Jeep SEMA Auto Show Cars

The SEMA Show plays host to hundreds of vehicles from automakers and aftermarket companies from all across the globe. One of the most consistent groups to take part at the show is Stellantis with Mopar. Most of its brands – especially Jeep – always turn heads with some fantastic concepts. This year was no exception as the auto group brought seven different concepts from Jeep, Ram, and Dodge to the recently concluded event at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The SEMA Show is turning out to be quite exciting. Jeep is taking part, obviously, and has come with a concept targeted at hard-core mountain bike enthusiasts. The automaker, along with Mopar, has transformed the 2020 Gladiator pickup truck into a fun concept vehicle for serious mountain bikers. But, what’s catchier about this concept is the number of storage spaces in the customized truck bed. Oh, and also, there’s a built-in hot dog machine. How about that!

Anybody not living under a rock knows Jeep Wrangler owners love customizing their rigs. The aftermarket industry for the Jeep has exploded in the last decade and Jeep has made moves to finally get into the action. But now Jeep is getting ahead of the curve with its new 2018 Wrangler JL by offering more than 200 parts and accessories right from the start, long before third-party aftermarket companies can even begin developing items for the all-new off-roader. Under the Mopar brand, Jeep and its Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) division have teased these accessories at the 2017 SEMA Show.

Of course, SEMA is the natural place to debut parts and accessories. But, in order to debut these new Mopar and JPP parts, Jeep needed to show the actual 2018 Wrangler. That’s why Jeep did a soft launch on Halloween with only three photos of its new model. As for the parts and accessories, they range from graphics to lift kits and everything in between. And, because of the 2018 Wrangler’s new roll bar design, Jeep can now offer a range of roof racks. The list also includes off-roading items like a Warn recovery winch, rock sliders, and beadlock wheels. There is plenty of others, so keep reading for everything Jeep has announced so far.

What happens when Jeep engineers are given free reign to build something and there are three Jeeps lying around? This – the “CJ66.” It combines the best of a Jeep TJ, Jeep JK, and a 1966 Jeep CJ into one, go-anywhere vehicle. Sadly this is just a one-off concept, but it does showcase the dept of parts available through Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts (JPP). And that’s what SEMA is all about, right?

Jeep engineers started with the Jeep TJ’s fame. They then added the CJ’s body, and then sprinkled in some Jeep JK parts, tons of JPP items, and the seats from a Dodge Viper. All told, this beast is ready for the trail and for a cruise down Woodward Avenue.

Still, several parts were custom made for this Jeep. The hood is similar to the JK’s Heat Reduction hood, but it has been form-fitted over the CJ’s grille and to meet its flat fenders. The interior is custom as well, using parts and pieces from both the Jeep catalog and around the aftermarket industry.

We’re less than a week away from the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, better known as SEMA. Thousands of cars, trucks, SUVs, and custom creations will be present representing the best the aftermarket industry has to offer. OEMs will be out in full force, too, including Fiat Chrysler. Helping drum up interest for the show, FCA released renderings of five concept vehicles its brining, including a Ram 2500 Power Wagon and a Jeep Wrangler customized to look like a CJ. In total, the automaker is bringing 14 vehicles to SEMA.

FCA has not given any specific details on the vehicles, but its clear to see they are far from stock. The Ram 2500 Power Wagon has unique fender flares, a custom matt-black lower color scheme, and two hoops over the cargo bed. The front hoop is up near the cab, looking like those aftermarket hooks made popular in the 1980s. The rear hoop features louvered slats and the name “RAMRACK” embossed in red. There’s no obvious purpose for the hoops (like holding ladders or kayaks), so they could be purely aesthetic.

The Wrangler is a retro throw-back build that purportedly transforms a modern Wrangler into a classic CJ. The front grille and fenders carry the iconic CJ lines, while the hood is a modified version of American Expedition Vehicle’s Heat Reduction Hood. The hood also features black graphics, spelling out “CJ-Sixty Six.” The orange paint really makes the graphics pop, while the blacked-out grille, fender flares, hood accent, and front bumper give it an aggressive appearance. The headlights appear to be the new LED units found in the 2017 Wrangler.

We can see the Jeep sports a Warn winch and the bumper from a Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock. The Jeep rolls on BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires mounted on beadlock wheels with a body-colored rim. We can also spot a rock rail protruding from the rocker panel, meaning this thing is set up for serious wheeling.

For most of the automotive industry, the biggest show of the year for showing off customized versions of all sorts of cars is SEMA, which is happening now in Las Vegas. The exception is Jeep, which holds its own annual event every Easter in Moab, Utah, and always brings a wide variety of customized Jeep products. it seems that Jeep still doesn’t want to be left out of SEMA they year, however, so this year there is a Jeep concept at the Vegas show that “pays tribute to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers off-road club that hosts the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah.”

So, even Jeep’s SEMA vehicle is a nod to the big unveiling in Moab, but that’s fine — Jeep can call it whatever it wants so long as we keep getting new customized concepts. The concept, named the Red Rock Concept after the club that inspired its creation, is different in one other important way. It hasn’t just been built to show off the kinds of accessories that you can find in the Mopar catalog. The Red Rock Concept is also a preview of an upcoming special edition of the Wrangler — one that will also be called Red Rock.

Ever wish you had a fully built Jeep Wrangler Rubicon but don’t have the scratch to buy one? Yeah, me too. Well off-road outfitter Extreme Terrain has partnered up with Barricade, another off-road parts supplier, in a give-away contest for this decked out, 2015 Wrangler.

The Jeep will be given away to the contest winner at the 2015 SEMA show in Las Vegas in front of thousands of jealous onlookers.

But this Wrangler isn’t some pig with lipstick – no, this thing is filled to the brim with some of the best off-road equipment on the market. Everything from the wheels and tires, its suspension system and bumpers, down to the supercharger V-6 has been upgraded for trail duty. Perhaps that’s why the project is called “Trail Force.”

If the SEMA Auto Show ever had a name-game award to give to the most appropriately named concept in attendance, the Jeep Renegade Riptide ought to be in the running. Specifically styled for surfing trips in the summer, the Renegade Riptide doesn’t shortchange you with a fancy name and nothing to back it up. It even looks a lot more practical than similar concepts we’ve seen in the past. Remember the 2009 Kial Soulster? How about the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Beach Battle Cruiser or the 2012 Toyota Tacoma Oakley Surf?

The Renegade Riptide is packaged similarly to those other concepts. The only difference is that I can actually see the Renegade Riptide being sold in Jeep dealerships sooner than later. It’s the perfect look for the diminutive Renegade too, especially since the model is still trying to carve a niche within the Jeep lineup. The Wrangler has its corner, as does the Grand Cherokee and by extension, the Cherokee. That leaves the small crossover Renegade to own the young, up-and-coming market. The Renegade Riptide perfectly showcases that with a combination of stylish looks and useful, new equipment.

I’m a big fan of this model because it clearly knows what it is and doesn’t try to do anything that might run contrary to its identity. The Renegade is a hip, small crossover targeted for the beach-going crowd. No more is that evident than with the Renegade Riptide, which Jeep will proudly display at the 2014 SEMA Auto Show.

Jeep is bringing a pair of Renegade crossovers to the 2014 SEMA Auto Show with every intention of showcasing the vehicle’s potential as a crossover for all seasons, and now it’s time to check out the wintry cool appeal of the Renegade Frostbite. In a lot of ways, the Renegade Frostbite is presented as a winter wonderland sidekick, complete with plenty of white and blue shades to remind us of crossover’s massive potential for adventure.

The Arctic theme is clearly evident and Jeep creatively played around with it by adding a lot of essential winter upgrades that deserve a showcase booth at the 2014 SEMA Auto Show.

Far more important than just holding a spot at SEMA, the Renegade Frostbite is the perfect aftermarket introduction to the Renegade crossover. If customers didn’t know how fun the Renegade is and how it can be easily adapted to any situation, the Frostbite concept provides the appropriate showcase of its capabilities at the biggest aftermarket show in the world.

Sure, the Renegade is still the newest Jeep, but it won’t be long before we see it headed to snowy mountains, all packed and ready to go.

With less than a month left until the 2014 SEMA Show opens its doors on November 4th, automakers are starting to preview some of the projects that we’ll get to see in Las Vegas. While Honda is planning to showcase a handful of modified Fit sub-compacts, among other yet-to-be-named cars, Mopar is readying no less than 11 vehicles for the event..

Chrysler’s parts, service and customer care brand didn’t provide any details of its 2014 SEMA lineup, but in traditional fashion, it released teaser sketches for each vehicle that will be displayed in the brand’s 15,345-square-foot exhibit. This year’s lineup is as diverse as it gets, including cars from each brand found under the Chrysler-Fiat umbrella. Read on to find out what Mopar has in store for us at the SEMA Show.

To no one’s surprise, one of the 20 vehicles that Mopar is displaying at the 2013 SEMA Show is based on the all-new, 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Dubbed the Trail Carver, this SEMA concept displays the off-road abilities of the light-footed Jeep, and endear itself to Jeep faithful.

The concept is based on a Trailhawk 4x4 model that uses a 3.2-liter, V-6 engine that delivers a total of 271 horsepower and 239 pound-feet of torque. Mopar added in a cat-back exhaust system that is sure to release 5 to 10 horsepower. With this as a starting point, Mopar added some pretty nice flavors that completely transform the look of the Cherokee.

The concept is painted in Auburn Pearl paint combined with low-gloss black, Granite Crystal and orange highlights. Mopar then rounded out the interior with bright door-sill guards with the Jeep Cherokee logo, a wireless smartphone charger, and WiFi. The Jeep Cargo Management Receiver System.

For the interior, Mopar focused on adding in high-quality, Katzkin Amaretto leather upholstery.

Because we are talking about a concept designed for off-road, the Trail Carver received large wheels wrapped in off-road tires and rock rails that will offer improved protection.

If there is one show that really brings the best out of Chrysler’s MOPAR tuning division, it is SEMA in Las Vegas.

Topping its past SEMA showcar roster, it looks like Mopar is once again pretty busy developing the models it will display in Las Vegas during the 2013 SEMA Show.

This year Mopar will bring no less than 20 heavily modified models, coming from Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat and SRT. Plus a few buyer customers from Chrysler’s Facebook challenge prize-winners.

The first teaser images revealed today show:

an updated Jeep Cherokee in various flavors some hot Fiat 500’s a Mopar Ram 1500 and the latest look for the Mopar Chrysler 300.

Those of you whom will be in Las Vegas this year will also have the chance to take a first look at the latest Jeep Performance Parts, developed by Mopar Off-Road Division and even for sale in many Jeep dealers.

The 2013 SEMA will open its door on November 5th, but stay tuned for all the pre-show news!

We’ve seen some pretty zany graphics done on a lot of cars over the years. What we haven’t seen before is a zipper. Yeah, a zipper.

Somehow, though, Jeep and Mopar managed to do that to a Grand Cherokee. It’s called the Cherokee Half & Half and as the name evidently suggests, it’s so named because of the dual identity Jeep and Mopar wanted to convey to the SUV. Hence, the use of an actual oversized Mopar zipper attached to the front bumper. SEMA would be so proud.

On one half of the Grand Cherokee is actually a perfectly fine, albeit non-customized Deep Cherry Pearl Coat Grand Cherokee Laredo. As for the other half of the SUV, that’s where Mopar used a plethora of its own accessories to illustrate a "before-and-after" look to the Grand Cherokee. Even the wheels are of different sizes with the regular model boasting of 17" wheels whereas the Moparized side was fitted with 20" chrome wheels.

This odd example of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was also translated in other parts of the exterior, including chrome on the mesh-grille insert, tube steps, mirror caps, a hood air deflector and fog lamp bezels. The SUV also has a trailer hitch with a wiring harness, front tow hooks, a bright license plate frame, roof rack cross bows and, and a luggage carrier - or half of it, as we should say.

Moving to the interior, one half is normal and the other part comes dressed with Mopar goodies, including a premium Katzkin Tuscany Leather interior, logo door-sill guards, a bright pedal kit, all-weather mats, a cargo tray, and a cargo net.

Talking about weird aftermarket projects, this one’s definitely on top of that list.

Jeep will be showing up to the 2012 SEMA Auto Show with a very cool Wrangler Sand Trooper Concept developed in cooperation with Mopar. This concept is powered by a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine that delivers a total of 375 HP and 410 lb-ft. of torque.

The Jeep Wrangler Sand Trooper is painted in a very cool Dune-in-Matte tan color combined with numerous matte-black elements on the front and rear off-road bumpers, grille, fuel-filler door, tail lamp guards, and black door-sill guards. The concept doesn’t feature a top, but comes with Mopar half-doors to show off its exclusivity. The tuner also added in a new set of matte-black wheels wrapped in massive 42" Super Swamper Bogger tires. Additional exterior parts include a skid plate, Warn winch, LED off-road lights, rock rails, and trailer-tow hitch receiver.

The interior package starts with some very cool premium black Katzkin leather seats, while the list of accessories include a rearview camera, Mopar prototype CB radio, all-weather slush mats, hood lock, and a locking trailside winch kit.

Mopar has unveiled a series of teaser images for their upcoming line-up, which will be presented in Las Vegas from Tuesday, October 30, 2012, to Friday, November 2, 2012. These images only show five different vehicles, but the company has promised that more than 20 Moparized Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, and SRT vehicles will be at the show.

The teaser images show a widebody Fiat 500, a custom RAM pickup, an updated Dodge Charger,
a heavily modified Jeep, and - our favorite - a very nicely updated Dodge Dart. With its growing list of Mopar-first features, including Electronic Vehicle Tracking Systems (EVTS), Wireless charging, Vehicle-information apps, and Electronic owner manuals, we’re psyched to see what Chrysler’s service, parts, and customer-care brand has to offer at this year’s SEMA Auto Show.

"The show is an opportunity for us to inspire owners to customize their vehicles, and it’s the perfect place to showcase our vast portfolio of quality-tested performance parts and accessories."

We still have to wait a long time before the 2012 SEMA Auto Show officially starts, but there are already a few vehicles getting prepped for their big day. One of these models is a ruggedly eccentric Wrangler Crush Recovery designed by famed Jeep builder, Dave Doetsch.

His project is based on a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, the most capable off-road vehicle on the market. The new Wrangler Unlimited "Crush Recovery" was outfitted with more than 60 of the latest products from OMIX’s family. These products include Alloy USA’s high-strength chromoly axle shafts, Rugged Ridge XHD modular aluminum bumpers, and new half doors for the Jeep. Topping off the accessories is an Orange Crush exterior paint finish, which is where the name of the project comes from.

Before its official launch in SEMA, the Wrangler Unlimited "Crush Recovery" will be unveiled to selected customers at the 2012 Airpark Jeep Jamboree in Scottsdale, Ariz. on October 13, 2012.

The SEMA Auto Show doesn’t get going until next week, but we already have a good idea of what will be coming to the show in Las Vegas. Today, Chrysler’s Mopar Underground department has just unveiled three new off-road vehicles for the aftermarket show.

The first on offer will be twoJeeps, the J7 Stripper and the NuKaiser 715. The former will be a stripped down Wrangler with a two-inch lift kit and 35-inch Mickey Thompson off road tires. The latter will be based on the Egyptian-built J8 military-spec Jeep. It has a diesel motor and an AEV-sourced pickup bed. That bed is connected to a custom cab. It will also feature a few Mopar toys, such as rock rails, a winch bumper, and 38-inch Mud-Terrain tires.

On top of those Wranglers, Jeep will also bring one more, the Sahara Mopar Edition. There are no images of this vehicle as of now, but we do know that it will be lifted and given 35-inch tires with AEV alloy wheels. For playing in the rough stuff, the Sahara will feature steel front and rear bumpers, an integrated rear tire carrier, and a Mopar/AEV hood to add protection.

While we had heard a lot about the Jeep Wrangler Overland modified by Chrysler’s in house tuners Mopar, but we couldn’t fully appreciate the go anywhere and then camp anywhere Jeep until seeing it in person at the 2009 SEMA Show. The interior of the Jeep Wrangler Overland features water resistant Mopar front seat covers, rugged Mopar slush mats, a Daystar dash bin and lower switch panel that powers the added accessories. Enhancing the Wrangler’s off road ruggedness is a 3 inch lift from American Expedition Vehicles as well as a full traction rear sway bar. The added clearance allows aggressive 35 inch off road tires to be mounted on the 17 inch steel Mopar wheels. However the real beauty of the Overland is the full size tent that opens on the extended roof panel and an equally spacious shade providing tarp that gives it owners the perfect place to have a picnic while on safari.
