Jeep Electric Cars

Stellantis showcased future developments for several brands under its corporate belt during its very first EV Day event. A six-minute film was shown by its Jeep brand to demonstrate the automaker’s goals. The company that specializes in off-road vehicles puts a great degree of emphasis on the brand’s 4xe goals, part of which includes the installation of Solar charging stations on trails across the country.

Another year, another Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, and this time around, America’s off-road car brand is going electric. And it’s really quite interesting, so keep reading to find out how Jeep plans to electrify the good old Wrangler.

Until a few years back, there was an unsaid notion that hatches and sedans would be electrified first (the urban commuters) and off-roaders would evolve at the end. But, that is definitely not the scene right now. Back in September 2020, Jeep introduced the Wrangler 4xe, a plug-in hybrid version of the standard Wrangler. Now the automaker has confirmed the concept electric version of the Wrangler on its “Road Ahead” site and it will be presented at the Easter Jeep Safari that’s scheduled to start on March 28, 2021.

Jeep recently unveiled its first hybrid vehicles based on the Compass and Renegade SUVs, but the FCA-owned brand is also working on an all-electric hauler. Recent intel claims that the upcoming crossover will be even smaller than the Renegade and that it will benefit from technology by PSA, following the recently announced merger between FCA and the French group that owns Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel.

Electric vehicles are taking over the automotive market and there’s not much we can do about it. It started with hatches and sedans, but the transition is trickling down to hardcore off-roaders as well. We’ve already heard the news about an electric Jeep Wrangler.

So far, all we knew was that FCA is considering one and it will come down the line. It was bound to happen anyway. Now, however, Jeep’s design chief has ascertained that it will be better than the current ICE-powered Wrangler. Does this mean that the current Wrangler has reached its saturation point and there’s no scope for further improvement until an electric powertrain is plonked in?

The second-generation Jeep Compass has yet to see a comprehensive mid-cycle facelift, but it just became one of the first Jeeps to feature a hybrid drivetrain. The electrified Compass made its global debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, alongside the Renegade hybrid.

It’s been less than a year since Jeep introduced a mid-cycle facelift for the Renegade and the mini SUV was updated once again at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. This around though, upgrades aren’t about styling tweaks, but a brand-new hybrid drivetrain. Alongside the Compass, the Renegade is the first Jeep vehicle to boast electrification.

FCA is one of the slowest groups to move towards electrification. Currently, it has got just 3 cars under its umbrella which are anywhere close to electrification. Nevertheless, FCA announced the production of a Jeep Renegade Plug-in hybrid. It will be built alongside the regular Renegade and its Fiat 500X platform mate in FCA’s factory in Melfi, Italy. Jeep will start building pre-production units in 2019, and launch it in the market in early 2020.

The fourth model is Chrysler’s ENVI line-up is the Wrangler Unlimited EV, a Range-extended Electric Vehicle that provides a glimpse into the future model from Jeep.

It is a two-wheel drive model using an ENVI Range-extended Electric Vehicle powertrain, consisting of an electric motor, an advanced lithium-ion battery system, and a small gasoline engine with an integrated electric generator to produce additional energy to power the electric-drive system when needed.

The electric motor produces 268 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV has a range of 400 miles, including 40 miles of zero fuel-consumption, zero-emissions, all-electric operation.

Jeep Patriot EV made its debut today at the Detroit Auto Show, next to the Dodge Circuit EV. The Jeep Patriot EV combines the electric-drive components of an Electric Vehicle with a small gasoline engine and integrated electric generator to produce additional energy to power the electric-drive system when needed.

The Jeep Patriot EV uses an electric-drive motor, advanced lithium-ion battery system and a small gasoline engine with an integrated electric generator to produce additional energy to power the electric-drive system when needed. Range-extended Electric Vehicles provide customers a no-compromise means of dramatically reducing their gasoline use and carbon footprint. The Jeep Patriot EV has a range of 400 miles, including 40 miles of zero fuel-consumption, zero-emissions, all-electric operation.

Chrysler officials released the Dodge Ev, an all-electric performance sports vehicle with looks very similar to Tesla Roadster and also other 2 cars on built completely or partially with an electric powertrain.

All three models are part of a special company’s project which includes more vehicles such as an extended entirely electric minivan called Chrysler EV and a Wrangler four-doors Jeep. The Dodge Ev is the first car of the series that was presented, working entirely on plug-in and inspired by the Lotus Europa.
