous number 23. The 22mm black Italian leather strap has Guards Red stitching, while the 43mm face comes in a matte-finished frame with chrome accents, and a "917" insignia at the bottom.
The watch is powered by a Japanese Quartz movement of which Omologato says it delivers the "desirable level of precision, reliability and accuracy that only comes with the very best watches." The 917-inspired timepiece is limited to only 200 examples and each will be sold with an ownership certificate, together with a bespoke case. Those who pre-order can choose the number of their watch. Speaking of orders, the timekeeper costs only £339, an affordable sticker given the specifications (also due to the fact that Omologato is a new brand, being established in 2015. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in January 2017.

Life-Sized Lego Replica Of Porsche 911 GT3 RS Is A Thing Of Beauty
Lego Technic has a 1:8 scale Porsche 911 GT3 RS that has comes with 2,704 individual pieces. I’ve built my share of Legos and I know how difficult that can be. Can you imagine actually building a Lego version of the 911 GT3 RS that isn’t 1:8 scale, but is the size of the actual sports car? If you can’t, well, feast your eyes on this. This, friends, is Lego-building taken to a completely different level.
It may not be drivable or even accommodating, but neither of those things can stop this Lego 911 GT3 RS from being utterly and completely impressive. The detail itself is incredible, right down to the aerodynamics, interior, and wheels. If people didn’t know any better, they might actually think this is an actual 911 GT3 RS from a great distance.
Okay, that’s not entirely true, but the point is that the people who built this Lego 911 GT3 RS, presumably those from the company itself, did an incredible job piecing together all these blocks to create the final product. It must also be noted that the kit is placed on a platform with Lego Technic branding at the Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm, Sweden. This could have been be a project that was done to promote the 1:8 scale Lego Technic 911 GT3 RS kit. As for the actual product, Lego says that it’s scheduled to hit U.S. stores this month at a price of $299.99.
It’s a little pricey, but considering how valuable Legos have become these days, some people might just chalk the purchase up to a nice investment.

For the Porsche enthusiast who has everything – possibly including a 918 Spyder parked in his driveway – Porsche has created the ultimate expression of passion for the brand, which, surprisingly, is not a limited-edition 911. It’s called the P’3135 Solid Gold Limited Edition, and it is a fountain pen created from a single piece of solid 14-carat gold with an 18-carat gold nib.
Only 11 of these pens will ever be produced, with sales available at select Porsche Design stores starting next month, but here’s the kicker: bring your wallet. Priced at around $27,000 (or €25,000), this pen will cost almost as much as a used 2007 Boxster, and it isn’t nearly as fun on track days. Fortunately, if you don’t have that much money to spend on a writing utensil, Porsche Design will gladly sell you its standard Solid Fountain Pen constructed of titanium with the same 18-carat gold tip, and it will only set you back $1,090.

Certain automakers are more creative than others when it comes to diversifying its merchandise line. Some keep it limited to the usual fashion lines while others have gone as far as designing collaborative timepieces. Then there’s Porsche, which has pretty much mastered the art of merchandising. From fashionable pieces to designer sneakers and headphones, Porsche has all these bases covered. These days, the German automaker has even begun to dabble into the smartwatch business with the launch of a Porsche-designed face for Android Wear.
It’s admittedly not the most high-fashion product Porsche has ever released, but when it comes to being a pioneer in smart watch product placement, well, the company’s got this base covered, too. And hey, you know, it’s free, so, yeah, free watch face!
Similar to Porsche’s design tenet of style in minimalism, the design comes with a simple white face with Porsche’s logo neatly inscribed in the bottom part of the face. A digital clock is prominently shown just above it and during the FIA World Endurance Championship, an outline of the host track is shown whenever a race is happening in that particular week. In case you’re wondering when this particular feature begins, the 2015 WEC season begins on April 12, 2015 at England’s famous Silverstone race track.
The Porsche watch face can be downloadable for free but it’s only available on Android Wear, which you can use on only a handful of smart watches, including the Motorola Moto 360, LG G Watch, LG G Watch R, Samsung Gear Live, ASUS ZenWatch, and the Sony Smartwatch 3.
If you don’t have any of these, then you’re out of luck. But if you do, well consider yourself the recipient of a cool new smart watch feature courtesy of Porsche.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is an incredibly powerful yet extremely expensive hybrid supercar. Most of us won’t be able to buy one, let alone come within arm’s reach of it. But for those who have a 918 Spyder to call their own, Porsche has a new 918 Spyder luggage set to complement its hybrid supercar.
The specially designed 918 Spyder luggage set is the work of Porsche Design Studio. Naturally, the whole set was built to specifically to fit the 918 Spyder.
Take for example the trolley, which was designed to accommodate 30 liters (1.1 cubic feet) of goods and fit into the 918 Spyder’s luggage compartment. There’s also a carbon case that can be installed into the center console of the supercar. That’s another four liters (0.14 cubic feet) of added space that can be opened on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. A small storage box and two garment covers are also included in the whole set. The box can be fitted into the glove box, while the garment covers hang from a specially designed hanging system that attaches to the 918’s carbon-fiber monocoque just behind the seats.
The luggage set carries the same colors of the 918 Spyder, which include Garnet Red-Silver, Onyx Black-Acid Green, Onyx Black-Silver, Mocca Brown-Silver and Mocca Brown-Orange.
Remember, you can’t buy the luggage set if you don’t have a 918 Spyder. That rules out pretty much all of us.
But anybody who has a 918 Spyder are free to get this set as a nice add-on option. That is if you feel the need to show off your prized ride even more.
According to Porsche’s website, pricing for these piece are "available upon request," which translates to "too expensive to ask."

For all of you real Porsche fans out there, the German sports car builder announced the launch of its new Luxury Home and Office Collection. It contains items inspired by the Porsche models and made from the same high-tech materials used in the real cars.
The first item is an office chair made from a 911 Carrera sport seat. It is upholstered with the same premium black leather found in the sports coupe, and features an electronic backrest adjustment and an embossed Porsche emblem in the headrest.
Next, there is a wall shelf constructed from the rear spoiler of a 911 GT3 Cup Race car. It is made from real carbon-fiber material, and can support up to 264 pounds.
Our favorite item, however, is a 1:8 scale version of the recently launched Porsche 918 Spyder. Just like the production version, it is limited to only 918 units.

The window sticker is an often forgotten item when you buy a car. For the most part, we just rip them off and throw them out, and this act of removing the sticker has been commonplace for decades. Most often, the only time a window sticker is saved is when the car is a collector’s item straight off of the showroom floor. This leaves two options, don’t display a window sticker at all, or have a brand-new-looking replica made that stands out like tank tracks on a WRX.
Well, that’s no longer the case for Porsche owners, as Stuttgart Studios offers replica delivery stickers with optional aging and weathering, giving them an authentic look. By using your Porsche’s VIN, Stuttgart determines all of the codes that were on the original window sticker and creates the sticker just as it was in real life. For an extra cost of $14.95, Stuttgart will add “Motif” to your sticker, which gives it a look and feel that a decades-old window sticker should have.
Judging by the examples that Stuttgart has on its site, it very well might be worth the base $99.95 price to have a sticker made, then the additional $14.95 for the “Motif.” What’s even cooler is that they don’t have just one “Motif” that every sticker gets. They list a total of 12 “Motif” selections on the website, but imply that there are many more options.
This definitely gets TopSpeed’s “Ultimate Niche Marketing” award for 2012. How in the heck these folks came up with this idea is beyond us, but it’s definitely a great idea.
Blackberry has always catered to a more business-like market and that hasn’t changed a bit even with the iPhone invasion of recent years. That’s why when they were looking to partner with an automaker that shared their same market, they found the perfect one in Porsche.
Together, the two companies have collaborated on a new phone called the P’9981 Blackberry Smartphone. Featuring all the standard elements of a high-luxury smartphone, the P’9981 comes with a forged stainless steel frame with a hand-wrapped leather back cover. The QWERTY keyboard set-up makes for an ergonomic profile that’s both handy and easy-to-use.
The P’9981 also features plenty of snazzy features, including a 1.2 GHz processor, HD video recording, 24-bit high resolution graphics, augmented reality applications, Liquid Graphics technology, Blackberry 7 OS, The Porsche Neat Field Communications system, and an 8-GB on-board memory that can be expanded to 40GB with the use of a micro SD card.
Needless to say, the Porsche Design P’9881 Blackberry Smartphone will cost you more than just your typical Blackberry. How much more? There’s no telling, although don’t be surprised if it costs double considering that it passed through the hands of Porsche.
Wall calendars and diaries may already be outdated for some people, but plenty of people still recognize them as essentials for their daily lives. That’s why if you’re into fancy calendars, Porsche Design has one that should be of great interest you.
The German automaker’s retail department recently launched their newest 2012 calendar, called ’Unlimited Fascination.’ Measuring 59mm x 55.5mm, the 2012 Porsche Calendar comes with plenty of fantastic, high-res images of its latest pride and joy, the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera. The calendar also departs from the usual graphics featured in its past incarnations, opting to replace it with photo realistic images of their mighty new bad boy sports car.
The 2012 Porsche "Unlimited Fascination" Calendar retails for €39 ($53), where it will come with a 40-mm collector’s medal that celebrates the latest generation 911. If you have an extra €19 ($26) at your disposal, you can also score the new 224-page Porsche Diary, which features well over 50 pages of dedicated text and images of various Porsche models.
Porsche is not only about riding in style, but also writing in style. Porsche Design has launched the P‘3125 Slim Line series of writing instruments that includes fountain pen, ballpoint and mechanical pencil. All writing instruments in the series are made from high quality stainless steel. The price for the set is 210 Euros or about $290 at the current exchange rates.
The Slim Line Graphite fountain pen features a 18-carat gold nib that makes the wiring even more pleasant. The grip area is finished with a special soft touch varnish, which ensures a pleasurable writing experience. Both the ballpoint and the mechanical pencil in the series are equipped with a special mechanism: when the twist mechanism is activated, the lead is pushed forward. At the same time the clip is lowered in the barrel. All writing instruments in the Slim Line series come in a high quality Porsche Design case.
Usually when we talk about cars, we try to keep alcohol as far away from the conversation as possible. However, this time, we have no choice but to put the indulgence front and center. This is a special Johnnie Walker Blue Label Private Bar designed by Porsche. Of course, this toy comes with a hefty price tag, not unusual for a Porsche item. It costs £100,000 or about $155,000, even more expensive than a Porsche 911 Turbo ($137,500). There will be only 50 units built, sold worldwide.
The new Johnnie Walker Blue Label Private Bar is crafted from the finest materials and combines classic and contemporary design into a piece that exquisitely blends form and function. The bar uses state of the art motion sensors to activate its automated opening sequence, during which sections of the Private Bar effortlessly pivot and slide. This motion allows for a display of a magnum of cask strength Johnnie Walker Blue Label with exterior detailing imagined by Porsche Design Studio, two bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, and four crystal glasses.
Once opened, pressing a discretely styled button reveals a hidden chilled compartment, which rises subtly out of the bar, to reveal a bespoke crystal ice bucket, stainless steel tongs, four further crystal glasses and a crystal jug of iced water.
The biggest problem, next to the huge price, is that this private bar will only be sold through exclusive private auctions, invitation-only events, and bespoke launches.
Porsche’s product design division, Porsche Design, has produced some of the best auto-branded watches in the world today. With their latest creation, Porsche Design is updating their classic P’6620 Dashboard watch with something that’s a little more in tune with the taste of the modern gentleman.
Taking inspiration from the instrument cluster of a Porsche 911 and incorporating it into the design of the timepiece, Porsche was able to take a modern day iteration of one of their classic watches.
The case and bracelet of the watch is made out of lightweight, non-allergenic titanium, which is the same material that Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche first began to use in watchmaking way back in 1980. It’s available in a deep black color that was created by shot-blasting titanium and covering it with a layer of black PVD.
The watch also features a 44-milimeter case, an anti-glare, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and an ETA Valjoux 7753 chronograph function with power reserve.
Any time you have a watch that was produced using high-quality materials and built with meticulous craftsmanship, it’s going to cost more than a standard digital. For the privilege of owning the P’6620 Dashboard, you’ll need to shell out €3,950, or around $6,000 based on current exchange rates.
The newest addition to the Porsche Design timepiece collection is more than just a watch; it’s a compass, too. Called the P’6520 Compass Watch, the timepiece comes with the dual purpose of a watch and a compass that was inspired by its predecessor, which was first built in 1978 by no less than Ferdinand Alexander Porsche.
The modern iteration of the old classic is made out of anti-allergenic titanium, primarily because the material is not magnetic and thus, should not affect the magnetic needle of the compass. The P’6520 Compass Watch features a three-hand watch with luminescent hands driven by SW300 Sellita cailbre. Just underneath the watch is a liquid compass that by itself, can be easily detached.
There’s also a scratch-resistant mirror, which, when opened, clicks into place at a 45-degree angle. Being a Porsche Design timepiece, the P’6520 Compass Watch is made out of titanium and black PVD coating and has been designed to be water resistant of up to 50 meters.
For a merchandise brand that has taken old classics - the P’6930 Chronograph also comes into mind - and given them modern day re-issues, the new 911-piece P’6520 Compass Watch is poised to become another must-have for Porsche fans the world over.
Just to give an idea on the many items coming out of Porsche Design these days, they’ve apparently ventured into the world of recreational paraphernalia.
This is the Porsche Design Shisha, which now enjoys lofty esteem as one of the brand’s newest additions to its World Collection, next to the tea sets and chop sticks. Nothing like branching out on the merchandise catalog, Porsche!
The Porsche Shisha is made out of TecFlex, the same material the company uses in their wide variety of high-end pens. It stands almost two feet tall and also combines aluminum, stainless steel, and glass to create a timeless design that touches on subtle luxury. It also comes with a long flexible tube made out of the aforementioned TecFlex material and has a discrete Porsche Design branding on top.
Interested parties can buy the Porsche Design Shisha at the company’s new store at the Harrod’s department store in London for a princely sum of $2,000. Spending that much for a bong may be too steep for some, but for those that enjoy a drag here and there, the price may very well be justified.
After McLaren and Audi, Porsche has announced today the launch of two innovative bikes: Bike S and Bike RS (Rennsport).
