Audi’s A3 Allroad Ambitions Exposed in New, Snowy Images
Following a previous spotting of a jacked-up A3, a new set of spy shots has essentially confirmed that Audi is, in fact, designing an A3 Allroad. Like the previously spotted model, this one was wearing a lot of camouflage on the lower body, meaty tires, and it clearly has elevated suspension – enough for at least 2-3 inches of extra ground clearance over that standard A3. Although the camo does a good job at concealing what’s underneath, if you look closely, you can make out cladding around the wheel arches, especially in the front. The side skirts don’t appear to be any beefier, but there’s a good chance that are plastic for added protection.
Beyond this, there will likely be more hard plastic all around to protect the car on mild off-road adventures. The rear doesn’t appear to be any different, though the front will likely take on a more rugged appearance. Little else is known about this specific car. It may not even be known as an Allroad as the Citycarver name – previously found on the jacked-up A1 – could also make a comeback. The A1 Citycarver actually had a taller suspension (about two inches), larger tires, some plastic cladding, and an overall more rugged appearance. This A3 could simply be a larger version of that, leaving the Allroad name for larger models.
The Audi R8 Will Be Retired to Make Way for an Electric Supercar
The current generation of the Audi R8 is living on borrowed time. Its V10 engine is one of the last of its breed, and as the world continues to enforce ever-stricter emissions regulations, the future of the V10-powered R8 has officially been confirmed today. If you want an Audi supercar with a V10 engine, you better head to your nearest dealer and buy one now.
Here’s Your First Look at The Last Fuel-Powered Audi A4
It wasn’t long ago that Audi boss, Markus Duesmann, told Germany’s Manager Magazin that the midsize A4 will ditch the internal combustion engine by 2023. As such, the next-gen model that’s seen here (and due in 2023) represents that last fuel-powered generation of the A4 with an electric model due after that. So, will this generation get all the bells and whistles to give it a proper send-off, or will it be business as usual?
Q8 E-Tron Confirmed as Facelifted E-Tron Prototype Reveals Minor Changes
Audi is not backing down from electrification. Just recently we learned that the RS6 Avant E-Tron should launch in 2023 and not even a week after that, the company launched the China-only Q5 E-Tron, basically a rebadged Volkswagen ID.6X. And, while all these new models are cool, we can’t forget about existing models, like the original E-Tron – Audi’s largest electric SUV to date. That’s why the company is hard at work to refresh it for 2022 – a move that will keep it fresh until its successor arrives. That successor, we just learned will be coming in 2026.
The Audi RS6 Avant E-Tron Should Launch in 2023
It was just back in April of 2021 that Audi launched the A6 E-Tron concept – a car that was originally thought to replace the fuel-drinking A6. As it turned out, the A6 E-Tron won’t replace the regular A6, but it will be the A6’s EV counterpart. About a month after it was released, I sat down to make a case for how the A6 E-Tron could become the electric wagon – or Avant in Audi talk – that 2025 needs. If the latest reports are true, I could have been right, except that Audi might be moving quicker than I anticipated.
2023 Audi Q9
Rumors of a new full-size Audi SUV have been circulating for a long time and now there’s actual proof that Audi is indeed cooking a new flagship SUV model. Recently, a fully-camouflaged Audi SUV has been spotted testing at Volkswagen’s test facility in Sweden, doing cold-weather testing. With BMW’s introduction of the X7 and Mercedes’s GLS already on sale for some years, it only made sense for Audi to bring out a competitor. Here’s what we know so far.
Update 10-27-2021: The Audi Q9 has been spotted once again, this time doing some on-road testing in warmer weather.
The Audi R8 Bloodline Carries On - Maybe Even As An EV
With a few exceptions, Audi is a brand that makes luxury cars that, for the most part, feature a rather unremarkable design. While that changed in the last few years, one model that has always been exciting is the Audi R8. Since its debut, in 2006, the mid-engine model hasn’t experienced any radical changes. However a few months ago, Hildegard Wortmann – Audi’s global chief of sales and marketing – stated that the Audi R8 “is an icon of the past, not necessarily the future”. This points to the R8 nearing the end of its lifespan in order to make room for something new.
Audi Grandsphere Concept - A Luxurious EV That’s A ’Private Jet For The Roads’
Audi’s onslaught in the EV segment continues. Less than a month after debuting the convertible two-seater Skysphere concept, the automaker has now unveiled another concept; this time a four-door concept called the Grandsphere. The concept comes with interesting specs like a dual motor setup, 711 horses and 708 pound-feet of torque, 0-62 mph in just over four seconds, etc. The stretched model which Audi calls “private jet for the roads” is surprisingly even longer than some Ford F-150 models! Seems like an interesting product, doesn’t it?
2021 Audi Skysphere Concept - A Transformer That Can Change Shape On The Fly
Concept cars come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The Skysphere Concept, which Audi has now digitally unveiled, is unique in more ways than one. It is a massive autonomous open two-seater GT car, that can drive itself.
However, the biggest highlight of this long electric roadster with a soft-top is its ability to change its dimensions on the fly by 9.8 inches. Yes, you heard that right, at the push of a button, the 16-feet long GT extends its length and gets even longer to 17-feet.
Audi Might Have a Big Surprise At the 2022 Geneva Motor Show
Audi showed up to the Shanghai Auto Show with the A6 E-Tron Concept, a car that seemed more like a futuristic A8 than an A6, and one that had production written all over it. It could also become the brand’s first electric wagon, but we’ll leave that discussion for another time. Until now, we’ve heard nothing about when we’d see a production version, but a new report says that A6 E-Tron is slated for production very soon.
Audi Is Befuddled About What a Sports Car Really Is
Following Audi’s last teaser for the Grand Sphere concept – a flagship sedan with RS6-like proportions and potentially a hint at the next-gen A8, Audi has shown off another teaser. This time, we’re looking at the Sky Sphere which is, appropriately, a roofless car that also features sporty proportions. However, there’s something about this specific concept that doesn’t make a lot of sense.
2021 Audi Grand Sphere Concept - A New Direction for Audi and The Next-Gen A8
Here’s a look at Audi’s Grand Sphere Concept, which will usher in the next-gen of the flagship luxury sedan from Ingolstadt. What started as a design exercise three years ago is now ready to be showcased as a concept to take on the likes of other luxury EV’s like the Mercedes Benz EQS, the yet to be announced BMW i7, and the electric Jag XJ.
A Closer Look At the 2022 Audi RS3
The new, fourth-gen Audi A3 was revealed in 2020 through a Covid-induced online event with a new, sportier front end and more attractive styling for both sedan and hatchback body types. The Audi S3 arrived later on in 2020 with a more aggressive attitude, but we’ve still been waiting and itching to see the new RS3. The wait is finally over – well, kind of. The new RS3 won’t make its official debut until sometime in July, but thanks to Auditography, we get to see what the production model looks like in some cool camo.
The Next-Gen Audi A4 Arrives In The Shadow of a High-Performance EV
In 2021 alone, Audi has flipped the script, fully embracing electrification without thinking twice about it. What started with the E-Tron GT quickly led to the release of the Q4 E-Tron and Q4 E-Tron Sportback. And, just when you thought that was enough, Audi hit us with that cool-as-hell A6 E-Tron concept. Now, we’re learning that Audi is planning to stir up the pond even more, and this time it’s the RS4 that’s in the crosshairs, and you’re probably going to think this is really good news.
If Audi Is going To Make Something Smaller Than the Q4 E-Tron, It’ll Be A Sports Car
Audi has been on an E-Tron roll lately, introducing four different models in a very short period of time. It started with the E-Tron GT, which hits the market before the end of the year. That was followed up by the Q4 E-Tron and the Q4 E-Tron Sportback. Right when we thought we had enough, Audi hit us with the A6 E-Tron Concept – a car that should have been called an A7, if it wasn’t for one very important reason. All of this leaves us with a few questions: When will the A6 E-Tron go into production, what’s Coming Next, and will Audi offer something smaller that the Q4?
The Audi A6 E-Tron Could Become the Electric Wagon 2025 Needs
When Audi revealed the A6 E-Tron Concept back in April 2021, there was a very big elephant in the room: The A6 name. Despite the fact that it featured A7-like proportions, like the four-door coupe body, for example, Audi chose the A6 name instead, and there’s actually a logical reason.
