Dodge vehicles have always been known for their bold, in-your-face looks. To spice things up a little, Dodge has decided to bring back the lime green color that was seen on almost all the Dodge cars in the 1970s, and it’ll do so at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. With the 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 and the Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE being in the news lately, is this a move out of desperation? Perhaps, Dodge has taken up the ’challenge’ to ’charge’ its range. Bad pun, eh?

It was not just Mazda which brought an anniversary edition model to Chicago Auto Show.The MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition might have stolen the limelight, but Chrysler and Dodge have launched anniversary editions of their minivans as well. Perhaps, they went unnoticed because they are humble minivans and not some fancy roadsters. Oh, automotive enthusiasts, thou art mean.

Don’t expect to see a new Dodge Challenger or even a new Dodge Charger at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. But Dodge is bringing a Challenger and a Charger to the Windy City anyway; it’s just that the headline act isn’t either of the two performance cars. It’s the paint they’re wearing, which Dodge calls “Sublime.” The importance of the paint scheme shouldn’t come as a surprise to those who remember it. The Sublime finish is arguably one of the most iconic paint colors that the Challenger and Charger have worn in their respective lifetimes. 2015 was the last time Dodge offered it on the Challenger, and we haven’t seen the Charger sport it since 2007. Now it’s back, and, according to Dodge, it’s available as a factory color option across the entire range of Challenger and Charger models.

SUV fans have been clamoring for a beefed-up version of the Durango SRT ever since Dodge launched the Challenger Hellcat. But it has yet to happen as of 2018. And I really don’t think that it will change anytime soon. Jeep is already offering the Cherokee Trackhawk above the SRT model, and I’m pretty sure FCA doesn’t want a re-bodied version of this model with a Dodge badge. But, if you’re not a Cherokee fan and you want a Durango SRT with a few special features, you’re going to have to settle for the Mopar upgrade that was unveiled at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show.

Mopar-made bundles for the Dodge Durango is nothing new; we’ve seen them in the past. But these new packages are a bit more comprehensive and include updates for both the exterior and interior, as well as the drivetrain. There’s no extra power to talk about, and this might be disappointing for some, but the performance exhaust and suspension are just enough to set Durango SRT apart from its standard siblings. And the body stripes and carbon-fiber trim add a certain degree of sportiness you don’t get in many SUVs.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is ramping up its parts division to provide customers with tons of vehicle accessory choices. We’ve seen it with the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL, but now at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show, both the 2019 Ram 1500 pickup and 2018 Dodge Durango are getting “Moparized.”

Mopar, the iconic parts and accessories division of Chrysler, is doing big things these days. For the 2018 Dodge Durango, Mopar has developed parts for four areas of the three-row SUV. Some are cosmetic while other add performance. So, here’s what you need to know about Mopar’s available upgrades for the 2018 Dodge Durango R/T and SRT trims.

Still feeling disappointed that Dodge doesn’t want to build a Hellcat version of the Durango? Well, you will soon be able to buy an SUV that looks like a Hellcat. Sort of. The Durango is getting new Mopar parts at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show, and the visual upgrades are interesting to say the least.

The Dodge Durango started life as a midsize, body-on-frame SUV in 1998 and became a full-size SUV for its second generation, which ran from 2004 to 2009. That second-gen model saw declining sales year after year, going from 137,148 sales for the 2004 model year down to just 3,521 for the 2009 model year. The Durango then fell out of production for 2010 (only 572 examples were sold that year), and by the time the 2011 model year came around, Dodge had redesigned the Durango into a full-sized unibody that was sportier than ever with a more upscale interior. Engine options for the current generation have been limited to a 3.6-liter Pentastar and Dodge’s 5.7-liter Hemi, but that is about to change now that Dodge is introducing the Dodge Durango SRT, which includes an even sportier exterior and interior package to go with a 6.4-liter Hemi (392 cubic-inches,) something that makes the Durango the fastest SUV in its class with an output of 475 ponies and 470 pound-feet of torque – that’s one mean machine.

If it seems to you like the Durango was ready to see its fourth-generation before it got yet another trim level, then I would have to say I agree. The current generation has been on the market since 2011 and was updated for the 2014 model year. But, FCA is trying to hold off on pushing out so many new-gen models and is instead focusing on coming up with new ways to bring interest to the models that are actually due for an update. The most obvious car this is happening to is the Dodge Challenger with its new SRT Demon, but the Durango is another one of those models that will soldier on for another year or two. But, at least you can now get it with that 6.4-liter Hemi wrapped in a very sexy package with room for six. With that said, let’s check this baby out and see what all it’s working with!

Introduced in 2008, the fourth-generation Challenger is the first modern iteration of the nameplate and revived the iconic pony car after 25-year hiatus. Upgraded in 2015, the current Challenger is set to remain in production until 2019. After launching several new models and trims, including the SRT Hellcat and the all-wheel-drive GT, Dodge introduced the special-edition Mopar ’17 at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show.

Created to celebrate Mopar’s 80th Anniversary, the ’17 Challenger includes numerous Mopar performance parts and accessories, as well as an exclusive owner’s kit and a serialized badge. Limited to only 160 units, it joins an exclusive club as the eighth limited-edition, Mopar-modified vehicle delivered straight from the factory. The Mopar ’17 Challenger follows the Mopar ’10 Challenger, Mopar ’11 Charger, Mopar ’12 300, Mopar ’13 Dart, Mopar ’14 Challenger, Mopar ’15 Dodge Charger R/T, and Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel.

“Since its birth in 1937, Mopar has evolved from the name of an antifreeze product to a global customer-care brand,” said Pietro Gorlier, Head of Parts and Service of FCA. “The Mopar ’17 Dodge Challenger, our latest limited-edition vehicle, is a testament to this philosophy, showcasing how Mopar assists owners in personalizing all FCA US vehicles.”

We’ve already shown you the 2014 Dodge Charger SRT and Chrysler 300 SRT Satin Vapor Editions, and now we present the last of the special edition trio, the 2014 Dodge Challenger SRT Satin Vapor Edition.

Just like the other two Mopars, the Challenger is left mechanically stock with this appearance package, but that’s not a bad thing. Its classic 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 (That’s a 392 for you cubic-inch guys) sends a raucous 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. Zero to 60 and quarter mile times remain the same at 4.4 seconds and 12.8 Seconds at 115 mph, respectively.

The differences here are only skin deep. Unique 20-by-9-inch forged aluminum split five-spoke wheels get a black satin chrome finish with massive red Brembo calipers hugging the huge vented rotors just behind. Satin-black mirrors and a satin-black fuel door stand out, while grey "392 HEMI" badges remind on-lookers of what evil lurks under the long, double-scooped hood. And just like the other two, the Challenger comes with its own set of unique exterior colors: Bright White, TorRed, Header Orange, and Graphite.

Charcoal-colored Nappa leather seats with ultra-suede inserts, along with the instrument cluster treated with a mini-carbon bezel help set the interior apart from lesser Challenger SRTs.

Adding the Satin Vapor Edition package to a new Challenger will cost and extra $1,700 beyond the SRT’s $40,485 MSRP and it will be in showrooms the second quarter of this year.

The Charger SRT is one of the sickest sedans available today, there is no question about that. But some buyers just need a little extra aesthetic oomph to make them happy. Well, SRT was happy to cater to these discerning buyers by releasing an all-new Satin Vapor Edition at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.

There are no performance mods under the hood, so expect the Charger SRT to carry the same 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 that gets down with 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of twist. You also get the same 23 mph on the highway, thanks to the active valve exhaust system and Fuel Saver Technology — a mode that mechanically and electrically shuts down four of the eight cylinders.

What this new package does net you is a ton of aesthetic upgrades, including 20-by-9-inch aluminum wheels in a split-five-spoke design and coated in Black Satin Vapor Chrome, a Satin Black Super Bee tail graphic, a Satin Black roof and center sections on the hood, Satin Black mirrors and spoiler, grey "392 HEMI badges," and red Brembo brake calipers. Buyers can choose from four available colors with this package: Bright White, TorRed, Header Orange and Graphite.

SRT didn’t just update the exterior either, as the inside received a healthy dose of updates to go along with the upgraded exterior. These updates include a Nappa leather seats with ultra-suede inserts for superior softness and a Uconnect Media Center with an 8.4-inch LED touchscreen.

This package will set you back an extra $2,330 on the MSRP of the Charger SRT, which totals out to a starting price of $46,715. It’ll hit showrooms in the second quarter of 2014.

Dodge will expand its Journey lineup with the addition of a new Crossroad version that it will unveil at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. It comes just a few weeks after Dodge announced that 2013 model year was the Journey’s best sales year ever, and Dodge hopes that this new version of the model will enjoy the same success as the rest of the Journey lineup.

The new Journey Crossroad will be distinguished by a specially designed front and rear fascia, platinum chrome and black elements, plus a series of updates for the interior. The only problem is that the model comes with pretty much no upgrades under the hood, so the customers will have to choose between the usual four-cylinder and V-6 engines.

The new Dodge Journey Crossroad will be placed between the current SXT and Limited models in the Journey lineup and will be priced from $24,995. Sales will begin later this spring.

Chrysler has unveiled the first details on a new limited-edition vehicle set to be unveiled at next month’s Chicago Auto Show. The new Mopar ’13 Dodge Dart will join the current lineup of limited-edition vehicles offered by Mopar: Mopar ’10 Dodge Challenger, Mopar ’11 Dodge Charger and Mopar ’12 Chrysler 300.

This special Dart will be distinguished by a gloss-black finish with a pair of car-length Mopar Blue stripes, plus a very cool aerodynamic kit and an updated interior.

The new Dodge Dart Mopar ’13 will be limited to only 500 units, and will be put into production this spring at the company’s assembly plant in Belvidere, Illinois. Each customer will also get a limited-edition sketch of the vehicle signed by Mark Trostle, Chrysler Group Chief Designer for the Mopar Brand.

Dodge is expanding its lineup by offering a series of new "Core" models that have been inspired by models like Charger SRT8 Super Bee and SRT Viper. The first model announced is the new Challenger SRT8 "Core" priced at $38,995 - significantly lower than the SRT8 392 models, which are priced at $45,125.

This huge difference on price is given by the fact that the new Core edition has been "designed and built with the back-to-basics performance driving enthusiast in mind," meaning that it eliminates all those fancy features you have been used to in an attempt to keep the price as low as possible.

The new Challenger SRT8 "Core" Edition adds a standard premium "Ballistic" cloth interior from the new SRT Viper, SRT-tuned sport suspensions and distinctive exterior accents, like a black grille and black SRT rear spoiler, plus two new exterior colors: Orange Pearl Coat and Plum Crazy Pearl Coat.

With the 2013 Chicago Auto Show being just around the corner, is no surprise that the list of models to be displayed in there is getting bigger by the day. The latest announcement comes from Dodge, which will bring a very cool Challenger R/T Redline Edition to the show.

The new R/T Redline continues from where the Challenger Rallye Redline left off last year and can be built on either R/T or R/T Plus models. While the previous Rallye Redline edition was offered with a V-6 engine, the new version features a V-8 engine under its hood — making it more powerful and faster than the previous Rallye Redline version.

The model will be distinguished by some of the same things that the Rallye version was, but there are some twists added to the R/T version that make it stand out.

Dodge has arrived at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show packed full of yummy offerings for our insatiable appetite. The second model to debut - after the Green With Envy Challenger - is the new 2012 Charger SRT8, and yeah, its got a HEMI. In fact, it has a 6.4L V8 HEMI that delivers a total of 465 HP and 465 lb.-ft. of torque allowing it to make the 0-60mph sprint in just four seconds with a top speed of 175mph. Sales will begin later this year.

True to its promise of reinventing itself for the new year, Dodge is coming to the 2011 Chicago Auto Show with a roster of R/T edition models, one of which is the hulking mass of power, the Dodge Durango R/T. Joining the Durango R/T at show will be four other R/T models, including the Charger R/T, the Challenger R/T, the Grand Caravan R/T, and the Journey R/T. Incidentally, the last two models are the first of its line to be outfitted with Dodge’s road & track setup.

Similar to the Durango Heat revealed earlier, the Durango R/T comes with a bevy of aesthetic improvements and performance modifications. Essentially, both the Durango R/T and the Durango Heat are the same models except for one pretty important aspect: engine performance. Regardless of the different powertrains, Dodge has set high expectations for both the Durango R/T and the Durango Heat within the full-size SUV segment.

At the Chicago Auto Show, we’ll get a pretty good idea on whether these two gnarly machines are up to the task.

It’s a new year for Dodge and the American automaker is determined to start the year off on the right foot. At the 2011 Chicago Auto Show, Dodge will be unveiling a new and affordable performance package for the 2011 Durango, one that will henceforth be called the Dodge Durango Heat.

Though it doesn’t come with the same HEMI powertrain of the performance-oriented Durango R/T, the Durango Heat does come with some attractive features of its own. First is an aggressive styling that underlies its inner beast. Then there’s the new Pentastar V6 engine, which, despite its less powerful engine compared to its R/T alter ego, promises to make up for it in terms of fuel efficiency.

According to Ralph Giles, Dodge’s president and CEO, the Durango Heat "is about handling performance and a street presence that puts the sport in sport-utility."

Wiser words have never been spoken.

The new Challenger SRT8 392 will make its competitors go green with envy - Literally! - with the new Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 edition carrying this exact name revealed at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. The new Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Green With Envy is already available with a price tag of $44,875.

Fresh off of the 2011 North American International Auto Show, the next major auto event is ready to kick off in a little over a week’s time at the Windy City in Chicago. From February 9th-20th, the Chicago Auto Show will be the center of the automotive universe - in the US, at least - and is expected to draw a sizable number of manufacturers from all over the world.

Here at Topspeed, we make sure that you’re on top of everything as it pertains to these type of shows and just like Detroit, we’re here to give you a low-down on what cars to expect at the Chicago Auto Show.

Dodge revealed today in Chicago the 2010 Ram pick-up line-up. For 2010, the Crew Cab with six-foot, four-inch box replaces the Quad Cab to meet Heavy-Duty customer needs and focus on overall vehicle refinement and ride comfort.

The new 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty is powered by the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, which produces 350 hp at 3,000 rpm and 650 lb.-ft. of torque at only 1,500 rpm. The engine is mated to either a choice of either a G56 six-speed manual transmission or a 68RFE six-speed automatic transmission.

The other choice for 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy-Duty customers is the standard 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 gasoline engine, delivering 383 hp at 5,600 rpm and 400 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm.

It’s finally official: the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. The Challenger continues the tradition started in 1970 with the launch of the Dodge Challenger, the last entrant in the pony car ranks of Detroit’s Big Three.

The 2008 Challenger SRT8 is powered by a 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 engine that delivers 425 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick. It makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in lest than 5 seconds and the 0-100-0 mph in under 17 seconds.

Dodge will offer the limited-edition 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in three colors: HEMI Orange, Bright Silver Metallic and Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat. Each two-door, rear-wheel-drive coupe will be produced with a numbered dash plaque, carbon fiberlike hood stripes and will be powered by SRT’s 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 engine.

The all-new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 offers exterior styling cues that are unmistakably Dodge. Exterior proportions evoke a bold, instantly recognizable vehicle that has a wide, stable stance on the road. A full-width grille and fog lamps reminiscent of the original Challenger are married to the modern "Dodge attitude." The result is an aggressive face that is unmistakably a muscle car. The hood with a raised center, carbon fiberlike stripes and functional dual scoops stays true to the Challenger heritage, as does the A-line and beltline.

The Challenger SRT8 front end incorporates numerous functional design features. Included are a fascia that directs air around the front of the vehicle, dual snorkel hood scoops that bring cooling air into the engine compartment and ducts that direct air to cool the brakes.

Sales will begin this spring at a price of $37,995.
