The Audi RS3 was recently updated and it is a fantastic proposition overall. Audi even gave it a little more torque this time around. But, it is still not in the leagues of EVs when it comes to straight-line races. The folks at Carwow pit the Audi RS3 against a Tesla Model 3 that was nothing more than a glorified squash. The Model 3 is in a league of its own, and in this race, it proved the same by obliterating the RS3.

The Audi Q6 E-Tron is in its development stages, which means it will be caught testing often now. It was recently spied in Sweden for a winter testing session, blanketed in heavy camouflage. However, there were some elements we could decipher here.

At the beginning of November 2021, I brought you spy shots of a mysterious Audi EV prototype that could have been the Q6 E-Tron or a special, China-only model that would slots somewhere between the Q6 and Q4 E-Tron. As it turns out, it was the China-only Q5 E-Tron, and now it has been fully revealed. As you’d expect it’s based largely on the Audi Concept Shanghai that was reveled back in April 2021, a car that led us to believe that China would be getting something like a fancier ID.6 with an Audi badge.

Update 2-9-2021: Audi has finally revealed the E-Tron GT and RS E-Tron GT. While we update this review with all the finer details, check out the important information and new images below!

Announced at Audi’s Annual Press Conference in Ingolstadt earlier this year, the Audi E-Tron GT is a new all-electric four-door coupé destined to hit the market in 2020. Offered as part of the Audi electric onslaught in which the Ingolstadt-based company will reveal 20 new electric models by 2025, the Audi E-Tron GT will sit at the top of the Audi Sport division, and will be responsible for constructing an all-new character trait for Audi’s line of Sport vehicles. With models such as the Audi A5 Sportback and Audi A7, the company obviously has some proper knowledge of the four-door coupé design. The E-Tron GT will act as a flagship for this intriguing car segment.

Given the E-Tron GT will take technology, design features, cabin specs, and possibly drivetrain hardware from other E-Tron vehicles, we already know a thing or two about the new car. Marketed to fight against the likes of the Tesla Model S and similar entries from other manufacturers, the Audi E-Tron GT could be even more impressive than the recently introduced E-Tron Quattro SUV.

As we prepare to close 2020 and welcome in 2021, it’s time to start familiarizing ourselves with a name that could dominate the headlines in the upcoming year. The name is “Landjet,” and it is the internal codename of a new flagship electric vehicle that the Volkswagen Group is developing for a lot of its brands.

Yes, the Landjet isn’t limited to a single make or manufacturer; it’s being developed as an all-encompassing premium zero-emissions vehicle for Audi, Bentley, and Porsche. Different versions of the Landjet — depending on the automaker — will come out, though all versions will ride on the same modular PPE platform that Audi and Porsche developed for large vehicles.

The Audi e-tron GT is all but ready to make its global debut, but the German company is still teasing us with a prototype. Audi’s latest stunt shows the e-tron GT alongside a pack of race-spec R8 LMS models at the infamous Spa Francorchamps track. The gathering took place a couple of days before the 2020 24 Hours of Spa kicked off, so this is more than just a regular teaser. But what is Audi trying to say?

As polarizing as it is, Tesla has a great merit in the whole dynamics that sit behind the current wave of electric cars reaching the market. In simple words, Elon Musk’s company acted as the spark that ignited the trend.

Sure, some external factors such as Dieselgate only added more momentum to the EV movement, but credit must be given to Tesla nonetheless. From that point of view, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Audi is hot on the trails of Tesla as it looks to “catch up” with the electric car maker.

The Audi E-Tron SUV and Sportback are fairly amazing vehicles. I love the fact that they are electric but still look like a modern-day car without all the funky futuristic crap that some automakers try to put in there. The way I see it, both are – for the most part – perfect transitional vehicles. They have lots of technology but don’t go overboard. They provide decent performance and comfort, two things you’d expect from Audi. But, they aren’t without their flaws, and the two biggest – pricing and range – are finally starting to be addressed. Both models will get a big drop in pricing, and the E-Tron SUV will see a slight jump in range, but I’m sad to say that it’s still not enough.

Audi is looking to further refine and boost the powertrain found inside the e-tron, so it’s working hard on the so-called e-tron S, which gets a three-motor setup and better dynamics.

The German carmaker is hard at work developing the bumped-up powertrain that will underpin the incoming e-tron S models (regular and Sportback) and we’ve got to hold our hands up and admit they do look very good as far as performance is concerned.

Range anxiety is the biggest con of any EV today. Even though companies are constantly improving range figures and charging times, the fear of a depleting battery is still one of the biggest reasons why people are apprehensive to make the shift.

Things get worse when it comes to hauling and towing stuff. Since towing or hauling anything puts extra stress on the powertrain, the range is bound to take a hit; and Audi’s recent experiment just proved the same. So, as far as utility is concerned, EVs still have a long way to go until they replace internal combustion engined SUVs and trucks in all senses.

Audi introduced its second all-electric crossover at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. It’s called the 2021 e-tron Sportback and it’s essentially a sportier looking version of the e-tron SUV introduced in 2018. While the SUV looks like an electric version of the Q7, the e-tron Sportback is essentially an EV variant of the Q8.

The current Audi A7 is a real looker, it offers pretty decent performance for a car its size, and you can’t argue with its interior quality of technology. But, the one technology it wasn’t privy to was electrification. Well, not at least until now, anyway. That’s right, folks, Audi has just introduced the A7 Sportback 55 TFSI E Quattro PHEV. What does that mean for performance and fuel economy? Well, Audi didn’t just toss in an electric motor and battery – there are some serious changes here, and you should probably be aware of them.

Committed to making its facilities carbon-neutral by 2030, Audi started with the e-tron multi-structure plant that covers 540,000 square-meters and is located in Brussels, Belgium. Audi improved the body shop, paint shop, and assembly shop and added a new battery manufacturing plant.

The Brussels facility is blanketed with a 37,000-square-meter photovoltaic system. This enables the generation of more than 3,000 megawatt-hours of electricity, thus saving 700 metric tons of CO2 per year. The Brussels plant is the first in the world with certified carbon-neutral production in the premium auto segment.

Volkswagen also made an eco promise. By the end of the year the Stuttgart factory, set to start producing all-electric Porsche Taycans, will be carbon-neutral as well.
